The Royal Continental is right on Naples' seafront promenade, in a quiet neighborhood. It features a stunning rooftop pool, with panoramic views out over the Bay of Naples and Castel dell'Ovo.
Score from 1747 reviews Very good
Place in arcade was interesting, staff helpful and polite, spoke good English. Breakfast very good, view over arcade fascinating. Bed linen crisp cotton. Towels good.
We had the disabled room which was not workable for a disabled person. I am presuming this as I able bodied. Shower dribbled, high step into it, shower door blocked to open fully as too near sink. No safety handle once in. Door stiff.
The room was located near the ferry port and was a nice size. The breakfast was delicious.
I can't think of anything I did not like.
Staff spoke very good English, understood our needs and advised us in an intelligent and informed way.
Bathroom tiles had brown marks in the grouting and limescale around the tap. NO HOT WATER FOR A SHOWER AFTER DINNER AND NO HOT WATER FOR US BEFORE BREAKFAST.
Location, decor and room
Excellent location! my room was with view on the gallery - very comfortable and clean. breakfast on the gallery balcony was very nice. Highly recommend to everyone
beautiful design, in an old building with an arch roof, connecting the shopping area of 4 buildings; very old and small elevator, you have to put in 10 cents coin to activate it. good location, close to the ferry, castle, opera house, shopping malls; room is comfortable and big, staff is friendly
every time you have to find a 10 cents coin to activate the elevator, a bit fun but sometimes troublesome
Hotel is in a superb setting. Central location. Clean and adequate breakfast.
The main building is being renovated and there is much scaffolding and a degree of noise from the ongoing work.
location staff quirky
bathroom hard bed smelt damp breakfast terrible
Hotel rooms very large, central, comfortable
Was not aware economy rooms were separate to main hotel but still within galleria, when we were told we were unsure how to react but experience was not negatively impacted
Located next to a pedestrian shopping zone on Via Toledo. Within walking distance to the marina and the National Archaeological Museum of Naples (about 15 minutes along Via Toledo, closed to traffic for about 1/3 of the walk). The staff was very friendly and used their computer to help us change our train tickets to Rome so we could spend a few more hours in Naples.
It's just 10 rooms located on the 4th floor. The lift/elevator to the 4th floor is weird. You have to put 10cents in a little box to get it going!!!! Really!!! Wouldn't stay there again.
impressive, original, nice! I would recommend to all
Loved the location to the port for access to ferries to Capri and Procida. also good access to via Toledo. excellent value for money.
Location. Artsy feel
Gal at breakfast making breakfast lady not friendly
Really centrally and in walking distance from everything
Beautiful situated hotel, very individual, very friendly and helpful staff, nice breakfast.
There can be problems with the hot water in the shower but that is what is to be expected in an old building of this kind.
Location in a beautiful building, close to port and ferries to Capri, Ischia and elsewhere. Close to excellent restaurants at reasonable prices e.g. al Cucciolo and il Gobbetto. Comfort of room which was quiet and had a terrace and excellent breakfast served by friendly staff.
Minor lack of maintenance - we had a problem with a leaky shower/bath.
Central for tourist sites and shopping. Staff very helpful, made us feel right at home
Confusion on arrival as we were dropped by taxi at front of Galleria and were directed to wrong part of hotel, which meant another walk through shopping centre pulling luggage.
the location for us close to all amenities that we required, the building itself was fabulous.
Great location. Walk to waterfront dining, palace, Castel Nuovo, funicular, Molo Beverello dock for high speed ferries to Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi, Capri and more. We took a taxi up to he Archeological Museum and walked back down via Toledo which ends at Umberto Galleria. View to the inside of the Galleria is amazing. A bit on the funky side but a cool and unique experience. Breakfast is adequate.
Beds are not very comfortable. It was difficult for us to find the elevator to access the hotel on the 4th floor within Galleria Umberto. (Stand under the center rotunda and slowly turn until you see tall wrought iron gates. There will be a small brass plaque with the name "Hotel Arte Resort") You may have to get "buzzed in" using the speaker phone attached to the gate. Make sure you have 10 cents (euro cents) for the elevator.
We traveled 18 days throughout Italy and we were very impressed where this property was located and the proximity to the train station and lots of shopping. We Arrived on a Sunday & were fortunate to see formal ballroom dancing in period costumes in the center of the square that we could view from the balcony- lovely property - would definitely stay there again. Breakfast very good!
Very poor view
Staff super friendly. Bed clean and toilet clean. Great location and of course beautiful duomo. Because of the direction by the staff, we end up taking a detour to capri by ferry and blue grotta before our destination to positano. Credit for the staff
Location is perfect. Theater San Carlo and all the main places of interest are in 2-5 minutes of walk. Art Decoration is very nice in the rooms. Rooms are well equipped and well furnished in old barocco style :) Everything is in place. Breakfasts are good, but not very rich. Please keep 10cents to use an elevator during working hours: hotel is located on one floor of the Umberto Gallery, which is used for offices.
You may have problems with car parking nearby.
The style and design of the room was very nice and refreshing. The location is very safe and secure (on 4th floor). The bed was very comfortable
10cent required to use the lift. Noise from large crowd in square approx 500m from hotel. A shower guard/curtain is not supplied on the bath - water is splashed all around bathroom floor as a result.
Beautiful rooms. Beautiful location. Excellent breakfast. Great staff.
Bathroom was a little bit tired - in need of a refurb.
