Score from 430 reviews Wonderful
A very pleasant experience. Can't find any fault with this hotel. We were in Room 9, which was nice and spacious. We could see the sea from the balcony, which got the sun each evening so great to sit out there with a cool drink. Highly recommended.
Friendly people, Good rooms with aircon and international TV programs ( 2 German channels ZDF and RTL), Restaurants available close to hotel
Hotel is conveniently located, close to the beach and at the same time not on the main promenade, so there is not much noise at night. There is also a large supermarket nearby. Rooms are nice and clean. Staff is simply excellent: very friendly and helpful.
Near beach, restaurants and supermarkets
15 - 20 min walk to old city, no tea making facilities in room
Very helpful staff in a small, comfortable and personable establishment
Need to have wifi in rooms not just at reception
We thought the staff were very helpful and nice, and the rooms + beds were OK
The breakfast was very poor, especially for one of us who do not eat gluten. Also, ut was too sweet
We stayed 5 nights in Hotel Alguer at the beginning of our holiday and then one more night at the end of our holiday in order to get flight home. We felt very well looked after. The service is very good. We had a decently sized room with a small balcony. We liked the location to the hotel. It is very close to the beach, to two supermarkets (there is a fridge in the rooms to keep water etc) and to the bus stop for the airport. Also, the walk into the old town is very pleasant. We liked that breakfast was included as we found this wasn't always the case with the other hotels we stayed in on this holiday.
The Manager, family and staff couldn't be more helpful. We would highly recommend this Hotel as a base for budget travellers.
Breakfast is minamilist continental. Perhaps some fresh bread, meat and cheese with a slight increase in room rate would have greater appeal. Alghero City fathers MUST clean the streets and start to remove the vegetation from beaches at the end of April. The Old Town is not the only tourist draw. Take a tip from Bosa. Hoteliers unite and sort City Hall!
Best qualities: the staff - kind, responsive and accomodating, the cleanliness - superb, the nice room...20 min from the old town, 30 min from maria pia Beach, but the city beach is just across the street. Location is quite good.
The breakfast - it was very, very poor;-( the wifi - you have to log again and again every 5 min;-((( (WHY!?) for a short stay, it is ok, but if I stayed longer, it would have irritated me a lot.
I couldnt fault my stay at Hotel Alguer, comfortable modern room, nice italian breakfast, lovely coffee, pleasant friendly hosts - father and son. Looking forward to staying there again on my return.
Everything was very, very good. The hosts were super friendly and helped us a lot, giving advice where we could rent a scooter, where the best beaches were etc. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and the facilities modern.
We knew we could expect a sweet breakfast, so missing cheese and meat weren't a problem. However, the juice was really awful from concentrate and didn't taste good at all. That is the ONLY thing thoug, everything else was perfect!
