The owner, Daniele, unequivocally refunded our money for the unused portion of our stay. Very basically clean.
The pictures are not representative. At all. The hotel is modest in the very extreme, though not unclean in the most basic of ways. The non-smoking rules were ignored. There is ONE hairdryer for the entire hotel, rather than one per room, as advertised. anyone with a wife, girlfriend, or daughter with long hair understands the urgency of this. Worse yet, the gentleman on call at the front desk our first morning there asked that we wait for 3 hours for someone else to come in to try to find the hair dryer we had been promised the night before. There was a patent refusal by more than one employee there to be of any cooperation about several things that had been advertised that were not present. Only when we cancelled our stay was there a magical transformation enabling the previously non-existent manager to be available for a phone call. The breakfast is extremely modest, but not totally unacceptable. If this place simply advertised what was available and left out what was not, I would actually recommend it to people with a ¡car only! who are trying to save some money. given that nothing in Rome is really worth the money charged, this place could add up to be a decent bargain, and it acceptable accommodation. the grounds of the hotel seems safe and off, the parking lot is gated at night and the front door locked; this being said, the surroundings within a very short drive are utterly disgusting. Directly around the hotel, and on its small grounds, things appear not bad.
They like pets
They charge my card on the day of booking without informing me of the operation.
helpfull & friendly Staff kind of close to airport
poor wifi small shower breken seat on a toilet thin walls location noisy people in the hotel
Cheap, wifi worked
Very, very, very dirty. Not cleaned every day, not vacuumed when we got there and not in the whole time we where there. One day the tip for cleaning was gone but it was nothing done in the room. Had to ask for clean towels. To far outside Rome, 2 buses to get to the city and they were far apart in time schedule.
We liked that we where able to book a room last minute. Clean towels. Cheap price for proximity to Rome.
ThE hotel was cheap but I can't get over how nasty the shower was. Dirty, grimmy and scummy. Moldy shower curtain. We had no hot water in our room. Bedding was cheap, flimsy and dirty looking.
There is a discounted supermarket near the hotel.
Too too too far away from Roma Centre. I have to wait about 30 mins for a bus and then wait another 20 mins for transferring another bus to the city. At night, the frequency of buses is too low so one night I have to wait more than 40 mins. Totally almost 80-90mins to get to Roma centre. The road before the hotel is very dark at night, cars run so fast. I felt too dangerous to walk on the road.
Breakfast = no breakfast, don't pay additional money for breakfast. There is nothing to eat and no coffee. They want you to pay for it and have bad home machinery.
As it was a far from the city center, so it was quite peaceful. I was able to sleep v peacefully. The internet was good.
was difficult to reach them over the phone. Besides my room was given to someone else; they arranged for my first night stay in another nearby hotel and since they picked me up, so I was okay with it. But I am sure many others would not like this kind of surprise.
The hotel was very dirty, and it is not in Rome. All the service is terrible. it takes two hours of public transportation to reach the main streets of Rome. Bus e subs are horribles in Rome. In our first day we had to rent a car, to make things a little bit easier. Do not recomend at all!
Everything was fine (We didn't expect to much for 150e for 4 nights) until last day when we ordered a transfer to airport from hotel (50e) on 4.15 am . we got up on time but no one came to pick up as ,no one answered any phone, nobody was in the hotel, they left us alone with no transfer. we decided to go on street and try catch something, after 30minutes walk we have lucky to catch taxi who take us to airport for 40e, so chepper then hotel transfer (they told as when we booking transfer that taxi will take 70e so 50 is good price ).NEVER AGAIN antico casale no professinal, layers, pictures on they website are not true everything is old ,dirty ,very thiny, walls and doors, wifi working very poor, breakfast is a joke (milk, cornflakes, jam, sweet cakes and coffee from cheep coffee express in plastic cups ) and the most important location is not in Rome but 1h time from city center by 2 buses .
Nothing as wasn't happy with services, it ruined my daughters trip to Rome as it was first time she ever travelled for the first time.
Rude unhelpful uncaring staff. Bedbugs/fleas and the bug in the wardrobe. The shower, which run like a tap in the ceiling, which I never used. Cold water. No hairdryer. No staff at reception.
First of all, I liked the fact that the lady at the reception spoke English, which is not all that common in Rome(seeing as how most of the hotel's staff didn't). The room was clean and the towels were changed every day.
I wouldn't count two single mattresses on a queen sized frame a 'double bed'. Also, our reservation had breakfast included, and their definition of breakfast was milk and cereal and butter. Apart from that, there was jam and bread and a few cookies, but since it was self-service, those ran out quickly and were not replenished in a timely manner.
