Arco Antico is very clean. Bedding and towls are changed - without requesting it - twice a week. Taking into account the rates te guests pay; the breakfast is more than sufficient. Snacks and coffee and tea are available 24/7. Guests can place their own food items which need refrigiration in the small fridge in the dining area. It is close to the station and and a short and pleasant walk to the Piazza della Signoria (Ufizzi), Duomo, PalazzoPitti and all the normal sights tourists wish to see. The owner, Matteo, is friendly, professional and helpfull. I left most of my lugguage at Arco Antico when I went to Venice and upon my return it was safely stored. Single females should feel safe here.
The street is not as clean as one would like. Litter, like boxes and wrappers etc. were dumped in the street and left for a couple of days. It seems as if the majority of the people living in the street are visitors, as there are quite a number of B&B's, hotels and rooms to let in this area - this could have been a reason for the litter. The owners of the little shop on the ground floor played fairly loud music which floated up to my room. I stayed in two different rooms - one with mosquito shutters and one without. In the one without the shutters, the mosquitoes were a bit of a problem.
Helpful staff, good breakfast
No one was there when I arrived. Luckily another hotel guest who had been staying there arrived back just after I got there and she let me in and called the owner for me and so I was able to get into the room. I don't know what I would have done if she had not been there. A note was left with a mobile number to call, but I had no mobile phone.
We absolutely loved this charming light-filled, clean and comfortable B'n'B. The room we had faced the street but double glazing and shutters shut out all the noise so completely that we unintentionally "slept in" on our first day. Breakfast is served from 8.30 but you can help yourself to pre-packaged toasts, jams, cheeses and the coffee machine earlier if required. The hotel is within easy walking distance (5 minutes maximum) of the railway station. A 10 - 15 minute walk brings you to Duomo and the centre of Florence's historic area. Located on the third floor, the hotel has no obvious street presence and you should advise an approximate time of arrival to ensure that there will be someone at Reception to let you in. We would happily stay there again!
This building has one of the smallest elevators I've ever been in. It has novelty value but the novelty does wear a little thin when it comes to a choice between lugging suitcases up the stairs or ferrying them one at a time in the elevator.
Matteo is an excellent, friendly and helpfull host. I always felt safe, the room was clean and bedding and towels were changed regurlarly. The water was always hot and the water pressure constant. Guests could fetch hot drinks from the machine in the dining room at any time and free of charge. Guests could store food items in the small fridge in the dining room. Quite a number of shops in Via Faenza where healthy snacks, wine and water could be bought as well as nice restsurants. Within walking distance from all the important places of interest and close to station. Wi-fi signal strong and constant.
The steet, Via Faenza, is not to clean, but that is hardly Matteo's fault. As the guest house is on the top floor of the small block of flats guests are quite removed from the street.
Room was cozy. Location was excelent for traveling by train to nearby cities like Pisa, Venice, Bologna. Breakfast was good and they always had something new everyday. Matteo was an excellent host, he was always willing to help to make the most of our time in Italy.
The location was perfect.Close to the historic center and the station. The breakfast was full and not only sweet. Access to coffee machine round the clock.
Very noisy street. Very small elevator.
Close to train station. Good reception person Mateo. Spoke good English, plus he baked fresh cakes for breakfast. Good breakfast included. Location was good for many restaurants, and not too far from The Duomo, and Piazza dela Signoria
Elevator was very tiny and only held one person with luggage...barely.
The staff was very responsive and assisted with storage of our luggage so we could sightsee until our train departure at 9PM. Breakfast was very nice.
Bed was not too comfortable and elevator was extremely small; could not accommodate 2 people and small luggage simultaneously.
Everything! As a solo travel I would stay here again in a heartbeat. No questions asked!
Nothing! Well there is one thing. The maximum number of guests that can be accommodated is 3, which means I can't stay here when my family and I come to visit since there is 4 of us.
Our room was very comfortable. Our host was extremely helpful answering questions and suggestions. Very clean. Coffee and snacks available 24 hrs. Helpful when I needed e tickets printed. Everything was great for us. Thank you Mathew
-good breakfast, confortable room (like at home), clean bathroom -easy to access -towels are changed everyday if you want
-the way tile for the b&b is not smooth. -the lift of the building is very small.
We would especially like to thank the host Matteo for his kindness and heplful assistance! We would definitely come back to Arco Antico.
I loved my recent stay in Arco Antico in beautiful Firenze! Came for 3 days for business (Pitti) and this place was much more than I was expected! So central (literally 2 minutes walk from the SMN station), but also quiet. Clean, spacious and nicely decorated room with safebox, own set of keys to the building, basic, but tasty breakfast with great coffee from the machine. Owner- Matteo was helpful and welcoming, I will definitely use this place again. And one more plus- great and fast Wi-Fi needed for my work. Bravissimo!
No bad points really- well, maybe lift in the building is tiny, but at the same time it has its own, Italian charm. No prob at all!
Matteo, the owner, is very helpful. Also, the location of Arco Antico is just great. It is very close to the train station and the city centre. Not to mention that my room was very clean and comfortable.
I could hear my neighbours taking shower. I guess the wall between a bathroom and my room was not very thick.
Matteo was extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. Very clean and lovely environment. Great value for money
Everything was brilliant! Thank you, Matteo!
Matteo was very friendly, and even gave me a free upgrade since he had a room free.
Breakfast starting at 8.30 is too late for a business traveller.
The hotel was a bit difficult to find but it was very close to the train station and convenient. The room was rather small but clean and comfortable.
The air conditioner was noisy...
Staff is very nice. Breakfast is very rich. The room is big and clean. Everything is perfect.
Service mind Facility Breakfast Location
Too small lift
The staff was so nice and helpful. Room and location were perfect!
good location, comfortable bed and nice staff who is the owner I guess
a bit hard to find it
hospitality of staff, dining room open 24 hr. Around the property lots of restaurant, shop etc.
Lift's inner door must open inward so it is difficult to close when put the luggage inside
Excellent location -3min walk from Firenze SMN station, eating places and a local market Clean and comfortable room; tv wasn't working but we didn't even tell the owner as we were out most of the time anyway Helpful host
Very good location near stazione santa maria novella , the owner was too friendly and helpful , the room was clean and nicely decorated
the lift of the building was too small ,the breakfast was quite standard
