We make a good research and finally choose B&B alle Fornaci between other 12 hotels. Perfect location - Just next to San Pietro square with bus stops 20m of the hotel's door! The view from the room was incredible. Remodelled and clean rooms. The traditional roman building doesn't contain an elevator (already known from B&B's description), although the stairs are big and comfortable to use. The service was excellent - Friendly stuff, always ready to help us. You can reach and discover many sightseens by feet through a beautiful area. We suggest you to plan your trip at summer and explore every "piazza". Hope to visit Rome again and choose B&B alle Fornaci as a base.
The friendliness of the staff. They are very helpfull and engaged.
Avoid the restaurant just next to the B&B. This is not a restaurant but a snack bar.
Very very good B&B. Staff very friendly, catered excellent service, which made our stay more comfortable. In- room tea and coffee,& other amenities. The little balcony/terrace with view of the Vatican dome where we ate breakfast and have evening coffee/tea. The location, & even the free white parking space wasn't hard to find though very close to the Vatican. Of all the 8 hotels and 1 B&B ( in Berlin, Prague,Budapest, Ljubljana,Venice, Assisi, Rome, Innsbruck)we have stayed on this 3-week vacation, this B& B has even outweighed the cleanliness and service from the two 4-Star hotels we have stayed.
Although it's on 4th floor, with no elevator still this is a great B&B. We booked 2 rooms, and the wi-fi in the 3-persons room was very slow during our stay (Hopefully it has changed).
The place is very very clean and comfy. Great location and helpful host. Abundant breakfast served in the room. Cannot say anything negative about this B&B.
Loved the location - 3 minutes walk from the Vatican City. As we arrived our host Ferdie met us at the bottom of the staircase for 5 floors and helped carry our luggage up. He was friendly and welcoming and they had a nice bottle of wine waiting in our room as a gift since we were celebrating our 25th Anniversary. We were very impressed with the breakfast which is served in your room - nice spread of salami, mortadella, cheese, fruit, pastries, juice, coffee, yogurt. Definitely recommend booking the room with the view to the Cupola ( dome at St Peter's Basilica) - it is the only room that has a balcony too. The other 3 rooms have a view to Via Fornaci but no balcony.
The tough part was having to climb 5 flights of stairs - their are no elevators. Also the water for showers is warm not hot, but the positives outweighed the negatives.
The young man who works there really gives much help and very kind.
Location of the hotel is very near with the St.Peter square. The breakfast is great, for B&B more than enough for us.
Our room is on the 4th floor and no elevator in that building as it is an old building. So whenever you go out you have to be sure that nothing left behind otherwise you have to up and down the stairs many time.
The B&B is very clean and well furnished. Very much enjoyed breakfast is room which was really good with lots to choose from. Freddie the only staff member we met was great very helpful. AirCon was a real bonus and worked well.
As mentioned buy others the 4 flights of stairs are not particularly what you want after walking around Rome all day. Rooms on the front over look Via Fornaci and very busy noisy street, not so bad when your on the fourth floor but not so good if you like seclusion in your room.
The view from the window & the location . The personal service from Freddie was excellent, nothing was too much trouble. The facilities were spotlessly clean.
The 90 steps to the apartment!!!!
Extremely close to the Vatican, great breakfast and friendly staff. The room was large and air conditioning was great.
We had to wait half an hour to get in, as no one was there when we arrived.
Great location next to Vatican. And direct bus going to main train station from 100m from apartment. Great personnel and breakfast served to the room
you will stay fitoor and as apartment in 5th floor and there's no lift
Staff was fabulous. Never have received such a good service in Europe.
No elevator. You have to lift your luggage to the fourth floor.
Everything! The location was great! Only about a block from san pietro, a few meters away from a local grocery store, down the street were some gift shops and restaurants, Hard Rock Cafe was only about a 12€ taxi ride away, it was perfect! Ferdie, was awesome (he was the guy who welcomed us and served our breakfast, which was a pretty good one too). I felt pretty safe in the B&B. I would have definitely stayed here with my husband and kids if I were traveling with them. I highly recommend this B&B especially if you plan on seeing the Pope while there; you wouldn't have to walk too far. Just FYI there is no lift/elevator and I think they are on the third floor. But Ferdie helps you with your luggage. The best part of all was there is AC in the room! I slept like a baby (I live in Europe and do not have AC).
Location was great! It's just around Vatican and is accessible to busses. We didn't have a hard time going to places we planned to visit. Staffs were very accommodating! Never had encountered such as warm and welcoming as them! My friend and I appreciate the briefing Ferdinand did. He gave us the insight of Rome, where to go, which is the best place to eat to, how to go there and such. All in all, it was a pleasure to stay at B&B, never felt like we're away from home! Will definitely come back!
That guy on reception Fergie was very nice. Breakfast was delicious and place is very cosy
We was lost a little cause there nothing pointing at that B&B in this building (no signs). But maybe that's just our first time in Rome.
It's really well located, cozy and the breakfast it's more than enough - you can even save a lunch with them :) Bed are not the most comfortable ones I have ever been but the value for money is very good! Everyday cleaning service and the guys were easy to reach.
Outside bathroom although it was private - it's indicate it on the booking so it wasn't a surprise :)
Excellent location, very friendly staff, funky interior, clean and comfortable. Breakfast brought to room (some may not like there is no breakfast room). Can eat on tiny balcony with a view of the Vatican. Our room at the back (away from the road) had no road noise at all.
The B&B is in an apartment on the 5th floor of a huge old building. No lift, so this means a lot of stairs every day. No sign outside to tell you that you arrived at the correct address - the only evidence is the tiny label on the doorbell. No sound insulation between rooms - hope the other guests are nice and quiet!
Bathroom not en suite
The breakfast was awesome and you can't beat the view of the Vatican and location!!! Great friendly staff!!!
4 flights of stairs but worth it!!
Everything about the place is great from location to staff, comfort, cleanliness and food. Specially Ferdie, he is a very good host. In short you couldn't get anything better in this price range.
I can point out two things that can be improved: the wifi strength and toothpaste which was missing in the toilet.
The room is great with books and pretty decoration!
Ferdie was very helpful
Perfect place to stay!! Friendly Staff, 2 minutes walk to San Pietro! Tasty breakfasts (maybe not enough for adult man)! The best place I have ever stayed in Rome!
There was poor wi-fi but after we raised this question this issue was solved
Atmosphere Unique design View Location - 200m from St.Peter's Nice personel
Breakfast - no buffet, just a standard set of packed sweets (honey, jam) and a bun. The same thing twice in a row (guys - please give us at least some variety. If one is paying >100EUR per night you could do a better job here...)
Location is very good - really close to the sightseeings; friendly owner; windows looking to the street, but street is not noisy
Minor thing - hair dryer - makes sense to change :)
