the view was fantastic from the room balcony. The church bell at 8 in the morning was worth a lot not your ordinary chimes but a happy little tune set us up for the day.

we got the worst weather ever for the time of year. we would normally walk the local area but didnt. It was at the top of a very steep hill and buses finished at about 6 in the evening so transport is needed or taxi

The manager was very helpful. The attached pizzeria served great pizza.

The view overlooking the lake was simply great.

Hard to find even with gps.

Internet worked good most of the time. Fair breakfast, good quality but the buffet selection was quite poor. Great view, the room had a balcony with lake view. Friendly staff.

Extremely hard to find even with GPS (address is given incorrectly), the road there is very difficult, the hotel sign is poorly designed ("pizzeria" is written in large, so it's easy to pass it by in the dark). Buffet selection for breakfast was quite poor. Room sound isolation could be better.

Beautiful views. I had a single room with a balcony overlooking the lake and there was a bus stop right outside. The hotel is about 6 km from the Centre of Menaggio in the village of Ligomena. The bus service ran from early in the morning with the last bus at 6.30pm from Menaggio, so if you wanted to stay out longer than that and didn't have a car, the taxi costs around 15 euros. Although only one of the staff spoke English, it was easy enough to make myself understood in my limited Italian and they were all very pleasant and accomodating, The area around the hotel is very nice, with plenty of areas to explore in the evenings after dinner. There was also two markets in the village while I was there. I had a great time there and didn't want to leave!!

The only thing I can say here is that like all European hotels there are no coffee making facilities in the hotel room!

Good price and nice food at the restaurant. Friendly staff. I will go again.

Location was misleading on the map when booking, it is not in the middle of Menaggio as it was shown on the map, but another 7 km into the mountains, nice location though

Hôtel vieillissant. Point de vue magnifique sur le lac de Côme, mais difficile à trouver car situé 5 km en retrait du lac dans la montagne. A conseiller à ceux qui veulent passer un séjour au calme avec un point de vue imprenable. Garage pour les motos.

L'hôtel a besoin d'un coup de "jeune" (peintures, menuiseries,...).

Udsigten er hvis det eneste rigtigt positive ved hotellet, personalet var dog meget venlige og imødekommende.

Hotellet speciel værelserne bar præg af at de trængte til en dygtig pedel I nogle måneder... Prisniveauet er dog ret højt omkring Como søen, så man får vel hvad man betaler for..:-)

Trop peu de transports en commun, voiture ou taxi depuis Menaggio nécessaire pour être totalement indépendant.

Einfaches Hotel mit einer Super Lage. Etwas abgelegen mit einem wunderschönen Blick über den Comer See. Im Vergleich zu anderen Hotels in dieser Region und in Bezug auf Ausstattung und Leistung etwas zu teuer.

Preiswerte einfache Unterkunft in ruhiger Lage mit herrlichem Blick auf den See. Für italienische Verhältnisse reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet. Familienbetrieb mit empfehlenswertem Ristorante/Pizzeria.

Wer in Sachen Sauberkeit sehr pingelig ist, wird nicht glücklich werden. Keine Schuld des Hotels: Karte bzw. Routenplaner von booking.com zeigt Albergo Samaver an der falschen Stelle an. Die tatsächliche Lage des Hotels ist ca. 3 km vom angezeigten Ort entfernt. Einfach der Straße noch weiter bis zum Ortsteil Ligomena (Plesio) folgen.

Room was actually dirty... A little vaccum cleaner would've helped, but during the stay there was none...