We came to the hotel about 1 a.m. and even though we called earlier to ask if that's ok (answer was - no problem) there was no one in the reception. We came after 17 hours in trains, airplane, buses etc. and we only dreamed about some bed. We tried to call the owner but there was no response. We spended that night in the reception, on chairs and tables because there was no one who could give us our room - booked and payed (!). At 5 a.m some nice couple (thank you so much if you read this!) gave us their room cause they were leaving "antico casale". So last few hours of that night we could have spent in the bed. Someone elses bed! Next day we tried to get refound for this night and we've heard "no way! your room was ready, key was ready so what's the problem? no refound". Location of the hotel is horrible. You have to take two buses to get there and the journey is about 1,5h, and no one could tell us what is their schedule. People working in that place, beside the owner, can't say a word in english and that's really problematic. After one week we've had to come back for one night to the "antico casale" and the owner told us that there is a reservation but there are no free rooms. And that we have to go to the another of his hotels. 8km further. I wolud not recommend this hotel to anyone. Being there was so frustrating, so problematic that I don't even have the words to describe that experience. Night at this horrible reception because there was no one there working. Location was really bad. Staff was unfriendly. Rooms were nothing like those pictures above, old, a little bit dirty. Bathroom was awful. So if you're looking for some nice place to spent a night before taking airplane or something - don't go there. Unless you like pay for bed and sleep on chair. I travel a lot and I've never came across the situations like in the "Antico Casale".
The welcome was nice and the woman at reception very helpful Hotel car to go to roma (not very expensive and very recommended rather than the bus) The car would have been easier!!
Breakfast limitée to corn flakes and water-made juice Roma difficult to reach by public transportation (we had more than 1h30 one night to come back to the hotel from the center of Roma) Wifi not working during our stay
Staffs are good, still recommended for the staffs to understand English. Telling a Foreign Visitor that Italiano Only is not a solution. Morning Airport Drop was really good, though a bit costly but no choice because of the location.
So Far from the City, Lots of change during travel and all the buses running without any time line. Only One bus goes there and also every Hour one, We reached on Sunday and need 3 hours of waiting all total. If you are ready to pay Taxi or Take Hotel communication it is good.
Cozy room Good internet
Walls are thin & guests are noisy The bus only passes every 40 minutes
Shuttlebus service to metrobus service was reliable and convenient. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great price.
Powerpoints were dangerous.
location , flees
dirty old ruined very dirty bathroom noisy ugly
Breakfast is terrible !
near bus stop
Never anyone at reception, only at check in to take money. The location is an hour and half away from the centre of Rome. Could not wait to leave
a peacefull place, easy to find, 15 minutes away from the Fiumicino Airport by car, a big enough parking spot...
staff was not quick enough when serving breakfast...
Nobody can´t speak english. Only "receptionist" may be he was a receptionist. When we arrived there were 3 person(cleaning lady, the chef, and possibly owner) and nobody wanted to speak with me and they ignored me. When i told the "owner", we want to go to the city, he gave me mobile and told me: English... The man who was in the phone told me, that he will come 15minutes. He arrived 30minutes. He phoned with some his friend and he smiled to phone and he didn´t wanted to booked me. He was very unfriendly and unprofessional. So we waited for accommodation 2 hours!!!!!!! We wanted wifi code to connection and he didnt know what is code. He could not say how to get to city by the bus, because he told me: "I don´t take the bus...Here you are the list, and read." I am not dog who sad him sit and he sit. Why is he there? Fortunately there was writen wifi code, but the bus to city center was wrong. And the bus ticket they had not. We get the room with small bathroom and bedroom with a rickety bed. Any way there was clean, but in the bathroom was mold and the room had thin wall, so we could heard everything, what neighbors did. From our windows we saw mess.
Cosy room, comfortable bed, and the fact that we got a private bathroom. Also, that they cleaned the room every day. Free map of the centre of the town.
The hotel and the rooms look so different from the pictures. Situated outside Rome, actually. Natural reserve? Dirty area with prostututes, no green places, no pavement along the road. Bus going just once in a hour, no timetable, the receptionist mocked at me when I asked about the times of the bus. ATAC website is a disaster. It took me two hours to work out the buses. Going back to the airport: either 45€ by taxi, or 2,5 hours by public transport. There were some tourist who came late, about midnight. They could not check in so they left disappointed. Breakfast - nothing fresh. Next time I will look for something nicer near the Vatican.
