Very nice appartment with great view.

This apartment in a lovely quiet location was very comfortable. The mamagmemt upgraded our place so we had two separate rooms to sleep which was a great and unexpected kindness. Since we are two single snorers traveling together for three weeks, we chose to stay even longer. The kitchen facilities are vey basic but we were able to shop in the fantastic local market and cook deliciously fresh fish and vegetables. Again a welcome break from dining out. The decor of the hotel and rooms was lovely. Beds comfortable and nicely firm, down comforters especially nice!

Small complain. No yogurt for breakfast after the second morning. Some of the fixtures and doors need repair, but in the case of the doors it is clearly difficult to keep them level in an ancient building.

The two bedroom apartment gave us plenty of room and there was a nice enclosed veranda. It was in an interesting setting on an ancient pedestrian street in an old but nicely remodelled and cared for building.

You had to park ablout a half mile away and lug your luggage through the streets to get there. The WiFi only worked near the lobby. The desk clerk did not seem to make much of an effort to be friendly or helpful.

The building is incredibly beautiful... Ancient historical stone building. The stairs are large enough to carry your luggages. Breakfast is very good, large choice, also cheese and ham, open buffet, good cappuccino, even granita but it has a chemical taste. My appartement was very comfortable, large, with private balcony, sea view between the roofs (no. 11). Living room, kitchenette, TV, everything great. I wish I could have stayed more...! And Ortigia is absolutely magic! There is free navette connection between Ortigia and train station! And the whole area is safe, also at night. People are nice, smiling and helpful. You can swim in city center, also from Forte Vigliena but near the Aquarium seemed more comfortable to me.

Would be better to have internet in entire building... not only public areas. And when you arrive, on the entrance is not written Appartamenti Forte Vigliena but Residence Hotel Alla Giudecca. Would be better to know... Though is has nothing to do with the hotel, there was construction noise nearby... no sleep in the morning.

Great hotel - nice and cosy, very big apartments.

A bit difficult to find. And for ones, who have heavy suitcases - no elevators, so you have to carry luggage to 2nd floor.

Breakfast was not that good. The coffee was terrible, the worst we had in Sicily.

A great place to explore Syracuse

The tranqulity and the atmospher of the place

I would recomend this place to others as long as they like a quiet atmospher. on the other hand this place is situated a few meters away from the heart of Ortiga. If yoy are traveling with a car be prepared to walk about 800 meters to the nearest public parking.

The staff was very helpful and very kindly. Thanks for them for all that help, advice and friendly service. The rooms were beautiful hotel Alla Giudecca, the atmosphere and interiors were very good. It was easy and nice with the family, the rooms were big enough and clean.Good quality feeling but also comfortable. We enjoyed staying there. We were in apartment hotel Alla Giudecca, not in Forte Vigliena which is just the next building on the same street. Bus number 20 to the center is free and the stop is quite near this hotel. Special praise for the staff and the beautiful rooms.

I can´´t find anything what we didn´t like, all was ok and nice.

La batisse est belle; du moins la reception de l hotel: deco soignee, de beaux objets, belles antiquites: le hall est chic;

Lors de notre arrivee, nous avons du attendre 20 mn , le temps que le receptionniste arrive; ( il n etait que 16 h!); l acceuil n est pas des plus aimable!!!! L appartement que nous avons eu etait bien loin de la description du site: pas de belle terasse avec vue sur mer, mais 2 petites fenetres hautes; montez sur une chaise pour voir dehors!!! Douche rouillee , robinetterie hors d age! Bref, on est loin de l effet "lounge" suggerepar les photos dusite! Ajouter a cela la situation juste en face d un immeuble en renovation;a 7 h du matin,scie circulaire, marteau, cris de ouvriers, bref,une adresse à eviter!
