The hotel was in a good location not far from via nazionale. The staff was exellent and helped us. Internet in the lobby The hotelroom had no working fridge, the tv was small and too high up for us to see. It wasnt really clean, the room was very small ,which dont get fooled on the pictures. The bathrooms was 20 cm high up and the bath was tiny which made it not possible to bath my infant in. The door handle you couldnt look from the inside which made my son open up the door 20 times.and run out. Thank god for the fan otherwise it would be too hot in the room. we slept there for 1 night and found another hotel the same day as arriving for the next night. wouldnt recommend it for families with small children. but it is perfect for singles or people who are just there to sleep.

It's ideal for sightseeing. I liked how close it was to Termini station, even at our first time in Rome we've arrived in 5 min. The staff was helpful There's only 1 elevator and no stairs. (At least we couldn't find it) It gets crowdy every morning.. The food tends to run out around 9, though you can eat till 9:30. GF was somplaining to smell also coming from the bathroom.

The location is excellent , walking distance from the Roma Termini, lots of good quality , not expensive, Italian restaurants around the hotel; The staff was good, could provide all information reliably. The laundry and the bedsheets was clean. Beds were comfortable. Shower was good, hot water with sufficient pressure. The breakfast was not up to the mark. The rooms were old, some of the furniture in our room was dirty. The toilets were old, general appearance needs improvement

location and ease to find from station. Had to pay for air condition above cost of the room which was not mentioned anywhere when booking the room. The breakfast was very minimal, it was the same everyday and not very fresh. The person working during breakfast hours always put out only 4 croissants at a time when the room was full of guests and all waiting to have the same thing as it was the only decent breakfast item on the table.

Good location Hidden costs. Had to pay for air conditioning at £15 oer day but the air conditioning unit did not work. Extremely hot during the time in Rome and had no choice but to ask for it. Breakfasts were good but if only got there in the second half of the session there would be nothing left. Would not reccommend the Hotel to anyone.

It was near railway station in Rome with good choice of resturants nearby. Easy to get to see all the sights. Staff were extremely helpful at all times. Linen and towels were clean each day. There was lots of traffic noise up until about 11pm but this was to be expected in a city centre hotel.

Hotel Altavila is located quiet near from the Termini station and metro station, so it was very convenient for us. The hotel is small, but there are all facilities (except internet). Our room was on the third floor, but the lift in the bulding worked regularly. The room was even larger than we supposed: we had two extra beds. We also liked a high ceiling. The room was cleaned every day. The staff is very friendly, they speak good English and gave us a lot of interesting information. Breakfast was included into the price. It was served downstairs in the cafe. It was very convenient to have breakfast before going to excursions. If you want to buy some more food there is a large supermarket inTermini station. I really think that it is a nice budget hotel and recommend it to all the tourists.

Staff members spoke good English, room was spacious, safe and small fridge in the room was very useful, good location next to Termini train station and both metro lines, nice double bed without any squeaks, lots of affordable places to eat next to the hotel. It was mid December with only around 10 degrees outside during the day (& 4 at night) but the heating was turned on only for 7 hours a day between 6 PM and 1 AM. So we were lucky to be two people in the room to warm up each other in the mornings/afternoons. Breakfast was quite poor - no ham, no cheese, just marmalade, cereal and croissants. The room floor was not very clean even though they "cleaned up" every day. Main elevator did not work so you had to go through the yard each time meaning that you had to dress up warmer to go down for breakfast.

Hotel staff were most helpful after I lost my wallet with cards, cash and driving license within first few hours of our stay in Rome! Flexible and helpful at all times. The location could not have been better, so near to the Metro. Advice to other travellers. Watch your belongings in crowded streets and metro especially. Cannot think of anything. We were on 6th Floor appartment, which took a while to get to in a narrow lift, but the view and space was fine.

The location - near the termini, 10 minutes walk from the airport busses, 5 minutes from metro and central bus station. In the termini there is a supermarket (Conad), where you can buy some food. The room was ok, although the bathroom was very narrow. The size of bathroom was a problem. Wc had a very specific construction. Breakfast could be better. Coffee is horrible, but you can get better, if you ask the attendant. A real problem, but obviously it is a problem of the whole Italian economy, was that the credit card terminal "did not work". We were expected to rush to banking machines, fetch cash, etc. Don't do it! When the receptionist saw we are not going for that, the mashine "started working"

1. Very nice staff, everyone can speak English well and helpful (Compare to my last stay in Barcelona...) 2. Perfect location, easy walking from Termini (which has very convenient train to FCO airport and it's also a metro station) and Republica metro station. 3. Breakfast included. 1. No wifi in the room which is very inconvenient, everybody was crowded in the lobby to get the access to the internet. 2. The facility of the hotel is very old, some of them are broken already but still usable. The closestool has a strange flushing system which doesn't always able to clean the closestool, soundproof of the room is not very good.

I like the location we were in. We were in walking distance to most of the noted landmarks such as the Coliseum, the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hills. I didn't like the bathrooms. The sink created backwater every time we used the faucet. Also the shower water wasn't consistent. The water pressure kept fluctuating, to the point where it became difficult some days to take a shower. The tub needs some re-modeling...there were a few cracks on it's interior.

Very good postion, close to both metro, crossing point lines - A and B. It's a simple hotel, with simple breakfast and we were satitified with our four nights stay there. If I return to Rome which is more then adorable, I'll choose same hotel again. It's real money value - position hotel.

I have chosen Altavilla because of its location and price. But I was really, really, disappointed. The hotel staff was not responsive at all. I asked for a glass of hot water for my elder guests as they used to drink frequently tea. The staff even did not try to arrange it and/or felt sorry that they can`t do it. Secondly, they lied regarding taxi and city tour bus. They are really not realiable.

Buffet breakfast - as many cups of coffee as you want. Great location - all historical places are accessible by foot. Thin walls - but it's a problem of all hotels in Europe.

“Very good and clean. Fantastic location with some good restaurants around. In between Roma termini station and Castro Pretorio Station. Less than 10 mins walk from each station. Basic breakfast but good italian coffee. Nice to eat on rooftop. Overall good value for money, with friendly staff, safe location and comfortable bed. Will definitely recommend this hotel.” Soo, Singapore |
