Our first disappointment was that the parking area was in a nearby park where spaces were quite scarce. It was summer, and the locals were happily using the park and beach next to the hotel, but this left few spaces. We were able to drive into an area beside the hotel to unload, but parking was not allowed there.
Rooms are on the 2nd floor, up some long, narrow steps, and there is no lift.
Our host assured us that air would not be needed, but at the time of our visit it was. It was extremely hot, and the sun set shining into the room. Finally around 10pm it began to cool off, but as there was no cross breeze, even leaving the door open through the night did not help much.
We have had dinner at this hotel's restaurant several times in the past but did not recognise the name when we booked. We found that the property had changed hands a year or so ago, so we cannot comment on the state of the restaurant at this time.
There are many good reviews of this of this hotel, so we were surprised to find it did not live up to our expectations. Staff were helpful, our room was pleasant, and the view was super!
A member of staff was very helpful in the effort to get our bags upstairs. We were provided with a fan, but again it did little to make the room more comfortable.
If you are traveling light and arriving in spring or autumn, this hotel could be perfectly fine. But for us, it really did not work out.
