Location was so close to Roma Termini, Rome central train station. That's all. Let me first tell you that I've read all reviews about Ariston and some other hotels in Rome. I was there in hot season and decided too late for booking, so I had few choices, but be sure that if this experience repeat again in future, I won't go to Ariston. I prefer to stay in a hostel to waste my money in Ariston. (Let me tell you you can find some very good and comfortable 2-3stars hotel and bed&breakfast in Italy specially in Rome) I've read reviews and all of them was about very good location, however I don't think that Ariston is located in a special location. Yes it is 2 minutes far from Roma Termini, but I think it's not an brilliant advantage. Rome as a tourism city is not a very wide one. My wife and I stayed in Rome for 5 days and visited everywhere just by walking, However Rome underground network is not expanded enough (only 2 lines), on the other hand taxis in Rome are not to expensive. On the other hand, the location was too crowded, noisy and not clean. So if you are going to stay only one night, it would good to stay near Roma Termini, however I don't recommend Ariston. But if you are going to stay in Rome for more than one day, there are many many locations in Rome more enjoyable than near central station. Ariston claims that is a 4stars hotel. let's look at profiling system of European Hotelstars Union and definition of 4stars hotels: "In addition to the comfort star (***) hotels: - Reception opened 18 hours, accessible by phone 24 hours from inside and outside - Lobby with seats and beverage service - Breakfast buffet or breakfast menu card via room service - Minibar or 24 hours beverages via room service - Upholstered chair/couch with side table - Bath robe and slippers on demand - Cosmetic products (e.g.

The bathroom was quiet large however the shower area was curtained off at about 750sq so the curtain just stuck to you making it very uncomfortable and the floor was flooded after every shower. We booked a triple room a but www were given a double with a converted lounge. These are not suitable for large children.;'

The breakfast was good, the staff was friendly and helpful. They also had a nice bar with a buffet that you could eat dinner at, which was nice, since we had a baby with us and weren't able to go out to eat late at a restaurant. Saved us from eating sandwiches every night! When we arrived, the front desk staff explained that there was a hotel tax in Rome that would need to be paid at check out. They did not explain that it could only be paid in cash and not added to the credit card, which must have been a hotel policy, because at another hotel in Rome on this same trip, we paid the tax together with the bill on the credit card. This caused problems the morning we were trying to leave at 5:30 A.M. and didn't have the cash with us to pay the tax. Also, the site gave the size of the room at 215 sq. Ft., And it was definitely much smaller than another room we stayed in at another hotel that was listed at 194 sq. Ft., So one of the hotels didn't have its room measurements correct, but I couldn't say which one.

Noisy hotel, housekeeping especially. The springs of the mattress were sticking out, which made the night less than comfortable. It is very central, but very close to termini station. Which is a good thing, but could also be a bad thing. The neighborhood looks a bit "rough"

The hotel is well located near train station. In the bath room, there is neither hook for tower, nor glass or cup holders for tooth brush! They provided shampoo and soap only when arrived, the following days nothing!, Although it is a non smoking hotel or sign on each floor, but still letting other guests smoking in their rooms and it smells out in the corridor, and even penetrating in our room.

We arrived late so that we were glad that we found our hotel very easy, it is located next to Termini. The breakfast was good, I estimated it was worse after I had seen the room. The room, especially the bathroom, was in a dowdy and dirty condition. The bathroom fixtures were damaged and not well fixed to the wall. There was fungi. For me the hotel is not worth 4 stars.

I didn't like this hotel at all. We had a terrible experience with the staff of the hotel. They gave us a room in which the air conditioning didn't work. The staff kept lying all day and preteding that there was no problem and at night when they couldn't hide the problem anymore they offer us a fan...great solution !! Since it was very hot in Rome that day, I ask to transfert to another hotel...the answer was : you can go but we will charge you for the room anyway. I wouldn't trust this hotel, its staff and management. If you want to stay close to the train station there are plenty of hotels around the area, avoid this place. This hotel is not a four stars, they just want your money.
