Hotel AmbasciatoriVia Luigi Alamanni 3, Santa Maria Novella, 50123 Florence (Show map) Very good, Score from 577 reviews“I love my stay at this hotel. The staff is really friendly and helpful (especially to advise on restaurants ;) . The value for money is really good, not too expensive but still chic and really good quality hotel. I was really impressed by how 'clean' it was also.”
Samia,
Leeds

The location of the hotel is good. Unfortunately it has a really bad stuff. We booked non-smoking room, and when we went hotel we got confirmation about it. We entered room and we faced with terrible smoke smell. The time was 9 pm, so it has been minimum 10 hours since check-out. They didn't do cleaning at such a long time and the desk offered us spray the room (!) Ridiculus! We wanted to rest before going the centre, they made us wait 1,5 hour and after that they gave us a bedroom with no shower cabin and separate beds with one sheet. There is a guy, Marco at the desk and he was not helpful. He told us that he couldn't be responsible from all guests. So, I suggest everyone try another hotel instead of this.

Location The hotel superior double room was nothing like it showed on the Internet, the staff replied they only put up the best pictures. The carpet in the hallway was ripped up. Completely over priced for an outdated room.

1) Regarless of the front street, location is just perfect from the Duomo (Center) 2) The hotel was renovated with great designs and decoration 3) nice bath tube and bathroom 4) if you travel by train, it's just outside the train station 5) price is good compared to the high prices in Florence 1) When they say check in is at 2pm, they mean it! We and another three couples + the others who left thier bags and went out didn't receive their rooms until 2pm. During check in and out times the hotel staff become extremly busy and messy. 2) The hotel is located in a very busy and narrow street, in the same block of the hotel there is the main train station + busses + taxis + shuttles, and there is no entrance area to unload/load your stuff ( you'll have to drive up the side walk!) 3) The staff could do better if they try to make an effort! They are just doing their job. 4) breakfast isn't included in the room and they cost you 8 euro a person, McCafe is just cross the street and will cost you 2.5 euro :). 5) Bed is soo soft in an unhealthy way, until the next day our backs heart. 6) service in general is slow; 10 mintues to bring your car from the garage, more than 10 minutes to bring your bags from the room, you always need to wait a couple of minutes to talk to the recitationist. They can easily improve if they try to operate with an international mentality.

The hotel is in a great location, close to the main tourist attractions. The rooms looked as though they needed some decorating as did the bathrooms and the staff weren't overly helpfull/ friendly.

Good location for city tour. Annoyed arrogant receptionists, room service slams the door from early morning (7-8 a.m.). Rooms have literally no noise isolation, you can hear next room talking, flushing, etc... Cheap stinky laundry service (towels, bed sheets) Parking in same building as hotel has nothing to do with hotel itself and it obeys its own rules. So hotel parking is probably somewhere else.

Fantastic hotel with superb location. Although it is immediately opposite the railway station (which makes it so accessible) the area was open, clean, bright and totally safe. Perfect quiet at night time too. The hotel has recently been renovated - very trendy and modern, but still warm and personal. The staff were excellent - always welcoming & helpful. Our rooms were on the 4th floor with balconies. Beautiful views of the Duomo and the city skyline. The rooms were very pleasant and perfectly clean. Breakfasts were generous & great variety. The hotel was a 15 minute walk from the Duomo - a lovely walk in the balmy heat of Florence. I highly recommend this hotel. We had a fantastic 6 night stay at this hotel and had a wonderful experience. There are glass doors in the reception & dining room. On three occasions members of our party walked straight into them. Thankfully no injuries, but the doors need to be marked with something to make them more obvious.

It is very well located, right next to the main station and close to the main area of attractions. Going by Car is a problem because the road outside the hotel is narrow and there is no place for stopping your vehiche and the parking available close to the hotel is very costly 30 Euros per day.

The room was nice. This hotel reminds me of Mac Donalds like "Feed the mass" trying to improve the flair by adding some tasteful designs. Even if the rooms might appear stylish on the first sight, it's an absolute mass- orientated structure without personal ambiente and no invitation to relax. If you are looking for a romantic place, you should avoid booking this hotel. If you are looking for a ecnomic place right in front of the station and are resistant to noise, you can book this hotel. Florence is full of hotels closer to the city center, and you will do good to continue looking for another one if you are used to comfort and a personal flair. Being situated right in front of the station is a big big minus in a city that is packed with hotels. Hotel Ambasciatori however was highly-frequented. They might be really good in online- marketing.

Very central location. The hotel was spotless and the rooms were well appointed, with comfortable beds, duvets etc. Public areas were spacious and modern. The breakfast was excellent. The location means that it can be quite noisy, but still managed a good night's sleep!

It's proximity to the Train station was the best. Their service was good & hotel staff were friendly & helpful. The bell boy even helped us carry our heavy bags across to the train station when we left. That was really very kind of them. Next to the hotel is a small office where you can book for tours and next to it just at the corner is a very good Trattoria. We had the pleasure of dining there 3x in our 3 days stay in Florence. Breakfast had a variety of choices but not very healthy and taste is not good either. Room was very tiny with a funny smell.

We were more than pleasantly surprised with the quality and comfort of the room. The blanket was the best we'd had in a hotel so far. It was extremely clean and the room/bathroom were spacious. Also, the staff was polite and helpful. As travelers with a lot of gadgets, it was wonderful to have a strong wifi service available. Thanks for a great stay! Our sink was broken on our first night, but it was repaired the next day.

I did not like that reception staff gave us wrong information about our taxi rate to lago de garda for which we had to pay 240 euro extra !!! because they did not bother to check the rate carefully with taxi company.hotel reception area is very POOR!&lift is very small.i can say that the only advantage of the hotel is that it is very close to main train station. The hotel is beautiful inside, very modern with good taste, feels and looks clean and comfortable. Would definately stay there again. The staff were not the most friendly or at least not very helpful: I had to print a contract, sign it and scan it back, they helped me printing it, at no charge too, but for scanning it back they sent me across the street even though they had a scanner in the same printer. The location of the hotel is pretty convenient to walk around Florence, but the area of the hotel is not exactly pretty, right across from the train station. It does feel safe though.

Being close to the city train station+very good breakfast(except the juice which was not natural)+excellent free internet inside rooms+ nice staff were the positive points of this hotel. There is no lobby in the ground floor. The elavators were very small and in a very bad shape. The drain of bathtube was not working.

The location is perfect as it is close to the train station and bus station. The supply of hot water for shower/bath is very unstable and the room was cold when we were there for the first night. They said that it was because the hotel was full and the temperature outside was -10 deg. However, when we checked the following day with the reception, they said there was a problem with electricity and it would be fixed in the afternoon. It was true that the water was hot on the second night. But again, on the third night, the water was cold! It is totally unacceptable during winter time!
