Fairness of people at the reception desk (they called pizzeria to order pizza for us). General cleanliness of the room/hotel. Hotel near Vatican (by walking). Be carefull on Mondays; all restaurants in the neighboorhood are closed. Hopefully it was possible to eat inside the room (there is a groceries at 30 meters with nice salami, olives and italian food). Tv without french programs (except tv5). Hotel far from city center (bus or train necessary). No bus station near the hotel which is located at the end of "Monte del Gallo" street so you need to "climb" the street to arrive to "Alessandrino hotel" (nok for disabled people or with problems to walk).

Reception staff very helpful and informative. Top Management very keen to ensure that we were taken well care of. Breakfast hours too short, when you travel with a baby, as we did. We had to rush to complete breakfast at 9.30, when the responsible would close door and clean up.

Hotel Alessandrino is just a middling place to stay for everyone whose purpose is mainly to travel the area of destination. Knowing that you have a place to stay at the end of the day's trek and a place to conduct personal hygiene to start and end your activities is acceptable enough to enjoy a short vacation. The hotel location is only a mile or a kilometer and a half to St. Peter's Basilica. The hotel receptionists were the only ones we had encountered and they were satisfactory with their occupations. As far as being specific, the convenience for smokers is great because they have a balcony right outside the room, where guests do not have to go outside of the hotel to smoke. Hotel Alessandrino provides an adequate service for the guests. We always send emails to the hotels where we stay just to confirm our reservations and any requests if we have any. Prior to arriving at this hotel, we made sure that we have the extra bed or we have enough beds for everyone in our group. Upon arrival, our room has a king size bed (large bed) and two twin size beds. We were travelers of two couples and a young child. The twin size beds should not have been a problem putting together for our parents if only they were the same height. Therefore, our parents slept separately on each bed. Our daughter had to wedge herself on our bed, during the first night. This inconvenience was resolved the following night for we had to show our exchanged email with the receptionists. As far as the cleanliness, they would only make the beds and empty the trash cans. They don't collect the plates you used, did not replace the used cups, did not sweep and/or mop the floors (sleeping area and bathroom), they did not wipe or clean the bathroom; and did not dust the furnitures well. We chose this hotel thinking all general standards as other hotels will be met. However, a place to sleep, shower and storage of personal belongings are just good enough to stay in this hotel just for a very short time.

The rooms were clean, and the view from the roof is nice. The wireless is free. The breakfast was wonderful. The location was great -- near the San Pietro metro stop. A couple bus lines run near there, too. If you take a taxi to the Trastevere Station, you can get the train to the airport without going through Termini. Our daughters' bathroom had a tub with a shower head but no shower curtain. Ours had a partial shower door. Hard to keep the floor dry. Not a big complaint, just thought it was strange.

The staff were friendly and had a decent knowledge of bus routes. It was out of the way for the main Rome attractions and entailed a lot of walking and then buses (no metro station nearby) or you had to get taxis. The breakfasts were not good with very little choice of cereals, hot food not hot, and bread rolls too hard to eat. No bar, only a fridge behind the breakfast counter. The room was not very spacious and you could hardly swing a cat in the en-suite. The whole experience was very disappointing and spoiled the trip to Rome slightly.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. Bus 34 brought us right into town and 24 hour passes were 4Eu. We had a refrigerator and air conditioning. Wifi in room was slow but the single computer downstairs was fast until some knuckle head broke the mouse. They were also nice in letting me borrow a plug adapter for my computer. Europe needs ice machines!!! Crazy old school way of thinking. The staff was very kind in providing me did a little ice for some of our own drinks.

The staff was very courteous. I found the hotel a home away form home. It is a very quiet place to stay. Free internet facilities with access to computers were available 24 hours. I will recommend this hotel to all my friens who would be visitnign Rome. The only problem was access to the hotel. It is on the top of a hill and walkig up the hill all the time was not a comfortable experience.

The location w/ respect to Vatican City was excellent; wrt the other sites we wanted to see... Not so good. The breakfast also included eggs, which we did not expect in a "continental" breakfast, and the American coffee w/ warm milk was pretty good most days. We stayed 5 nites. The evening desk clerk was very curt and not very helpful. The bed was very hard; the bed covers were frayed. The shower was very tiny, but it served its function. I do wish the European hotels would loose the bidet and enlarge the showers!! The "cooling" equipment was not workable... The hotel was at the top of a big hill, and after trekking up the hill every nite, it would have been nice to have some cool air, even vented and blown from the outside would have be acceptable. But the window had no screens, only shutters, so we couldn't even throw the windows open to cool the room.

Very Compact hotel. Easy reach of Vatican. No tea making faciities in the room. Charge for a just a cup of tea in the eveining was very expensive. Budget facilities but more expensive than budget price. If I were to recommend to a friend I would need to advise them that they are getting budget facilities for the cost of their stay. Apart from all of this we enjoyed our stay at the Alessandrino Hotel and would reccommend it to others who wanted to be near the Vatican.

The bed was really comfortable. The hotel was really quiet. It was really easy to get to the hostel from both the airport (by train) and to the city center (by bus), although you have to walk a little upwards for 2-3 minutes. Breakfast starts at 7:30 am only. That's rather late.

The view was nice. The personnel was really helpful. It's a typical family hotel with no surprise, neither positive, nor negative. The breakfast is ok. It's a bit difficult regarding accessibility. Though it's close to the Vatican, it's on the top of a hill (Monte del Gallo) and it obliges you to walk quite a bit to get back to the hotel if you do not want to pay 10 to 20 € everytime you gat back to the hotel. Also no bar or relaxing area so you have to stay in your room if you want to relax, which is not always easy when you'r a family with two kids.
