We loved our stay at Amalfi un po, it exceeded our expectations. Gianna was excellent, prompt response to emails. The accommodation was superior, great location, clean, everything we needed. Thank you. We will be returning again.
Location was excellent. Room was large and clean. We had a small kitchen area and were given ground coffee and a coffee maker for the stove top (moka pot). Plates and cups are provided also. Bath towels are paper thin but they were more than adequate.
Make sure you have enough loo roll and fresh towels to last you if you are staying quite a few days. Amalfi Un Po are similar to a serviced apartment. There is no one necessarily on site. If you are directly looking over the square it can be a little noisy at night and when the cathedral bell chimes in the morning.
Excellent customer service upon check in - nice rooms with good kitchenette facilities . Right in the main part of town close to restaurants
This place was in a delightful location, near to the buses and ferries and overlooking a charming little square with shops and restaurants. We stayed in the Amalfi room that had a great view out the window of the hills and the cupola of the Duomo. The room was equipped with a small kitchenette where you could prepare breakfast. There was a grocery store right around the corner. Amalfi is a great town. Gianna and Giancarlo, the owners, are gracious and helpful. I would stay in this place again if we come back to Amalfi. I prefer having an apartment to a hotel anyway. There was plenty of room to spread out a bit.
There was nothing that we didn't like. Amalfi was great and this place was great.
The staff went to every effort to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The room had a beautiful view of the piazza. Brilliant value for money.
Located above a fantastic little square with supermarket, café, restaurants, other shops. Nice view of Duomo and mountains (from our room at least). Clean, recently renovated, air conditioning. Everything worked well.
Better WiFi-connection would be improvement, otherwise great.
1) Excellent location in Piazza dei Dogi, just 150 meters from the sandy beach. 2) Good facilities, cleanliness and comfort, totally worth the price.
1) Repairs were carried out in the dwelling unit during my stay in May, 2014. 2) No Wi-Fi connection and telephone.
This apartment is on the 4th floor of an old building with no elevator. It is a bit of a climb up the stairs, but the room was worth it. This room was amazing! It is newly renovated and beautiful. We had the Amalfi room. it is really a studio apt. with a kitchenette. It has double doors that open onto a small balcony that overlooks a little piazza. It gave me one of my favorite memories of Italy - sitting in the morning sun watching Amalfi wake up. You can also see the bell tower and mosaic at the top of the Amalfi Cathedral from this window. Gianna was very friendly and helpful. She gave us good advice about where to eat. I would love to return and stay here for several days.
The apartment is on the 4th floor and there is no elevator. Luckily, we did not have any luggage with us. The last flight, the steps are higher than average. This could be a hardship if you have health issues. The building is under construction. This did not bother us - there was no noise or smell, but it was a little disconcerting to walk up the stairs under scaffolding.
Great self contained studio in a perfect location..
No wifi - this is ultra important as a traveller.
Nothing was good at this place, I did not like anything The building was under construction, how can you offer this place to the travellers ?!! Is there any place to make a claim to collect our money back ?
The room was on the top floor with 51 huge steps and there was not any elevator. We climbed with luggages.
Being in town was a plus
We went through a construction site in the building which understandably will last until end 2014. One should expect not to climb 51 steps( each twice the height of a regular step) without elevator) It should have been ok if price was about 50 euro but not 120 euro without breakfast during April. The welcome was very poor the lady who was supposed to meet us never showed up until we arrived on our own.
Double room/apartment was great, but single apartment is a studio (cooking in the same room as the bed).
The owners met us and were very helpful in getting us settled and set up for our stay.
The stairs are a great workout. :-)
Everything was a mess when we arrived. The building was in mantainance. Construction materials, dust, sacaffoldings, cement, etc. We walked under them to arrive to our room. I tried to canceled but they threatened us that they would take the money from my credit card and they even would charge me an extra cost for reception (a lady who showed up to open it up). It was a nightmare. Booking is losing credibility with this incidents, offering things which are danger, nasty and unplaseant.
It's in the heart of Amalfi. A lot of good restaurants near the apartament. There is a bus station which can take you to Ravello easily. Apartament is quite big with balcony. There is a kitchen so you can make your own meals. There is even traditional coffee maker with good coffee available
There is no internet connection
Everything. Great location in the center of a town but quiet and cute. Great for a cheap romantic trip.
Noting we didn't like
The location was very cute - you felt very local climbing a lot of large stairs to reach a small apartment in the top of some very old little buildings - supermarket downstairs very convenient - the interior very pretty - yellow and blue tiled floor and cute little balcony to eat on- bed comfy
There isn't a lot of facilities in this apartment - the kitchenette one of the most basic I have seen in a self contained apartment - fine for breaky and making a light lunch but we still ate out most of the time as just not really suitable to make dinner on. No where to prepare food. Food quite cheap in the streets anyway but we were very over pizza and would have led to have eaten something we had prepared. Also shower and bath very unusual - roof so low- my husband had to bend over to go into the bathroom so he did not hit his head! But I guess it added to the adventure.
Everything was great: - great location: right in the center of the town - 5 min bus station/port, 1 min center, 5 min beach - warm welcome: Gianna called me to check the arrival time, and she came to us to the bus station :) - great room: clean, equipped with everything: towel, soap...
Far way through tunnel and lots of stairs to apartment
Great location, perfect for exploring the Amalfi Coast.
