We stayed in the Suite, and if you are looking for real Venice, this fits the bill - provided you don't mind the steep flight of steps to reach the B&B. There was a problem with the electricity during our stay and we moved to their other location - Residenzia Nobile, just beside Academia bridge. This is very new and also good. Luciano is charming. He gave us a discount for the disruption and on my husband's 70th birthday he presented us with a traditional Venetian cake which was delicious!
Previous post mentioned the boss and staff from there was nice, that is true.
Bed is not good at all, but it is acceptable.
They did not give breakfast in first day as in included. Nobody was in the hostell in the whole day that you could ask. Second day manager came to apologize and promised to correct everything. But he didn't anything up to now except second day breakfast. The house has lots of mosquitos which you cannot defend yourself due to lack of finished repellants. Due to lack of housekeeping room was not clean enough.
It was centrally located between the Rialto Bridge and San Marco. Very quite and nice. Had air conditioner but did not need to use; however, that being said, I recommend that it is used due to the mosquitoes that are very prevalent in the area.
No bar of soap for the shower; however there was liquid soap at the sink. Travelers need to bring their own Shampoo and Conditioner and if they like, they will also need to bring their own hair dryer.
Location, Location, Location. And a price that we could not match anywhere close by. Not a 5 star place. You rent a room from a sweet your guy and stay in a room like a local. Don't expect a palace, expect to live like a middle class local. We loved it. Great eating close by - 10 min to Rialto bridge and San Marcos. Had the most fun exploring in the opposite direction. Great little piazza around the corner with local shopping. Found great local food. $1 happy hours. Even a back alley gondolier!
A bit hard to find both the apt and the owner. Let's say - part of the adventure. Breakfast was ok but a bit repackaged.
Location was good, about five to ten minutes from San Marco area, and very quiet. The building is nice and has the traditional Venetian charm that we were hoping for. We had an air conditioning unit in the room that worked well, and didn't really have issues with mosquitoes.
I am very good with maps and directions, but I was unable to follow the directions to the hotel provided online. It took us over two hours from the Rialto water bus stop to find the hotel, and we arrived to a note on the door saying the staff member would be back in 15 minutes, with a phone number. An hour later a hotel down the street allowed us to borrow their phone to make the call (our mobile phones do not work in Italy), and after a total of one and a half hours later, we were able to get inside. Granted, the staff member had been helping other guests with a problem across town, but we were stuck outside with all of our luggage, and no one else was working. Apparently it is the norm in Italy to take the initiative and follow up with the hotel after making your reservation to tell them what time you will arrive. This information was not communicated to us; we simply received instructions that check in was between 2 and 6 pm. Breakfast was simple and OK, but the coffee simply was not drinkable - it was a syrup mixed with water and microwaved. Yuck. The only tea available was mixed fruit. I would stay here again, but I would be more proactive in confirming and double checking details with the staff. I would also modify my expectations slightly. Based on location, quietness, building and decor, and price, I would recommend this hotel.
The room was huge and had air con which was good! The bathroom and shower were good, the bed was kind of hard but still had an amazing sleep! 3 flights of stairs to walk up to get to your room! Breakfast was nice! Everything was good exept the price
Was a bit pricey and would of liked a room with a view of the canals
Slept well in the beds. It was quiet. We all had our own bed and the room was very large. People were so nice and met us at midnight to walk us to the place due to a late plane. Nice breakfast and cool building.
Needed some basic toiletries in the bathroom. And the room was very low light - the chandelier only had a few lights working in it and another light didn't work. Could not read at all in the room. Also needs a mirror in the room. Was a bit hot with only the portable A/C.
Great breakfast, lovely authentic room, very helpful staff
Large room with a large bed. Room clean. Bathroom too Very quiet street. Near campo Santa Formosa. Very well located to visit the city.
Breakfast. Start too late 8.30 no possible negotiation. The content is rich but of poor quality ( every thing is industrial , nothing home made) Take care about hot water. Sometimes not working in the room.
Poor accomodation of the room , very noisy airco (not built in )Many mosquitotos, several lights not. working. Bad lock of the door from the room, very bad breakfast ( no fresf bread, bad coffee) and the last morning no breakfast ( the lady came too late, and nothing in the bathroom ( no. soap, no. shampoo only 1roll toiletpaper)
Luciano was the most helpful individual. He met us at the water taxi and helped carry our luggage to the property. The rooms are large.
No mirrors in the room.
Our host was best it did not feel we are in hotel its complete home environment.
The owners and staff were delightful. The breakfast was excellent with a marvelous selection. Luciano creates a family like environment, friendly.
- nice antique furnitures, mostly above 100 years old! - beautifully decorated breakfast room - very friendly owner whom prepares breakfast personally for the guests
- had hard time locating the hotel, but was lucky to have met a nice lady whom led us all the way to the hotel doorstep! - the air conditioning wasn't powerful enough for a big room especially during the super hot summer!
Nice location, good breakfast and a great welcoming!
Luciano was a great host who made us feel comfortable and welcome. He prepared tasty breakfasts--omlettes & excellent yogurt. We liked many things but especially appreciated the quiet and convenient location in one of our favorite parts of Venice. We'll be back!
Staff was nice. Location was good (though a little difficult to find at first, but that is likely the same for many hotels and B and B's not located right on the Grand Canal).
Beds were small. Curtains would not close all the way.
Great, helpful staff, lovely breakfasts, great location in a historic building. Double room was clean and spacious.
In room air conditioner was very loud - bring ear plugs;-)
Central located. Only couple minutes walk to the san Marco plaza and ponte riato. The owner was Very nice and friendly. He served us the breakfast personally as the staff couldn't make it in Very early morning .
Lots of mosquito at midnight as we left the windows open
Luchiano was a great host. He told us the stories about the building. We also enjoy our the breakfast he prepared for us.
Nice location, just next to Rialto bridge! Really nice stuff and owner!) Stay there and breakfast were awesome!
The manager was extremely helpful and welcoming.
A more detail map beforehand as to where it is. Took us 2 hrs to find the place and only by luck as the name is only on a gold plate on the wall next to the door.
