“It was a great hotel with a great staff and very clean rooms. Everything about this hotel was first class. No complaints about anything. Having been lots of times to Venice, this was by far the best for location, cleanliness and standard of friendliness”

Antico Panada dates back to 1889. It is in 2 historic buildings, 30 yards from Saint Mark's Square. The air-conditioned rooms feature refined furniture, free Wi-Fi, and Murano lamps. The Panada overlooks Calle degli Specchieri, a street that leads directly to Basilica of San Marco without crossing any bridges. The nearest water-bus stop is Calle Vallaresso. The stylish interiors are decorated with white and red marble. A continental buffet is served daily in the breakfast room, in the main building. The hotel's Bar Ai Speci is an old Venetian inn. It is open until midnight and serves the traditional Spritz aperitif, a good cup of espresso, and international cocktails. The location - 2 minute walk from St Mark's square - was perfect. It was right in the heart of Venice with restaurants and shops at every turning. All of the local water buses and taxis were accessible within a couple of minutes - Perfect. Buffet breakfast included in the price made it even better value. Very efficient staff who, for example, printed out our boarding passes for us, looked after our luggage on the last day etc . NB: It was an easy journey to/from the airport too. We took the Alilaguna 70 minute trip which landed us at St Marc's square. The hotel has double glazing to dull the sound of the bells but as you'd expect in a city centre it was a little noisy at night. Nothing that a pair of ear plugs couldn't handle though!

It was in a good spot.I had a genuine single room with single bed which was a bit worse for wear but reasonably comfortable. For the price and location it was fine and staff were a bit brusque and busy but not friendly enough. It is only 50 metres form St.Marks square. It was a warm spell and they dont put the hotel air -con on until the summer. The windows have no fly screens so I got bitten by mosqitoes. The single bed probably was due for a new mattress.

Location, location, location. It has a fantastic location one block from sent Marcos Square. Great entertainment with in1 to 2 blocks.wonderful shops and restaurants very close. We'd go back to this hotel. The Internet was not available in our room about half the time we were there. Our room was nice but we have a flight of stairs. We had to go up and down, which is a problem for me but not insurmountable. For someone who is really handicapped. It would be an impossible situation. They may have had other rooms that did not require stairs.

Great Location at a Great Price. A very friendly, professional and helpful staff made our stay in Venice especially enjoyable. I would recommend the Antico Panada to anyone traveling to Venice. If we are lucky enough to return, we will certainly make our reservations there. I cannot think of a single negative. It was a delightful experience.

Location of the Hotel was superb for acess to main tourism area in Venice and very easy to find. Our return flight was very late - conceigere allowed us to leave our luggage and return for it later - also at this time to use the bathroom facilities to freshen up. The quality of the breakfast food was not good. Room and facilities were ok - to be classed as a "superior" suite stretches the expectations a little beyond the actual reality...

The location is perfect- right off San Marco Piazza, a short walk to the highlights of Venice, especially convenient at night when the throngs leave and the city reveals itself. Comfortable room, good sleep, and excellent value. Our room, on top floor, had views of tiled rooftops below, and was quiet except for the cachophany of churchbells. I would definately recommend Antico Panada as a basic, good value lodging in an extraordinarily pricy area.

We were offered an opportunity to upgrade to the Best Windows annex, away from the hotel, but more directly set on St Mark's Square. The amenities here were very good, and nearly made the five star grade, except that our room was not completely finished, and had not been carefully designed for maximum use of space. However, we enjoyed the spa bath, and the champagne that came with the upgrade, The staff was very helpful, especially the porter and our bartender in the bar lounge. Strange experience in the bar lounge, where the manager requested the bar manager to change the television channel to a soccer channel, despite the fact that we were the only ones in the lounge, and had requested to see the bbc news channel, which is not available in the hotel rooms. Also strange that he felt we should be watching soccer, since there were no significant games on at the time. We think this manager should rethink his strategy, since his lounge is not likely to attract sports fans - it is in a quiet setting, and has a design and decor that would more likely be enjoyed by mature, sophisticated travelers.

We liked the people. Staff was friendly, especially the Filipinos working there. Getting to the room was a challenge, but we found it everytime. And, we always found our way back to the lobby. Just beware, you could have a room 500 meters from the lobby and walk 1000 meters up and down steps, on two elevators. Any way, if you are up for it the place is just fine. You will never find a better location in Venice.

The only good thing is hotel's location It's a combination of more than two connected buildings and is a maze. It was difficult to get to the room without help. The room was very dimly lit

Great location ofcourse!! Friendly staff and helpful, breakfast was pretty ok. Bathroom was clean! Let's see..... 1:DON'T LET THE BED BUGS BITE- oh yes horrible stuff! 2:Pillows felt like stacks of paper! 3:the only place you will see Mosquitos in Italy (in the room) 4:walls are paper thin ofcourse (I couldn't sleep at all) 5:I stayed there during the weekend I thought it was extremely over priced for a 3 star ! 6:the extra bed was a joke! 7:oh and the WIFI sign is just for decoration.

Good location in the heart of Venice, two minutes walk from the St Marco. Bells' ring , and fresh bakery flavour smells in the morning... Cleanness in the room. Simple and basic level of service. Poor and only cold sandwiches breakfast, tiny rooms, aged furniture, a bit too noisy and high voices from the street in early morning hours

Location was good Hotel was ve complicated. You can not find your room by yourself when you get into the hotel. You have to walk 15 min, ascend countless stairs, open some of the doors, feeling like you are getting into an other hotel. And you should use an other hotel's exit when you want to get out...

Beautiful decor, excellent staff, nice breakfast. They don't turn on the air conditioning until May! We could not leave the windows open due to mosquitoes, so we had to suffer with a hot stuffy room. (Their heating and cooling system can only be on either "heating" or "air conditioning" but not both . . . so this is a problem for the in-between seasons.

Great location. Clean room and good value for the price we paid. The staff weren't the most helpful- quite rude at times. There was also no internet in the room (and other guests were also complaining about the same) so everyone was huddled in the main lobby.

Location is excellent. The only thing that we didn't like was the heather in the bathroom which was way toooooo hot and you cannot change it. There is however airconditionning in the rest of the room. Heather in the bathroom, please refer to previous comment.

The hotel staff was so accomodating. We came in early and they found us a clean room so we could relax and change after a very long train ride. We were so grateful.

“We booked this hotel as deal of the day...competitive price when it comes to Venice...perfect location, right near San Marco, beautiful interior, amazing breakfast in a room overlooking a canal, rooms are beautifully decorated with comfortable beds, one of the highlights was the roof top area where we enjoyed a drink after a busy sightseeing day...I Think for the price we paid we actually received much more than we expected...I Highly reccommend” Mateusz, London |
