Our landlord gave us lots of useful information. We lived near the city centre and next time we visit Florence we'll rent a room there again.

Firstly, the man running this hotel is fantastic: helpful, friendly, generous and honest with his tips on places to eat (which is really needed in Florence!) Value for money this place is impossible to beat. Some might see it as being too far away, but really it is the ideal location: just outside of the chaotic tourist haunts, yet only a 5 minute walk across the bridge from everything. The room was simple but nicely decorated, clean, spacious and the bed was very comfortable. I would highly recommend it to anyone coming to this beautiful city.

Good location, easy walk from all the main attractions but just slightly off the main streets so it's nice and quiet. The owner was very welcoming and was happy to provide advice on visiting this beautiful city. As a single fe mail traveller I felt very safe and secure in this hotel but also in Florence itself.

Il proprietario e' stato gentilissimo, la camera molto bella, la posizione e' comoda rispetto al centro. Soggiorno all'Althea tutte le volte che vado a Firenze Il bagno era un po' piccolo, ma comunque funzionale

The hotel is quite simple and well located, the staff in quite nice. There is no services but the price is fair. It's not easy to contact the staff after the regular hours.

suoper friendly and super helpful english speaking staff spotless quiet fantastioc location - central but away from TOURIST infestation plaguing florence lots of hot water in decent shower and a fridge and umbrellas and a free internet COMPUTER IN THE ACTUAL ROOM !!!!! windows onto (quiet) street LOVED IT AT THIS PLACE - THE ONLY PLACE I WOULD EVER AGAN STAY IN FLORENCE. but it is not fancy and atmospheric and all that, so if you are looking for that, stay in an expensive hotel. room was very small and and had an amazing awkward layout but one eventually got used to that. the other rooms are probably less awkward

I think that the impeccable service of the staff should be rewarded: very helpful, friendly and correct. The location of this place was outstanding. Peaceful and still on walking distance to everything. Briefly this is a place to remember!

The location was a great starting point for walking around Florence. It's in a quiet area not far from the main attractions which makes it ideal for those who want to explore the city during the day (on foot) and be well rested at night. The bathrooms are too small, which can be very inconvenient for people on the heavy side (like me).

The location is perfect and the owner Antonio is very friendly and very helpful. He gave me some great restaurant recommendations as well. The room was very clean and simple. The area is beautiful and close to everything (Florence is smaller than you may think!). I truly enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend Althea Rooms to anyone traveling to Florence.

I like the location on the "other" side of the river from the main sights. It is a lively district with a less touristed feel. Plenty of restaurants and nice walking. It is a short walk to quickly be in the main section of Florence. This place is excellent value for money. It is a clean room in a good location. Antonio provides great service and speaks fluent English. For hotels I want a clean and functional place in a good location. This place offers that with excellent value.

We were met by the owner on arrival - he was so friendly and very helpful, he provided us with a map and list of recommendations (both attractions and restaurants) marking them on our map. We ate at several of the recommended places during our short stay and were not disappointed at all!!! - the first place we went for dinner was a family run traditional Italian restaurant - full of regulars and locals, all in Italian, atmosphere was amazing and food delicious!!! The hotel at first is a little hard to find and seems out of the main city - but given that you can walk 20mins and be on the other side of town the location was actually perfect. Computer with internet was in the room along with a small bar fridge too. Would definetly recommend this place!!!! Decor in the room itself might not be to everyone's taste and was perhaps a little dated, this is not necessarily a critism though as it was comfortable & homely, and I wouldn't have wanted a generic hotel room for our stay in Florence.

The best thing about Althea rooms is its location. It is very close of Pitty palace, Baboli gardens, and at a walking distance from city center. The room was nice (if you are in the city to visit spots and enjoy in night the views of florence). I will for sure stay again in this B&B, as i was very happy to choose this location for my stay (It made my visit to different spots very easy and comfortable) The washroom was a bit too small.

Friendly owner, gives good advice and restaurant options. Very cheap for being so near to all the main tourist places of Florence. You can reach most within 15 min walking. The hotel is in a nice, lively neighbourhood, with lovely places for breakfast and diner. Still you can sleep quietly without noice. With heavy luggage: be aware you may not enter this part of Florence by car without the hotel owner knowing it, as he has to ask for a permit, which he can do online. After arranging that with him, you can drive by, drop the luggage, and park in the parking lot nearby that he points out, as you can do everything by foot.

The location of the hotel was perfect, we could walk easily through the city. Besides, it is very closed (3 minutes walk) to the Piazza di Santa Spirito where one can find local, nice and relatively cheaper restaurants and bars. The hotel staff was very nice and friendly.
