Albergotto Hotel

We had a wonderful five days at the Albergotto! For persons that like shopping, the hotel is right on Florence's major fashion street. We were able to easily walk to all the major museums within 10 minutes. I can't say enough for the hotel staff. They're English was wonderful (our Italian is not). We asked for recommendations to moderately priced places for dinner that are frequented by locals near the hotel on several occasions when it was pouring down rain. They gave us excellent recommendations. We wanted to take a cooking class and the hotel arranged for us to take a class where we cooked a four course meal plus wine at a very reasonsable price.

Two items may be an issue for some travelers: 1) there were 29 steps to get to the elevator. Buzz at the lower level and they come get your luggage. So you need good knees. 2) We have a corner double deluxe room. The room was very comfortable but we had a lot of street noise all night long. This wasn't a problem for me but my partner tends to be a light sleeper and he found himself waking up a lot.

Clean large comfortable room, with fresh towels and bedding daily. Good staff, who were eager to please. Excellent location; walking distance to all museums, restaurants and the station.

The bathroom was disproportionately small. 29 steps from outside street-level door to lift on floor 0 - reception was on floor 1 - could be a problem for less-able travelers. Breakfast was cold, but well presented and as much as you wanted. Room had good views over main shopping street and Palazzo Strozzi, but was consequently noisy at night.

The hotel was gorgeous. It was in a great location - close to everything and an easy walk to the train station! The hotel was spotlessly clean and the towels were constantly changed and the curtains drawn in the evening! It was safe; The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The breakfast was the best I had in italy. I was with my Mum and we both loved the hotel and thought it was very good value!

Clean, comfortable and big room, good location and nice staffs. We were nicely upgraded to superior room.

I was very pleased with my stay at the hotel. Everything was well done and the location is fantastic.

Wireless internet was difficult in the first room I was assigned. Better in the 2nd room.

Dichtbij centrum van Florence, op loopafstand van alle toeristische attracties in de haute couture wijk (naast Gucci etc). Het ontbijt en gastvrijheid was uitstekend! Nette kamers waarbij je elke dag schone handdoeken kreeg en men 2 x per dag het bed opmaakte!

Het hotel wordt gekwalificeert als een 4 sterren hotel echter is er vrij veel lawaai van buiten (drukke straat) en dus veel lawaai op onze kamer (weet niet hoe het met de andere kamers was) en je mag naar mijn inziens verwachten dat je een schone douchebak of bad hebt in plaats van een uitklap douchescherm. Overigens was de douche verder van alle luxe voorzien en uitermate netjes.
