Like someone else here mentioned, the room has no air conditioning but only heating and a fan which did little. We stayed in early Spring so the weather outside ranged from cool overnight to warm in the day - the room was uncomfortably hot overnight. This could be alleviated by leaving the balcony window open, however one of the beds is right in front of it, and also traffic noise in the morning could be an issue.
Hotel is in a good location being less than 10 minutes walk from the Roma Termini station, or 20 to the Colloseum. Travel to the Vatican city by train from Roma Termini takes about 15 minutes. Lots of convenience stores close by. The hotel room itself was clean and mostly comfortable although the furnishings have not been updated for a while it was well equipped. The view from the balcony window of the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore was amazing!! The hotel staff were courteous, friendly and helpful.
Breakfast not great. Not a great choice of hot items. Tea cold and asked for hot tea came back mildly warm!
Location was great. Hotel clean and welcoming.
We had no bad experience other than not being prepared for having no American style shower. There was a bathtub with hand held sprayer but no shower curtain. It is not easy for a disabled person to get up and out of a bathtub but we managed.
If you're traveling to Rome to visit antiquities, this is a perfect location. This is a wheelchair accessible hotel IF your wheelchair is 25 inches wide or less. Staff and amenities were lovely.
NO JYM, AND BIT EXPENSIVE
I LIKED THE LOCATION FACING SANTA MARIA MAGGIORE, THE CHURCH INSIDE THE HOTEL, THE READING ROOM IN THE 3RD FLOOR, BREAFAST IS FAIR, STAFF ARE WARM, GARDEN IS NICE.
All the staff were very friendly. The hotel can arrange a car back to the airport for Euro 50, which for us was cheaper than taking the express train and as we were leaving at 7.30am on a Saturday, just as quick.
The hotel lacked consistency...our wifi worked every 5 minutes...refrigerator never worked...bathroom was in need of repair. Even though they say they have a bar from 2-4 there isn't one. They couldn't print our boarding tickets...they are reactive not proactive. So they put us in a room with no working refrigerator, a broken toilet seat, a broken shower head, a broken fan, and the majority of the time no wifi! We also had no art work in the room and no mirror beside the one in the bathroom. Not what you would expect for 155. euro per night:( when we asked them to fix it they tried...but the room should have been inspected before we were assigned it...reactive not proactive. We were their for 4 nights:(
The location and the outdoor terrace and the indoor library...we hung out in both places at the end of the day.
Very poor breakfast& poor blankets very old !
the building was good.
Spacious room for a family of 4.
The Breakfast was ok, however there is so much great food on every corner surrounding the hotel.
Large room with a nice bathtub and sofa. Room 401 easily slept four people. The location was very good to walk to the train station all the attractions. The WiFi was strong. Airport shuttle was 50 Euro for 4 people + luggage.
I enjoyed every aspect of my stay here. Super friendly staff, very professional and helpful. Beautiful, clean and comfortable hotel. Loved it!
The nearnes to the main railway station, the decor, the library, the chapel
Breakfast is ordinary, when in Rome I expect a good cup of coffee for breakfast.
Within close proximity to places of interest.
They had a nice breakfast which was included, but ran out of staple foods ( like eggs !) fairly early- so if you didn't go to breakfast early- you had an inadequate breakfast. Considering the price- they really should improve in this area.
The hotel was lovely with a beautiful courtyard. Across the street is a beautiful church called Santa Maria Maggiore. Within walking distance ( 10-15 minutes) of the Colloseum, The Roman Forum, Palatine Hill, Circus Maximus and the Capitoline Museum. Really enjoyed our stay!
The breakfast was good but tended to run out of coffee which wasn't the best anyway. A small issue in an otherwise very pleasant hotel.
The location was out of the busy centre so quiet, but within walking distance of Rome's main attractions. Also near the station as we arrived by train. The hotel has a peaceful courtyard garden which is an added bonus in a city. The room was clean and comfortable, if a little small. Nice bathroom. Good WiFi.
The airconditioner in our room was faulty. They didn't let us know at check-in. We returned at night to our room where we had all our luggage and some valuables to find the windows, which were low to the ground, wide open to allow a make shift cooler to operate. If this wasn't bad enough, the faulty airconditioner hadn't been turned off so at 9pm, just after we'd got our children to sleep, a MAJOR WATERFALL erupted from the ceiling into the middle of our room. My husband and I sprang out of bed and ran around trying to put towels underneath it. We called the front desk. They didn't come so I eventually went down to them. The cascading water had slowed down by the time we got back up so the staff member just said "yeah, that's because of the faulty airconditioner" and walked away. We had to chase the staff up for replacement towels, there was no offer to move us to a new room and there was no offer of any type of compensation. The road the hotel is on is very noisy and all that noise came into our room because of the open windows (which made us feel unsafe and I had to carry all our valuables around during our stay because the room wasn't secure)
Our triple room was big and comfortable. The location is very good. The inside garden is realy beautifull
Breakfast was somewhat disappointing compared with the otherwise high standard of the hotel
Very friendly and helpful staff at the reception, nice building and location
Shower head, antique not hand held Quality of breakfast Indifferent staff Necessary for cabs A/C not efficient Wall switch plate hanging off wall (maybe a fire hazard?)
Bed Wifi Elevators Outdoor terrace Near santa Maria maggiore Bidet Maid service was ok
Breakfasts were a little limited
Nice quality hotel with nice furnishings
Air conditioning was awful, had to ask for fan to cool room. Shower broken -reported to reception but nothing done
Air conditioning was very nosy. Bathroom wasn't very clean. We were they four nights and we only got shampoo and bath gel, small sizes, the first day. Breakfast was very poor and low quality for a four stars hotel. No drinks available in the room or the hotel. Almost no staff available.
The inner patio and the staff
Room was very small Bathroom left a lot to be desired Breakfast very ordinary
Great position Staff were very good and friendly
Breakfast includes both hot and cold options hotel of great architectural interest, situated in Rome town centre, opposite to the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, very close to Roma Terminal railway station and the air terminal. The rooms are furnished in style and elegance, and all have TV,air-conditioning and mini bar.
The breakfast choices, amount of food, and presentation were disappointing for a four star hotel. Better food quality and attention to detail would help tremendously. I travel to many places in Europe and North America, and this was a mocking of four star hotels. It does no justice to it's rating, for sure. It takes away from the enjoyment of what Rome has to offer.
Location and historical building.
Expensive rate and ordinary breakfast
