Opened in 1308, the Albergo Cavalletto & Doge Orseolo is one of the oldest hotels in Venice. It is set right behind St. Mark's Square, and features elegant rooms and a private pier.
Score from 1737 reviews Very good
Hotel Alcyone is an 18th-century building with furnished terrace overlooking Venetian rooftops and St. Mark’s Bell Tower.

A restored monastery, Hotel Abbazia is in the quiet Cannaregio district of Venice, 300 ft from Santa Lucia Train Station. The hotel features a large courtyard garden with bar.
Score from 1135 reviews Very good
Casa Nicolò Priuli is a 5-minute walk from St. Mark’s Square. Set in a 19th-century noble residence, it offers rooms with antique furniture and original paintings. Many have canal views.
Score from 347 reviews Very good
The WiFi does not have a single sign on, meaning every time you return to the hotel you have to log back in. The staff are not particularly customer focused - I waited at the desk on a number of occasions for staff to finish phone calls or conversations before asking what I wanted. There were builders in the room next to me which were very loud and no solution was offered for this.
The location of this hotel is fantastic. It is right next to St Marks Square and other tourist hotspots - and there are a number of fantastic places to eat in the surrounding streets. The WiFi, once connected, is fast.
Being such a popular area and with the old style streets noise can be at a premium due to late bars and festive people out and about I.e. 3am drunks. But not the end of the world.
atmosphere, shopping proximity to monuments was great! Perfect location to all the key attractions.
i have just positive feedback!
kind and friendly staff, good wifi signal in the rooms. Plus we had nice view to the city. Staff was really friendly! Will book for the second time, if I come back again!
I was trying to rest in the afternoon before my flight,it was around 13:30 pm, but I couldn't cause they were working in the upper floor and knocking all the time until 16 pm. other bad thing is that you can hear all the conversations from the street and clearly even if your window is closed. and the breakfast is cheap.
the location is perfect , very close to San Marco. the stuff is friendly.
Feel the bed not clean enough.
Service quite good.
No Wi-Fi on rooms.
Really nice staff. Good Breakfast. Amazing location.
The brakfast is very poor if I comment as a Turkish person. 1 type of cheese. No tomato no even olives.
This was my 2nd stay in Hotel Panada. Location is very good. Staff is helpful. Very clean.
room was extremely dirty; you could see all the dust in the air when the light shines through the window...
loved the location; very easy to get to main water taxi in St. Marks. tons of restaurants and shopping at your door step. room had a nice view.
Beware. When we checked in they walked us to a completely different building 5 mins away which was so different to the pictures. The room was larger but didn't have any charm. We asked to be put in a room in the hotel building. The room was cute as we had one on the upper lever and didn't just look into the building next door. Our bathroom wasn't that clean and there is no wifi in rooms. Breakfast is very ordinary. I think there is better in Venice
We were brought to an annex at first which was most unsuitable. We were charged 15 euro as soon as we arrived and then on leaving we had to pay another 6 euro tax.Internet connection was very poor and only available in lobby.
breakfast was very good.
Staff was totally ambivalent toward guests... Obviously jaded from seeing hoards of tourists in and out of their facility. Our room was ridiculously hot... Like a sauna and there was no way to fix it, even after talking to front desk. Too loud outside to leave window open to cool down as well as lots of mosquitos coming in. Doing construction in all the rooms around us... Although they were respectful of us and tried to clean up and keep noise down. We didn't spend too much time in hotel, but if we were there to sleep in and enjoy peace and quiet we wouldn't have it. Great for location, but if you want a nicer place stay somewhere else.
The location made this place very worthwhile, it was very easy to find and is close to everything you want to do in Venice. Typical hotel, nothing outstanding, clean though, typical breakfast, decent enough.
The room was not in the main building and had no working WiFi. The tripple room had only a bed sofa as third bed.
The location is excellent direct behind San Marco.
Very romantic rooms, Close to Plaza St Marco Staf very frendly
TV didn't work, electricity malfunction in evening, not back on until the morning for our room
I was very happy with the staff, location and the general experience. I strongly recommend this place. Excellent!
i did not like how there was not any wifi in my room only downstairs, which made everything inconvenient. I also did not like that there were no washclothes provided or the electricity would cut off every time i took my key card out of this slot when i left the room. There was also only one available outlet in the room.
I enjoyed the location and bed and breakfast
TV had no signal but since Italian hotels do not have any English news channels this was not too much of an issue. Internet is in the hotel lobby only and again this was OK as the lobby was a comfortable place with a copy of the Gardian.
We found staff to be perfectly helpful. Our stay was very enjoyable.
The heating was not controllable, and too hot. Very non-accessible place.
Breakfast was included even if it was not explicitly said so.
Didn't actually stay in main part of hotel..was put in extra part round corner with LOTS of stairs. Seriously need more plug sockets in room!
Good location although quite noisey at night....probably to be expected though!
Very little choice for a muslim
Very quiet and nice place
Misleading website - They put pics of the best rooms on the website and clearly the rooms are pot luck and some are not as good as others put seem to be charged the same. There was some restoration work going on right next to our work (we believe it was within the same hotel). It woke us up some mornings! Breakfast - very limited choice and we stayed a week so got a bit sick of the same thing. Bar - Unstaffed and a long wait if you want anything as reception have to get someone to serve you. Mini Bar - empty unless requested. Staff - On the whole the receptionists were ignorant apart from one man. Other staff appeared ok e.g. maids, breakfast staff. WIFI - intermittent, we got it in one corner of our room. My other half wasnt pleased with the room at first but got used to it and was happy by the end of the week. I put this down to his expectations being high due to the website being misleading.
Location was easy to find (which can be problematic in Venice) and very close to St. Mark's Square where most of the main sights to see are! The maids were great with cleaning the rooms and polite. The room was warm and comfortable but a little dingy in the way of natural lighting (common in Venice due to it being a built up area and windows open on to alleyways) but artificial lighting was ok. There was one staff member who worked the evenings on reception and he was pleasant enough. The hotel was very clean and warm and comfortable. Another good thing was there was a personal safe in the room
The glamorous pictures really DON'T show the reality. Some very interesting bug bites during the night, making unforgettable our stay. The foul smell of mold in the house, strongest at the breakfast table. Lousy breakfast.
The one thing You'll appreciate is the hotel's central location. I don't think that makes up for the rest. Better walk some 100 meters more.
Although we were told a superior room with great out look, it looked out on to rooftops. We had to walk out of hotel round the street to another entrance. No power point in room for charging phone or tablet.
Very close to tourist attractions
