Great location,kind staff,clean and nice
A litle bit noisy outside.
the location, the value can't be better, amazing view of beautiful Siena, would be back!
check out a bit early (10am)
Architecture of the building and the fact that one stepped out one's door into the shadow of San Domenico. Breakfast room staff very good. Great shower!
For the price, I thought this was a good hotel. It's location is not far from the center of the city and close to the Basilica di San Domenico. If you arrive by car, you can drive as far as the Basilica or a parking lot below the church. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast adequate. Free wifi was good. There is an elevator to go between floors.
Breakfast was only breads, cereal, fruit, yogurt. It should have had eggs, a meat, and cheese. My room did not have a view of the city; perhaps other rooms do. The shower was very compact and the curtain stuck to my back while I was bathing. No tv in the room.
Hotel was in a very good location that allowed one to easily reach the Campo and Duomo, and also the bus and the weekly market locations. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful in providing advice and directions. Our economy twin bed room was sparse but very clean and comfortable.
Location The building itself is clean. The halls spacious. Room 32 no separate shower. Curtain only. Not to everyone's satisfaction. Nice patio out front if you want to eat or drink...not in the rooms.
Very noise if you are in room 32. We had no TV but our neighbour's was very loud. Street noise from an unhappy barking dog. Wifi connection poor. Breakfast needs more variety. Real plates would have been nice.
After the second night, we had a huge amount of insect bites all over our hands and legs. A doctor stated that these most likely are bites of bedbugs. The hotel staff didn't care much about. We only got a new room after complaining heavily. We don't know if they tried to do something against the bad bugs afterwards. It was difficult to convince them to check the room.
The hotel was located in a great location with fabulous views nearby - and a nice walk to and from the Campo and surrounding sites. The room was comfortable and suitable but not a 'wow'.
I thought the breakfast was very bland and boring - with most things being pre-packaged goods. There were bananas and yoghurts though, which was nice. Also, it would have been nice to have had a kettle in the room or mugs and boiling water available for tea (in the evening etc).
The location of this hotel is great, right in Siena and away from the crazy busy streets.
Be careful, only some of the hotel has been updated. My room was a cross between a college dormitory and a hospital. If you stay for multiple days breakfast doesn't really change.
Very nice breakfast - fresh brioche in strong coffee, kind staff, clean room, free parking nearby
Walls are very thin...
Nice hotel, near Basilica San Domenico. Because it is in the ZTL, it was not easy to reach (we left the car 1km away - via B. Bonci - it's free, but you can also ask arrange at the hotel to get car access permission nearby). The breakfast was rich, but Italian style: sweets, coffee, fruits, juice. It is not to far from the Dome. I would recommend staying here.
View, quite neighbourhood
The hotel is in a very nice location. It made it easy to see the sights. The breakfast was substantial.
One night there was commotion in the next room. I could hear everything as if I was right there. So there is no soundproofing between walls it seems.
location, facilities, price
we were in a room close to the reception so it was occasionally noisy in the night
Possibility of parking very limited
Staff friendly and helpful. Cleanliness. Adequate breakfast - continental. Buses close by - local use. Bus Station 10 mins walk away for buses to places some distance away. Major sights within walking distance (the long way round!!) Small garden terrace - a welcome place to sit out.
Very simple accommodation but clean. Bathroom minute!! We had the misfortune to be staying over Friday and Saturday nights when the rock band was playing until 2 am each morning. Not the hotel's fault but didn't make for a good sleep on both nights
Our room had a great view of the Duomo. Room was clean. Staff was friendly and gladly gave us food and bus advice. There was a fantastic pizza place just at the entrance to the hotel.
A bit of a walk to the main square.
Ideally located close to all the attractions. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Abysmal sound proofing considering the property was renovated - you can hear couples next door talking normally - parking problematic -
The staff was really helpful. I wanted to change to a room with balcony and they immediately did the switch with no problem/extra cost at all. The view from the rooms with balcony is amazing and the lady in the breakfast room is really kind. All in all, Alma Domus is a great value for money hotel, situated just 5-10 min walk from Piaza del Campo
- 10 mins walk to Piazza del Campo and the duomo - excellent breakfast - helpful staff - right opposite to the hotel are couple of good restaurants
- no views
The room was on the fourth floor and the views were magnificent. It was also very central to all the main attractions and restaurants yet quiet on a night. Would recommend it highly as an excellent place to stay in Siena.
The breakfast was abit disappointing as it was only sweet food and we like savoury. Maybe they could at least have put some cheese or cheese spread out. The bread was lovely and ok if you like cakes.
this hotel was in a great location to get everywhere but far enough that you didn't get the huge crowds. good breakfast, as clean as any place i've been. restaurants less than 20 feet away (i think 4-5) outside courtyard in front to hang out ,have some wine etc. if you can get it ask for a room with a view we booked spur of the moment so they were all full.there are a few steps to deal with getting in but they have a elevator once you're in also a real nice room to hang out in or use their computer. i would definitely stay again.
ONLY NICE VIEW
AWFUL SMELL TO THE ROOM AND TO THE CORRIDORS, SO SMALL, NO COMPARISON WITH THE PICTURE YOU SEE, POOR BREAKFAST, STAFF DID NOT ANYTHING TO CHANGE OUR ROOM THAT IT WAS SO DIRTY, SO SMALL BATHROOM
Beautiful location, the hotel is near to the town center and my room had a gourgeus view on Siena.
Rooms are not much soundproof, it is easy to be awaken by neighbours who get up early even if they are not making a lot of noise.
