Friendly staff, Andrea, the General Manager, made sure everything was first rate and would help with locations, restaurants, etc. We ate at the restaurant on site that was also excellent as well as a great value.

It was the most perfect peaceful spot to be, if you want to be near a town, but also want to be out in the idyllic countryside, the best of both worlds. Lovely to have such a good restaurant and v friendly and helpful staff. A bonus having a swimming pool and lovely garden to enjoy

We arrived late and were greeted by charming staff and lovely plates of salami, cheese and chilled wine that we had pre-ordered and ate in an outdoor gazebo. Rooms were spacious and food great. All the staff were friendly and helpful. I would thoroughly recommend- and in fact we are returning very soon.

Staff were extremely friendly and gave some great tips on local places to visit around the area. The surroundings of the hotel are beautiful. Nice breakfasts and the restaurant food is very good.

Location was difficult to find at first but fortunately we had a satnav. Otherwise nothing really, we had a very pleasant stay

My husband and I loved our stay at Villa Marta. Apart from the weather, our stay at the hotel was perfect in every respect - including the detailed driving instructions to reach the hotel from the main road, which could have been a problem otherwise. The hotel staff could not do enough to help us, from the moment we stepped through the door, to the minute we left. As we had cool, rainy weather on quite a few days, it was an absolute joy to be able to put the central heating on in our bedroom and be cosy and warm within minutes - as was the rest of the hotel. Our bedroom was spotless and the ladies who cleaned it were also very friendly. The breakfast was excellent and there was a varied choice of food, which was still plentiful at the end of the serving period. I loved the bowls of fresh fruit! We ate in the restaurant most evenings and again the service was superb. There was plenty of choice and the surprise complementary 'starter' each evening was a nice touch. The prices were not the cheapest, but the quality of food was excellent. The restaurant was also very cosy. The staff were also very helpful in suggesting places to visit and we certainly visited places we would not have thought of ourselves, such as the village of Vinci and lovely Barga in the Garfagnana. The hotel gardens were quiet and well-tended and, had we been in the heat of summer, the lovely swimming pool with the glorious scenery behind, would have been a joy to use. We would highly recommend this hotel to others and hope to return ourselves in the near future.

As the hotel is an older building, albeit with lots of character, there are stairs to negotiate and so carrying cases up and down is not easy. Having said that, the staff took our cases up for us and I am sure they would have been more than happy to carry them down too. We could also have done with a light in our luggage corner, which was very discreetly tucked away, but very dark to use. These are very minor points.

Everything! The room was spacious and the bathroom was great with a big shower. The grounds around Villa Martha are spectacular. The staff is really nice. It is quiet and country like but very close to Lucca. We didn't want to leave!

The atmosphere. Relaxing and welcoming. Beautiful views and grounds. Attractive buildings. Great food and wine.

Not fault of hotel but route to and from Lucca was hard work. Not close enough to walk but roads quite hectic and confusing. Wouldn't like to try and find hotel without Satnav. Had to pay 10euros for wifi, should be free at all hotels, certainly ones at this level.

Lovely Hotel in a brilliant location and lovely meal!! Very Peaceful yet very easy to get into Lucca, nice to have the town on your doorstep but have a quiet location with lovely pool and great service, would highly recommend this to anyone going to Lucca!!

Very pleasant atmosphere, good rooms and friendly staff. Large grounds to include spotless pool. Restuarant was excellent, very attentive manager who was a delight and went out of his way to explain the menu and offer a good selection of wine. Good access to Pisa and Lucca.

A very enjoyable stay

Nice hotel with beautiful surroundings and a nice swimming pool. This a good place to relax. You can also visit Lucca and Pisa or enjoy the Tuscany landscape. Room was nice and spacious. Breakfast is good and we recommend the restaurant for dinner.

Such a great place! We really enjoyed our stay. You can have a nice bike ride to Lucca. Highly recommended if you are looking for a place outside Lucca to rest. Restaurant was good as well, we had a nice dinner. Breakfast is good as well.

A great place to relax with swimming pool and restaurant in a peaceful location. Great location for its proximity to Lucca which can be reached by bike or car. Rooms very comfortable with lovely bathroom. Wonderful food in the restaurant and reasonably priced. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Originally felt that extra charges for bike rental from the hotel was a shame, however, very well priced for a day compared to renting in Lucca at an hourly rate.

A wonderful location, very helpful staff and everything needed for a relaxing stay. Breakfast and dinner outside was a real bonus. Perfect for a visit to Lucca and Pisa

A lovely hotel run in a very ordered way with immaculate attention to detail. The pool is great and the restaurant is very good indeed.Would definitely stay again.

The hotel is very ideal for family reunions. Breakfast was just perfect (not too stuffing) with a great view of the mountains... The gardens, swimming pool and lounge areas outside were great with a nice breeze all throughout Rooms were beautifully decorated and very clean. Staff were very accommodating, helpful and friendly, always with smiles.. Parking was also great and we felt good security..Will definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends and might go back again in the future, one never knows... I would rate this hotel "10". Unfortunately, this online questionnaire does not allow me to answer the other questions.
