The Royal Continental is right on Naples' seafront promenade, in a quiet neighborhood. It features a stunning rooftop pool, with panoramic views out over the Bay of Naples and Castel dell'Ovo.
Score from 1973 reviews Very good
The bed was very uncomfortable and the wifi signal was very weak in our room.
The view of the galleria, the hotel was like a museum, very cute and spacious in the room.
Beautiful room and lobby, good location, near everything
I understood but...each time open the gate at night or on holidays, must be called in doorbell is little bothersome, and each time use the elevator on daytime and weekdays, must need coin is also little bothersome. Disappointment, because of whole Galleria Umberto was under renovation on Feb.'15 and covered, so couldn't see historical sculptures.
Close to Naples sights and the building is also historic spot. We were looking forward to be seen the Galleria from the room or breakfast area. Although the building is old, the rooms are good condition and clean. Shower booth and toilet is stand out old, but not smell old, and drains,(I hate smell...) Staffs are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is enough which compared with the hotel scale and cost.
1. More light over the bathroom mirror would be helpful for shaving. 2. Noise from renovations in the galleria was intrusive in the mornings but this is hardly the fault of the hotel. 3. The lift operation is a bit strange (10 cent coins required) 4. The entrance can be a little difficult to find at night
1. Outstanding staff. Personable, friendly and very willing to help. My request for a strong wifi signal before my arrival was met by a router being put on my desk. Perfect! 2. Unique décor in a unique situation above the Galleria Umberto I. It is almost like staying in a museum or being in a production of 'The Merry Widow'. Perhaps a little over the top for some with so much plush red and gold and canopied bed, but Hotel Art Resort certainly has a different feel. 3. Perfect location for visiting teatro San Carlo which is literally across the road. 3. Breakfast room is light, airy and has an agreeable feel. 4. Scrambled eggs made on the spot were delicious.
Access, expensive car park,
Wifi was free but didn't work in our room for some reason. It did work in the breakfast room and the lounge though.
The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The rooms are well decorated and inviting, amazing view (if you request the room vith a gallery view).
Our mattress could have been better..
We were welcomed very warmly and from the very beginning we were treat excellently. - Our room was very nice, very very calm and spacious with a beautiful and cozy balcony.. Bathroom was also nice. -Breakfast was good. They even offer scrambled / fried eggs etc. This breakfast service is not normal for Italy.. -Location is amazing: the Galeria is really beautiful, but also the location is great.. just in the middle of the shopping & restaurant area.. -Staff was very very friendly and professional. - no parking, but close to the hotel is a parking garage.. When coming back to Napoli, we will stay again in this hotel, I would anytime recommend this hotel to my friends.
don't rely on wifi you will find not so good connection.
Wonderful hotel, very well located, very clean and comfortable. especially if you like the old style furnishings this hotel is for you
We will choose this hotel also on our next visit to Napoli. Michal & Eli
Strange system to pay for the elevator, you can not get your hotel on the 4th floor by the elevator not having a 10 cents coin. It was twice that the personnel had forgotten to provide coins so we had an additional sport being already very tired. Tired rooms and especially bathroom. Weak wifi.
Location, the breakfast stuff.
Hotel is quite small, you must use intercom at locked gate in shopping mall for access in & out. Cafe/bar didnt appear to be open when returning in evening time. No safe provided in room.
Hotel is located in an amazing building, in an area with easy access to tourist sites & also to hop on/off bus tours. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The breakfast could have been a little better, not always hot and ran out of items for two of our guests.
Loved the glass roof and the lift to the hotel lobby, all very old but added to its charm. The staff were very helpful at all times, the art was tasteful and beautiful..
we drove,.... when we asked the front desk where should we park..... He laughed at us. It was very hard to find do to the construction being done on the building. Scaffolding everywhere, maybe when that's done things will be better. I would not recommend this place!!!
breakfast is too simple too sweet.
Location, location, location
Breakfast was a bit below expectations, but still very good (fresh fruit juices would be great, one day we had one, the other not).
The location is simply great and the hotel itself is very beautifully furnished. The paintings (reproductions and originals) are very good.
Location and very helpful staff
Poor soundproofing between rooms meant that one could hear voices from normal conversations. Disappointing array of furniture & fittings & serious lack of storage. Did not offer 4 * facilities e,g, bar/restaurant. Breakfast buffet not 4 * standard & a bit hit and miss.
The staff were wonderful. Great location. Fantastic building. Spacious room. Coffee was superb.
We were welcomed by Antonio, who showed us our giant room (marble floors & bath), and gave us great restaurant recommendations in the area. The hotel is very close to port Beverello, ferry point for Capri & Amalfi. The hotel is also along a great shopping street and a block from Piazza plebescito. Excellent location!
This hotel's location offers a unique experience which is enhanced by a very obliging and attentive staff.
Noise from Galleria at night can be a little disturbing.
Ideal Napoli location. Close to harbor, palace, old city, Ave. Toledo! Great view of the Galleria. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful.
All was perfect.
Fabulous hotel in this amazing location. We had a lovely room with a balcony . The staff were all so friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
The only issue was around the bathroom, some of the finish was not 4 star, and the shower lacked power and consistently hot.( the evening before, the shower was luck warm at it's best, but in them morning was hot.
location, ideal for visiting Naples, easy walking to most local area's. Lovely and peaceful, good size room( we had a superior room), which had classic design and art work, tall ceilings which were painted, and marble floors. Great choice for breakfast in the morning.
We had the disabled room which was not workable for a disabled person. I am presuming this as I able bodied. Shower dribbled, high step into it, shower door blocked to open fully as too near sink. No safety handle once in. Door stiff.
Place in arcade was interesting, staff helpful and polite, spoke good English. Breakfast very good, view over arcade fascinating. Bed linen crisp cotton. Towels good.
Room 103 - poor outlook from balcony, decor dark and dingy and shower unit well below standard - avoid! Other rooms excellent.
The hotel had a good atmosphere and helpful, friendly staff, particularly Antonio, Francesco, Ambi and Vanna. Ideally situated for city, metro station, ferry terminus, restaurants and major places of interest.
I can't think of anything I did not like.
The room was located near the ferry port and was a nice size. The breakfast was delicious.
