Hotel Angelica    

Great staff, room, location.

The Hotel Angelica has the charm of an older European facility, with all of the most modern facilities to make one's stay as pleasant as possible. The bed was very comfortable, and the delicious breakfast (included) made the stay that much more enjoyable.

Convenient for railway station and central Florence. Very helpful owner.

The owners are friendly and courtesy. The room is very clean and spacious. The location is very close to the main train station, Firenze SNM.

No access to the hotel after midnight.

Stay away from this hotel! They ruined one day of my holiday and just said "we are sorry" in return. We forgot our passports in the hotel because they don't give it back if you don't ask for. We figured that the passports stayed by the reception desk when we were in ROME! I called the hotel and they said it happens SOMETIMES and they used to sent the passports via post. But it cannot be the case for us, since we leave Italy in 3 days. So I went all the way back by train to Florence which costed me 80 Euros and half a day. They keep your passports till you leave. They say they do it for security reasons. This hotel is really strange. They leave the hotel after midnight and they don't give you the keys of the main entrance. If you come to the hotel after 00.00, you stay outside (this is what they said to me) This hotel is also annoying in service. Every hour you have to take a new ticket from the reception to stay in the internet. Also their breakfast is bad. If you do not want to be treated like a refugee, STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!

The host is this wonderful lady who goes out of her way to make you feel welcome, the Hotel is on the 5th floor of a building only a stone's through from the Railway station..what a location, especially if you are on foot, like we were..Angelica (the host) gave us excellent directions and a map that was spot on...for once we did not get lost...we would definately stay here again, although the rooms are very basic they are clean and they serve a wonderful breakfast, it is close to the shops and plenty of restaurants, what else do you need...

No view..but this is not a problem though...

we love almost everything from the first moment, very near the Central railway station but still quiet, 10 minutes walking from the Duomo, many restaurants nearby.

The only negative remark relates to noise from corridor (1 morning) at 7 am ............... someone was very loud ..........

We just returned from Italy and one of our highlights was staying at Hotel Angelica in Florence. The owner was so kind and went out of her way to make sure we had a great vacation. We were in a predictament trying to book a tour for Monday because everything that we wanted to do was full. She was determined to find one that we were interested in and there was availability. She kept calling until she find the one in Assissi which turned out to be a wonderful day. The location was perfect close to everything. .

Limited WiFi access, a curfew was imposed as main door entrance had to be locked by midnight, noisy beds.

The lift is small and slow. Although it states there is free wifi, but we are only given free 2 hours of wifi daily.

Location just a few steps from the train station and not far to the city center. We had an unusual room in the attic, it was worse than standard rooms, but we had a private terrace on the top floor only at our disposal.

You always feel yourself under the control of an elderly lady in charge of hotel, you can't carry your key with you, you have to ring the door bell every time you come to the hotel. Breakfast is very modest, coffee is bad, limited choice of food. If you come at the end of breakfast, dirty dishes are washed by the lady under the water tap without any detergents and dried with kitchen towel which seems not very hygienic, it's much better to use the dish-washer. Only one chair in the room and no bed-side table on one side of the bed, so you have to put your stuff on the floor.
