Albergotto is an elegant 19th-century building on Florence's designer shopping street, a 5 minute walk from the Uffizi Gallery. It offers great service, elegant rooms and a varied buffet breakfast. This 4-star hotel overlooks Palazzo Strozzi in the heart of Florence, 5 minutes by foot from Ponte Vecchio and Florence Cathedral. Santa Maria Novella Train Station is just a 10-minute walk away. Rooms at the Albergotto Hotel have a classic design with hardwood floors and patterned bed linens. All air conditioned, they also come with extra-large beds, free Wi-Fi and a minibar and teakettle. Each one has a private bathroom with a hairdryer and luxury toiletries. You will find a bar and a 24-hour front desk with baggage storage area and daily newspapers. The staff can provide useful local knowledge, restaurant recommendations and tourist information. Hotel Rooms: 22

The location it was in the middle of shopping street and close to everything, but bear in mind that Florence is a small city that you could easily access to every monuments by walking around 20 minutes First, you need to climb around 15 stairs to get to the lift then the lift stops at first floor which was the reception area which was a pain in the neck as the lift stops in the 1th floor every time we used it.The lift was very cramped (at most for 3 persons). Our room was quite hot, so I do not recommend this hotel particularly in summer time. The breakfast was awfully poor.the staff were not attentive.

Location, Loacation, Location! Right in the heart of Florence - above the Gucci store on the main fashion thoroughfare. Staff were extremely courteous, room was quaint, spacious and had a very modern bathroom. Extremely clean. Breakfast was more than adequate.

Polite Staff. Delux room was comfortable and spacious. Kettle with Coffe/tea etc tray and fresh milk on demand. English speaking. Were pleased with baggage collection and also upon leaving due to the amount of steps. The hotel is above a designer shop. On the hotel write-up it states there are a couple of entrance steps. In fact there are 29 curved at the top steps to climb. Then a lift to a narrow reception on the next floor. We ourselves were ok but this is misrepresentation and would not be kind for the very elderly. All internet out of order during Christmas stay.

Mainly location, right opposite the Strozzi Palace. But I also liked it because it was warm and welcoming, has friendly and professional staff, all the bed rooms seem to be different (not boring plastic carbon copies), lots of old, almost antique furniture, comfortable public areas, and a good continental breakfast. Essentially just a nice, old fashioned Florentine hotel and exactly what I was hoping for..

We liked their city center location and short walking distances to all museums and churches. The staff are warmer and more polite than other hotel we stayed in this trip. The breakfast service is great. Staff is very warm and quickly come down to the street door level to help carrying luggage to our room when buzzed. We can hear street noise up to 1pm. Elevator does not go down to the street level.

The location was excellent, in the heart of things. Within 10-15 minutes walk we could get to museums, restaurants and other side of the River. Staff very helpful. The room was comfortable and very clean and the Continental breakfast was extremely good. We would have no hesitation recommending the hotel to friends. The stairs could be challenging for people with any sort of mobility problems.

Having visited Florence two years ago, we were looking for a good quality hotel in a good location with friendly, knowledgable staff and the Albergotto certainly gave us all of that. As independent travellers we landed at Pisa, took a direct train to Florence smn, the hotel is five minutes by taxi or ten minutes walking. Excellent. All of the main sites within Florence are within easy walking distance and with the train station being so close Tuscany is easily accessible. We would definitely recommend the Albergotto.

The Central Location of the hotel was very good, close to main attractions, free wi-fi when you asked at reception, rooms were clean and they had air conditioning as well. Price was reasonable. Upon arrival at the hotel, you have to climb a flight of stairs to get to the tiny reception area, which can be difficult with bags. Our room was quite small and there were quite a few cracks in the walls and seemed in need of a bit of repair. Would not class the hotel as a 4 star more like a 3 star. Breakfast was okay, nothing to write home about, breads, cheeses, juices etc. a pretty small spread. The lift has seen better days, quite old and small. All in all, handy hotel for location, I thought the room we getting would have been larger as in the pictures but of course you never get the room you see on the website! Satellite TV only seems to cater for Italian, German speakers.

It is situated in the center of the town. I didn't like the room, it was very small, with no view and the air conditioner was very loud and not so efficient. It is strange that the 4 star hotel doesn't have a proper reception.

After a long trip involving planes, trains and buses we were greeted in Albergotto with an upgrade to a superior room facing the massive Palazzo Strozzi and all major luxury stores nearby (Gucci, Prada, Bulgari, Ferragamo...). The bed, room and bathroom were spacious and it didn't take long for us to enjoy the great location: the bridges Ponte Vecchio and Ponte della Santa Trinitá, the main square Piazza della Reppublica, the Duomo, the Palace Vecchio or the Uffizzi Gallery were in a five-to-ten minutes walk reach. Getting to and from the train station was also easy. The breakfast didn't have the greatest of choices but had enough croissants, bread, juices, waters, coffees, fruits and cakes. The staff was helpful and it made for an excellent seven- night staying in the unforgettable city of Florence. Being an historical building Albergotto hasn't got an elevator on the ground floor. You'll have to climb a flight of stairs to the elevator (but you can ring for the doorman to carry your baggages) and only then you'll get into the reception (on the following floor). The hotel is quite old-fashioned so for those who are expecting modernity perhaps it isn't suited. But when you're surrounded by such beauty...

Location is excellent and the hotel is in relatively good shape. Our friends had problems with air conditioning and had a very uncomfortable night their first night at the hotel (were moved the next day).

Location was ideal for exploring Florence. Helpful staff. Excellent complimentary breakfast. No elevator to the street level so either you ring a porter or you carry bags up a flight of stairs. Once you are up the first flight of stairs, there is an elevator.

The staff were very polite and helpful, the location was excellent. The price was much more expensive compared to what the hotel offered (average hotel facilities, old fashioned room), however it is acceptable if you consider location and how much other hotels in Florence cost.
