Althea Rooms  

The Althea rooms very clean and comfortable. The owner, Antonio, gave us a very helpful 5-10 minute orientation to the city when we arrived and checked in.

Good price, locate in quiet but convenient area, Staff there is really really nice! Strongly recommended!

Not very easy to find for the first time

Really nice place. Its actually some rooms and you have the key. And the room its big, computer. Tv. Perfect. Really lovely!!!

the water hot from the shower its the same for all the roons. And them we have a loooooot of times only 5 minutes of hot water, then was cold. And they can do nothing! Was really cold the wether and the room warm. But terrble take cold shower. Not good. Really bad.

Cheap and comfortable, neer the city centre

I liked everything, from Antonio, the owner, who introduced us from the very first minute with a lot of useful informations, about the free parking, places where you can eat traditional food, some objectives, phones for Museum reservations, maps, policy of the city regarding the citizens and cars... The building and the room was very clean and you get the feeling of italian living, not a modern building, but an extremely italian feeling about it. The room was warm with fridge, tv, a good computer, the bathroom had shower, bideu, toilette, towels everything cleaned every day. Overall a feeling of peace and relaxation. The location is perfect for visiting.

I loved the local feel of these private rooms. Not a hotel, more like a room in an apartment. Very friendly, great facilities and perfect location to discover a local side of florence that most tourists miss.

Rooms could be a bit noisy - near a noisy bar, and the apartment was not soundproofed in any way, so if someone came home drunk the noise echoed through the whole place. Had more of a youth/backpacker vibe than we were expecting, but all in all we loved this place.

Perfect hotel for me. Old authentic Florence -- Oltrarno, ideal atmosphere, very close to attractions, but a bit outside, so you can rest of crowds of tourists. You enter to the hotel by your keys, independently of reception, like at home. In the rooms everything you can need. Only problem for me was, that sometimes I wanted to stay in the room instead of going outside.

Good location, clean, silent area and Antonio was really helpful and nice guy . I recomend Althea Rooms for short and unassuming trips .

Exploring Florence. Day trips to Lucca and Siena ... and staying in an area where local people lived, away fro tourists. Local business were friendly and welcoming as well as affordable.The landlord was incredibly helpful. In fact, we decided to stay an extra night.

One thing only: We really missed a kettle in the room.

The staff is very very friendly! He showed us all the facilities in the room and told me all the attraction and good resteraunt around. The location is also good, one can easily reach almost all places of visit within walking distance. There is PC in the room, which is convenient.

The air-conditioning machine is actually not a real one. You have to add water to that machine to make your room cool. It is thus not very powerful and maybe incomfortable to stay during hot summer.

Our host, Antonio, was very helpful and kind. He had prepared a sheet with useful telephone numbers, including taxis, local restaurants and tourist information. He has a library of guidebooks available for use, and his b&b is clean and comfortable. It's in a great location, near the Piazza Santo Spirito. I would not hesitate to recommend Althea Rooms to any traveler who is on a budget and wants to stay in a clean, safe, and accessible place.
