I was able to upgrade to a very nice "superior" room for an extra 40 EUR per night. This was excellent, and I had a good week. The original room was really horrible - nasty cleaning fluids, stained carpets, very worn out. I did not like the idea of staying in that room for 5 nights. Hard to believe that Ariston can maintain a 4 star rating with such rooms. |

The breakfast was terrific, the best we had during our trip to Italy. The staff was uniformly polite and respectful, and the day staff at the front desk, particularly 2 men (didn't note their names) went out of their way to be helpful, make arrangements for restaurants, tours, etc, enquire afterwards about our experience. Very warm and welcoming. Responded to room concerns. We were put in a dark, depressing room. While it was clean, had a comfy bed and decent bathroom, the window let in no light-it had a shutter that couldn't be opened. We asked to be moved to a room that faced the street & were much happier-it was brighter, larger. The rug was stained & dated.The deluxe rooms are modern & chic, altho friends that booked deluxe only got a regular room. Dicey area. |
