The owners are extremely helpful and friendly - nothing is too much trouble. A car parking place has to be booked in advance. When I booked the room I wrote in the special requests that we would like a car parking place and I had an e-mail almost by return from Aretusa Vacanze confirming that we had a space reserved and also confirming directions. The room itself was very comfortable, a characteristic sicilian room rather than a stereotypical hotel room. These are not criticisms but just things to be aware of; You will need the hotel directions to find Aretusa Vacanze. We finished up leaving the car and walking into the area - we saw the signs but the hotel is down a tiny alley and when we were driving we kept missing it. Also, the hotel is next to a very popular and very good, typically Sicilian restaurant but this means that it can be noisy until around midnight. Best advice is to eat there and stay until everyone else leaves!!

From the moment we arrived in Siracusa, at almost midnight, the staff went out-of-their-way to direct us to the hotel over the phone, and to take our car to the garage. The location can make it difficult to find after darkness has fallen, but it was well worth the wait. We cannot praise this hotel enough as a place from which to explore Siracuse. Occasionally, the loud music from the fairly handy (and excellent!) Old Pub, did penetrate the room. But this is a mild criticism, caused by the intimacy of that part of this lovely old city.

This family held lovely hotel has been the 1st stop of our trip in Sicily. Everything has been perfect: location, very friendly people, price, cleanness of the room. In case of next visit to SIracusa for sure we will choose it again. Very suggested both for families and singles, young of older people. And the possibility to have parking in the real downtown of Ortigia is a plus for sure.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was good with a kitchenette. Breakfast was served on the roof top which overlooked the city and ocean. Breakfast was plentiful and staff very obliging. Close to many sights and particularly the puppet show which I recommend for children and adults. Hard to locate the hotel even with the gps. One way traffic meant that if you missed the turnoff to the hotel you had to go around the island again for another 15 minutes in very small busy streets. Hotel parking available but hard to find and parking in the streets very difficult.

Owners and staff are very welcoming and keen on helping with anything. The room's equipment and decoration are nice (a kitchenette was available), breakfast was good and served on a terrace with a view. It's located in a central area close to restaurants, sights and shopping possibilities. The surroundings are beautiful.

Very friendly and helpful family run place with the best breakfast we had in Sicilian hotels. No need for the kitchenette in the room as there are lots of good restaurants just around the corner.

Excellent location in Ortygia area; very professional and helpful staff; good value for money; bedroom quite comfortable, good kitchen setup (fridge, two-burner stove, cooking tools etc). Corridors, breakfast area and parts of the room were quite tiny and claustrophic - the bedroom itself was fine but we sometimes felt cramped (probably emphasized by heavy rain and wind during our stay). As always we miss a microwave in a small kitchen but this is not an Italian tradition! Would recommend the place but with these comments.

Aretusa Vacanze B&B is in the nice part of the old town of Syracuse. The staff especially Antonio are very friendly & the breakfast is fantastic. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Close to some good local restaurants with a family atmosphere. A laptop with WIfi in the room was fantastic. Free parking - but a few minutes walk from the hotel.

Personnel was fatanstic. Very helpful and nice. I parked my car close to the hotel and was not sure if it was ok to leave the car there. Somebody offered to go with me and check if my car was at a good place. He wnet in the car with me and showed me a good place (10m from the hotel). Very good service. Breakfast is a good mediterranean type.

Helpful, friendly staff members. Rooms were clean and the breakfast that was included was very good with a good variety of foods. We did not realize when booking the room that we would be so far from a main location for guided tours to local attractions. We had to hire taxis to get us to train station and take the train to Catania to start our group tours which was about an hour away.

This boutique hotel is superbly run by a family who cannot do enough to help. Breakfast on the terrace on top of the hotel is charming and because of its cosy nature gives you the opportunity to meet with and talk to other guests and compare notes about where to go. The rooms are as one would expect in a small building but are comfortable and well- appointed with small kitchenettes if one wishes to self-cater (which we didn't). All the staff are great - Maurizio, Antonio, Ector, Flavia, Cynthia and the two lads who did breakfast.

Right In the center of the old town, close to the attractions and restaurants. Small roof with a view over the town and sea. A laptop with WIfi in the room. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. Large room and shower. Free parking - but a few minutes walk from the hotel. The bed was noisy and not comfortable.

We found Aretusa b&b excellent lovely staff especially Antonio who left recection to make sure that our hire car was parked safely. The buffet breakfast was excellent and got you off to a good start in the morning. It was in a very central location near places of interest, good restaurants and right by the sea which was very enjoyable as you got the sea breeze also there was an area where you could swim off the rocks. Which was nice in temperatures of 30 degrees!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Ortigia and would recommend this b & B.

The entry is a bit off-putting (they could really do with a bit of a remodel there) but the rest of it is quite quaint, clean and spacious. Our room was a 2 bedroomed apartment with a small kitchenette. The bathroom was huge and very nice and the beds/pillows very comfortable. Breakfast on the roof terrace was very good - attentive service for making coffees, etc... The parking garage is about a 10 minute walk away - quite difficult with luggage. Wi-fi connection was slow.
