“ Cute and quiet little hostel in a fortified abbey, we were received warmly by Daniela who also prepares an excelent tuscan dinner with Roberto. Have the chicken frutti di Bosco! There is no need for air conditioning because the air is fresh at night even mid july is is around 20c . It is an easy 10-15 minute drive to Sienna. ”

Antico Borgo Di Torri is a stone country house offering a wellness area and free bike rental. It is located in Sovicille, in the Tuscan countryside, a 15-minute drive from Siena. Rooms are individually decorated and come with wooden furniture and cotto floors. Each one has a TV and fan, plus a private bathroom with a hairdryer. The property’s restaurant serves à la carte menus of Italian cuisine, along with Tuscan specialities and wines. Breakfast is continental style and can be served in your room for free. BBQ facilities are available in the garden. Guests of Antico Borgo have discounts at Antica Querciolaia spa centre in Rapolano Terme, a 30-minute drive away. It's an incredibly beautiful place with classical Toscana living profile, stonewalls, narrow streets, silence and lovely views. This former XIV century monastery is not one of the touristic kind. It's full of real italian province life, far from crowds of rushing travelers. I could not stop feeling, that I was dropped back in time for several centuries. We came there by car. Lady, the owner of the residence, was very kind and friendly. She waited our coming personally until quite late, provided us with a parking place. Not far from our rooms, there is a very nice restaurant with real toscanian menu and low prices. So, I really recommend this hotel for those who loves italian province with native views, silence and unforgettable details. I would not use "dislike". But unless you travel by car, it's quite difficult to get this place by common transport. From other side, it becomes a big plus, 'cause it is a guarantee for you to be delighted by silence and beauty.

But the one in Orgia, La Cateni is excellent.

Das Antico Borgo Di Torri hat eine tolle Webseite, das war es dann aber auch schon. Überall sind Tauben, das gegurre raubt einem den Nerv. Die Ausstattung ist sehr einfach. Im Bett befinden ein paar 10cm breite Holzbretter anstatt eines Lattenrostes. Die Krönung ist dann die 6cm dicke Matratze. Wenn man noch zur arbeitenden Bevölkerung zählt nutzt man einen Urlaub zur Erholung was hier definitiv nicht möglich ist. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis stimmt überhaupt nicht, über das Frühstück will ich erst gar nichts schreiben. Wir haben in 4 Sterne Hotels in Florenz und Urbino zu günstigeren Preisen genächtigt als im Antico Borgo Di Torri.

Accoglienza familiare, senza "troppe formalità" né pretese. Daniela e Roberto davvero disponibili e subito amici. Location ottima: un borgo molto suggestivo e, con la sua antica abbazia, carico di storia! Luogo piacevole ed "ognitempo": ok sia con nebbiolina autunnale sia con sole primaverile. Comodo per escursioni verso Siena e le valli limitrofe. Sono davvero soddisfatto e lo consiglio! ;-)

Le lieu, le village Personnel complètement absent, qui ne parle pas un mot d'anglais ou de français. On nous a donné une chambre alors que la personne d'avant n'était pas partie. J'ai trouvé son gel douche dans la douche, une bouteille d'eau etc. L hotel n'est pas à Sovicille même mais à 4 km....
