Hotel Aldini's location can't be beat, right around the corner from the splendor of the Duomo & a few minute's walk from the Accademia, Uffizi, Train Station, etc. We booked the triple room (only one available) and it was very large, plenty of room for 3 people. Staff is courteous and friendly without intruding. Breakfast is a good variety and you have your choice of coffee, cappucino, etc. I would love to return to Florence & would definitely book Aldini.

The Hotel is located on the 3rd floor of an old building but the sign on the street wall made it easy to locate, and it is only short, interesting walks to the Uffizi and Ponte Vecchio. The large bedroom had two windows which looked down to the Street leading to the Duomo, which was just a very short distance away. For an Italian Hotel, the bathroom was very large and well appointed. The good buffet Breakfast was served in small dining area and reception staff were pleasant and helpful and there are plenty of eating places nearby for other meals and gelato. The very tiny elevator held just four adults or two adults plus luggage.

I just loved it : when stepping out of the hotel, I was in front of the Duomo, in the middle of the pedestrian area. Quite incredible for such a reasonable price. I enjoyed as well the room which was quite big for a single-bedroom. I feared a bit that the Duomo bells might be too noisy.. If it could be challenging to talk when they bell, that does not last long and stops during the night, so it was not an issue at all, on the contrary. Even in late October the town is over-crowded so maybe the (pedestrian) streets might be much more noisy in summer with open windows ...however, I doubt that could be an issue as the hotel is well above the street level (3rd floor). I will definitely go back to this hotel should I come to visit Florence again.

Location, location, location...few feet away from Duomo, and in the middle of all the shopping streets of Florence. Very efficient staff. The room doors were not sound-proofed enough to prevent noise from adjacent rooms/hallway

The location near the Duomo is unbeatable, but this also makes it tough if you're driving in. I've driven into the Florence city center once before and had no problems so I ventured in again, however, the hotel is tough to find and my gps was having a terrible time staying connected. In the end, I parked out at Stazione Porto al Prato and taxi'd in. Staff was pretty good, not outright rude but not overly friendly or helpful. For the money, the location is what makes this hotel worth it. Just make sure you know right where it is, even if walking, or you'll be searching for it. Hotel signage could be better, the small placard on the side of the building was hard to see. Once you know where it is though, no problem.

Our reception was so cordial and warm that we felt right at home. Breakfast was more than satisfactory and the location could not have been better. We could walk to museums, art galleries, and churches and when we came back we had an elevator instead of more stairs to climb. The view from our window of the Duomo was incredible. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Jackie from usa

This hotel was excellent for location, we could easily walk to everything we wanted to see. It was right next to the Duomo, but we were at the back of the hotel and therefore were not too disturbed by the bells in the morning. This was a small family run hotel, and very friendly staff. It was in fact formerly a palace. Having visited Florence for the first time, were not aware of the fact that all the Museums etc close between 5 - 6.30, and there are enormous queues.

The location was unbeatable. We were less than 100 feet from the Duomo and we could walk to all major landmarks - the train station, The David, Arno River, etc. Unfortunately, the air conditioning wasn't working in both of our rooms and the wireless internet was spotty.

We were most welcome and felt at home. The room was simple but comfortable, with a view on the campanile. The air-conditioning was appreciated and we also appreciated the calm and quietness though we were in a busy part of town. The location was ideal and allowed us to drop in several times in the day to rest without having to walk long distances.

“Friendly, helpful staff current in English. We loved the breakfast (included in the price) featuring local cold cuts and cheese, homemade pastry and bread, different types of cereal, milk, yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee, tea and of course capuccino. The room, minimalistic in design, offered a high quality (king!) mattress and a rather small bathroom with a tiny shower (did not impact too much on the very good stay we had there). Very clean! The hotel is located 10 minuteswalking distance from the Duomo and Plazza de la Signoria, 5 minutes from Santa Maria de la Novela and 5 minutes from Ponte Vecchio. We highly recommend it for a short city trip. ” Mirela, East Greenwich |
