The Generator Venice is on the shores of Giudecca Island, with views of Saint Mark's Square in the distance. It is a 10-minute ride by water bus to Venice Island with lines 4.1, 4.2 and 2.
Score from 1012 reviews Very good
Venice Paradise is a friendly hostel in its own gardens and located between 2 ferry stops: Accademia and San Samuele.
Score from 211 reviews Very good
Friendly Venice is a 3 minute walk from the Fine Arts Academy and 5 minutes from Saint Mark's Square. This female-only hostel offers rooms with free Wi-Fi and parquet or tiled floors.

Just 165 ft from San Zaccaria vaporetto waterbus stop, Bed & Venice - Casa per Ferie la Pietà has a terrace with panoramic views of Venice Lagoon. It features rooms and dormitories with free Wi-Fi.
Score from 570 reviews Very good
The location was fantastic - close to key Venice sights and easy to find, especially with the emailed directions. Rooms were clean and cosy and the entire hostel is bright and colourful in a lovely old building. WiFi worked a lot better than other placed I've stayed.
Not all staff were as friendly as the next and it might not be as lively as some travellers might prefer - but for getting up and going exploring, it was ideal. Paying extra for sheets is not great, especially as it's not the cheapest hostel in the first place.
The location was excelent, not far from the busy areas of the city but not in the middle of the noisy center. The room was wide and spacious, the facilities very clean and the staff really helpful.
It's a bit far from the train station, but the walk there is nice. Also it's expensive compared to similar hostels in other cities of Italy, but that's Venice after all. Some breakfast included would have been nice though.
It's a smaller quiet hostel. Nice place to relax for a bit. Kitchen is clean as well as the rooms and two shared bathrooms. Location is about 30 min walk from the trains, but it's a good spot to stay in the city.
Water pressure and hot water in the shower weren't the best.
Staff was helpful. Very nice kitchen for guests to use.
Too much noise by other guests until very late at night. Long queues for the toilets in the morning.
Quiet, clean, central (but off the tourist migration route). Beautiful old building; rooms are large and full of air and light. Pleasant staff and fellow travellers. Easy to find coming from Accademia bridge and Campo Santo Stefano.
These are not complaints but things people should know when they book. Credit cards are used only to hold a reservation, and payment in cash is expected on arrival (this wasn't obvious to me when I first arrived at The Academy, which led to some awkwardness...this was quickly resolved). Staff are not always present at reception but can be reached easily by phone, e-mail, or notes left on the reception desk.
nice staff and clean, in a great location a short walk from the S. Samuele water bus.
Nice staff and location. Clean and quiet.
Just a 2 Minute Walk from San Samuele Waterbus Station. A Nice Kitchen and the barhroom/showers are excellent & clean for a hostel. Would stay there Again .
I stayed in the Academy with a friend for three nights and was very happy with the location. We managed to visit everything within a walking distance from the Academy. A bit hard to find when you are a foreigner but the great location and the cleanliness of the place makes it definitely worth it. I recommend this place!
The reception lady is excellent, friendly. She offered me the cozy room.
The price of bed clothes is expensive...€5 per one set...
It was rrally expencive for what it was. Really hard to find the place and new teally saw the person working there. However the bathroom facilities were amazing
Price and hard to find
The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was a great spot to meet people
Hard to find location, no real signage. Staff could have been more helpful.
The location is really central, but hard to find for the first time.
They will get you on fees for any and everything. They take advantage of your wallet and it can ruin a trip. One of the staff members was so rude my friends and I never wanted to even be in the hostel. It was just an apartment turned into a hostel with very very strict rules. Very quiet. Not a fun stay at all.
Personal is very friendly. 2 living rooms. Very nice place.
the staff is nice and the rooms are clean
Hard to find
Excelent place to stay, good location, the member of the staff called Rupu is an excellent person and very helpful. I felt there that i was in my home.
staff was friendly and helpful
location was almost hidden down a dead end street
Rupu is good!
It was a nice place to stay
Dificult to found, threre is no sign to know where the hostel is
very kind manager guiding the way. nice location near the waterbus st.
Very good experience. I have been there for 9 days. It is the favorite hostel I have ever stayed in Italy. Very nice and funny staff. Excellent location and facility. It worth every penny I spend there.
The Hotel was close to the San Marco Basilica and its beautiful surroundings. I went to the Basilica on foot and it only took me around 15 minutes. The kitchen was tiny but it enabled me to warm my lunch and made a cup of coffe
There was no linen provided
-Staff -High Price -Difficult to find -Not accepting cards -Have to pay for blankets...
Only two bathrooms so there's a line sometimes.
The clean bathrooms, the working wifi available in the room.
