The décor. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is not in central Rome but in a suburb - and it is within walking distance of the Vatican and other attractions. It is also on the bus route - the bus stops just at the bottom of the stairs and runs every few minutes. Bus tickets can be purchased at store right by the bus stop or at any other café. It is best to buy the 6euro 1 day ticket as you can use all forms of transport on the day, it expires at midnight on the day that you validate it first. If you have a few days in Rome it is cheaper to use this instead of the Hop on Hop off bus as you can see all the sights using public transport.
No coffee/tea making facilities in the room. It would also be nice to have a vending machine or somewhere to be able to buy a cooldrink in the evening. The closest shop is down the hill - 96 steps down - to be exact.
Beautiful and unique B & B. Beautifually painted and decorated rooms; each unique and HUGE space. More importantly, was the personal attention of the staff; so helpful in every way possible.
There was nothing to dislike.
coffee at the breakfast was great
breakfast was a bit to poor, no vegetables
Staff friendly and helpful Lovely interior and exterior Breakfast lovely which you can have on terrace or room.
It was quiet as it was not in a tourist area. But this had its problems.
It had nice art work and décor to give it a good feel but it had no life in the place. No atmosphere. It was situated in suburbia which was ok but you had to walk what seemed like 200 stairs down to the main street where you needed to go to eat or go to the shops. Also being in the suburb's you ate when the locals wanted to eat. Nothing before 7.30pm except for stand up bars. Quite late when you have been walking the streets of Roam for 8 hours a day. We would not stay there again.
No hot water in 3 rooms that we had , and they explain it that they are only bed and breakfast, so we should expect not having hot water. asked me to pay twice and argued with me that i didn't pay bad service , you feel the owner is not there , too many temporary employees very noisy rooms on the ground floor
Our room, the garden setting and surrounding area.
The location was too far from the main attractions. We had to either walk, take a bus or taxi. Also, there was no food or access to restaurants/cafes nearby. A bit too isolated.
No got water in all our 3 rooms , hotel staff answer they are bed and breakfast , so they think no need for water Breakfast is nothing Service is bad , they asked me for payment twice and they run the accounting on notes I don't recommend staying there
just Needed full lenght mirrow
Loved the decor, the comfortable double room, the courteous and helpful staff, the location in a leafy luxurious area, the access to buses 913 and 70 get to Pantheon, Trevi and ST Peter's. Lovely breakfast on the terrace. Great cappuccinos at nearby bar at the bottom of the road. Very comfortable stay. Thanks so much
Thought the place was perfect.
spacious ground floor room by any standard, cleanliness, green garden, helpful staff
soundproof system is not very good, location is far from city centre, wifi system could be improved by enabling guests to log in anytime - we had to register by a certain time to use internet
Public transport, breakfast
Everything is perfect. Staff are very nice.
staff are really nice and the hotel has 24 hour calling reception services. The hotel solve problems very quickly，actually immediately.
nothing is wrong.
Great staff, very attentive. Large room, not only by Eruopean standards, but by US standards as well.
WIFI could be better.
Nice friendly staff
Poor soundproofing between rooms Floor flooded after heavy rain one evening
The hotel itself was beautiful, the room was huge and everything was immaculate. We had the choice of breakfast on the roof or in the room which was lovely. Staff were so helpful. Area of hotel nice and safe.
I am elderly so struggle with hotel position on hill, easily got taxi however. Hotel also bit out of the centre so we used taxis a lot. I would encourage you not to let this deter you from visiting this amazing hotel!!
Nice were the surroundings (old villas with a morbid charme), the small garden, the breakfast terrace. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially Simon, the "girl friday", but there is no one at the reception from 9 p.m. to 2 p.m.
The hotel ist severly understaffed, and some things seem somewhat in decay (the toilet paper holder broken off, the mattress way too soft and the cheap slatted frame worn out -- I had great problems to sleep). Instead of putting a bunch of lovely fresh roses to the library, where nobody sees them, it would be better perhaps to repair some simple things in the rooms. The breakfast was of a medium standard (supermarket quality), and the metro station "Cipro" is a 30 minutes walk away (buses go a bit irregularly).
Luxurious rooms, very high standard! Close to Vatican and easy to get into town (metro). Throughly enjoyed our stay!
Our buzzing friends at breakfast every morning... A wasps best in the tree next to the roof terrace.
Simon went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable! The whole staff was great!
A nice, quiet neighbourhood. Beautifully decorated, spacious rooms. Great friendly staff. Nice breakfast, which you can enjoy on the open terrace upstairs. A lot of greenery in the backyard area, with palm-trees, cacti, lemon and olive trees and other beautiful plants. 2 small supermarkets not far from the hotel, if you want to buy some water, etc. Only 30-35 minutes' drive to Fiumicino airport. We were satisfied with our stay at Antica Dimora Contessa Arrivabene and will definitely recommend it to others. Great value for money!
Wi-Fi is free, but rather slow. Be prepared to a 20-25 minutes' walk to the nearest Metro station. On your way back, keep in mind that it is a steep way up to the hotel. Be sure to get a full map of Rome, cause the hotel's location is not listet on the tourist maps of Rome. No restaurants or cafes near the hotel, so you either have to go down to the Vatican or the Rome city center if you'd like to eat out. Otherwise, it's a great place, and not much to complain about.
The best hotel we have ever stayed in. Thank you!
All the rooms on ground floor and above excellent, clean, roomy. Rooftop terrace and breakfast great, wi-fi included but slow.
absolutely avoid the basement room (s). traces of mold in the bathroom, strong humidity smells.
This place was an ideal oasis amongst the busyness of Rome. Close to everything, but set apart just outside of the hustle and bustle. The suites are incredible! Large, quiet, enclosed in a gated area with beautiful gardens (and we loved the lemon trees!). Breakfast was great on the peaceful outdoor rooftop patio. Staff were super friendly and provided excellent customer service. We would definitely stay here again!
No bad experiences at all!
Our stay at Antica Dimora Contessa Arrivabene was truly wonderful! It's a very elegant, romantic and clean hotel and the staff, from the receptionist to the guys who clean the rooms is really helpful, pleasant and friendly. We have no complaint from the 3 days we stayed there, on the contrary we were satisfied to the fullest. What is more, you can choose whatever you want from the breakfast menu and you can even have it in your own room! We did it every day and we really enjoyed it: it was super delicious and satisfies all tastes. It is worth mentioning that we had a problem with our credit card and thanks to the precious help of the ladies who are responsible for the reservations, everything was settled. The only "problem" may be that the hotel is not in the city-centre, so if you stay there, you have to take the 907 bus to get to the metro stop Cipro and then take the underground to get to the city-centre where you can visit most of the sights. However, Rome is such an impressive and special city that we believe this distance doesn't matter at all. Thank you very much, Silvia, Francesca, Veronika and the whole staff we met!!! If we come back to Roma, we will definitely stay there again! Arrivederla! Un bacio grande, Eva-Sakis.
