Well, as one is dreaming of a lovely place to stay waiting for them...you get to a haphazardness entrance way that leaves one millimetre on either side of your vehicle. There are plenty of marks indicating the difficult of the both sharply angled and narrow entrance and the damage it has caused to other cars. That is the beginning. Then, you park, relieved you made it through. You haul your luggage over gravel to the door of the inn. When you arrive, all seems well as you are greeted by a man in a cozy and luxurious office. He is in a hurry because he closes hotel at 7pm or 8pm (so if you need anything or have a question, that is just too bad). He welcomes you and assigns your room....in the 'dependence' or guest house....you think you scored big..maybe a private room...well, think again. You go outside of the door, to the right, he explains that one has to use a key to reopen the gate your car passed through (you are lugging your luggage the whole way), then he leads you outside of that property wall, to a neighbouring gate near two large garbage bins (industrial sided ones). There, he explains how to use key number two. After you enter, he explains that you cannot park your car here. You go to door number 3, where he explains how to open that one. That one opens to a hallway which resembles more a hostel than the photos you saw on the site. Then you reach your room door...Key number 4 comes out and you are in. It is more modern, more spartan, and more ikea than you ever imagined. Nothing wrong with that, you were just expecting tuscan villa...not dorm room. He referred us to a restaurant that was 'just around the corner', but two kilometers (on foot-in the rain) later you realise that his distances may be a bit off. Then, you return, using three of the four keys he gave you, and go to bed, all ok there.
I liked the location. I liked the price. It was available. I liked the photos, I liked the idea of staying in an old villa in Florence's center. We were going to work at the hospital which on the map looks very close by. I liked the breakfast room. The breakfast was OK too. I liked the water pressure as well.
No sound isolation. Far from the city center (but you can get there by bus in 10 minutes).
Wonderful interior and garden. Silent street. Very friendly owners. Wi-fi is good (but with some nuances). Parking is at place. Nice restaurant in 5 minutes walk. Many spritz bars down the street.
its a bit outside of center florence wich is grate couse you get away from the messy town if you like that kind of thing, Super easy buss conection to the center lf town
A lovely place, nice gardens, comfy room and failities, nice staff, bus is 3 min walking and leave you in the historical part, was very easy, free parking, was a nice place to stay.
friendly staff, unique location
Amazing place, with great atmosphere, make by the owners.
a little bit far away from the city of Florence, especially not enough Restaurants in the area of the Villa Rosa , to my knowledge only one.
A very quiet place, beautiful gardens,
Very large comfortable, beautiful room with view over garden and hills. Easy access to city via bus. Beautiful old villa and peaceful location.
Been eaten alive by Mosquitos ! But then we did experience that throughout Italy
Lovely rooms Great breakfast Wonderful service
Le wifi qui ne marchait pas.
Endroit charmant, calme et très propre
The grounds would be lovely if maintained to a as high a standard as the villa
A very nice ambience
We liked the building with the paintings on the walls, we liked the breakfast listening classical music, we liked the garden with the ancient fountain, but nothing compares with the cultivated and civilized nature and behavior of the owners. If Florence is considered the birthplace of the Renaissance then a tired traveler can be reborn in the Villa Ape Rosa.
Hot breakfast consumed by others. Not enough for late comers.
The owner Elena and her husband were gracious, friendly, helpful hosts. Elena greeted us and made coffee for us whilst we waited for our room. We were an early arrival. Room 6 was large, immaculate, enhanced by antique furniture and beautifully tiled floors and looked to the outside trees. Kingsize bed was comfortable, single bed was comfortable, bathroom immaculate, sizeable. Two flights of stairs to climb ( no lift ), but stairs are wide, of granite, I think, with woven old iron railings for support. Each floor has a relaxing, lounge room with its personal library with views over the interesting garden. There is a small refrigerator on floor one relaxing area. Each floor has tea/ coffee supplies. Guests have to ask for milk for tea / coffee. Wifi free, good connection. Bus # 4 stop to the city of Florence is just around the corner of the hotel.
It is a real Tuscany villa. We felt as a member of the family who own this. It was fantastic.
Charmig house and nice jacuzzi in the garden. Very nice and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Peaceful location.
Internet was hard at first Once in it worked fine the rest of stay
Very nice place to stay and relax
A true taste of what its like to live in todays and past Florence. Very hospitable, friendly and helpful. We Enjoyed our stay and would recommend it further. Loved the simple egg maker :) and breakfast.
Small rooms Bad maintenance, paint peeling, mold on shower walls
A quiet place Free parking Public transport to the center of Florence nice staff
Rooms full of Mosquitos, no enough towels, no enough toilet paper and soaps... To be honest is just a general bad service and not attentive for the rooms.
The charming villas provides a sanctuary away from the busy centre. The garden was very relaxing! Our room was supurb complete with a view! What more could you ask for? The public transport (bus) straight into the centre just a few metres from the gate. A perfect location when visiting Florence! Just perfectly dropped out of your dreams into reality.
Best of the best. Great villa with lage garden. You feel like at home. Breakfast was served such a nice atmosphere with classic music and nice decoration. Close to bus stop where it takes 10 to 15 mnts to florence. Hospitality by owners was excellent.. İf you want to live tuscany atmospere just go..it is best of the best deal.
This was a good hotel with parking (something important in Firenze). Its not close to downtown, but there is a bus station right in front. The style of the decoration is old fashion but makes you really feel in Tuscany. =)) I appreciated a lot.
Wifi is not always working, but then the owners can start it again for you. So just ask.
Beautiful old villa with big garden and place for the car. Friendly and helpful staf. Bus nearby. Quite place in residential area.
It's an oasis in a big city that is calm and quiet with a wonderful garden and green space. And parking! Only a short bus ride from Florence center. It is an old building with lots of charm and historical spirits.
Not enough personnel, very poor isolation- a lot of noise and cold air coming inside, difficult access to rooms (too many keys), pour wifi connection. The price is far exagerrated
