Set on Ortigia’s Piazza Archimede with its pretty fountain, B&B Itaca is an intimate property in a 15th-century building. It offers free Wi-Fi and modern rooms with a marble private bathroom.
Score from 119 reviews Excellent
This charming, late 19th-century building is situated in one of the main streets in the historic center of Syracuse, just a 3 minute walk from Ortigia.
Score from 402 reviews Very good
Located at the edge of Siracusa’s Borgata quarter, La Maison Des Rêves has free Wi-Fi throughout. Rooms feature views of the Madonna delle Lacrime Church and the garden of the Paolo Orsi Museum.
Score from 369 reviews Excellent
Lovely courtyard, crisp clean linen & fluffy towels, water and juice in the fridge and plenty of cooking equipment, though food at the local restaurant, 'Jonico' excellent and hard to resist. A short walk to the marina, where you can enjoy the view from one of the bars with a glass of the superb Nero D'Avola.
A long walk to the bus/train stations, and local buses take some working out. Timetables/info would be useful. A faulty socket in the bathroom, toilet seat kept collapsing, and shower cubicle a bit shabby, though clean enough. Teabags weak and tasteless, so bring your own, unless you prefer coffee.
No wifi although advertised. The coffee machine did not work. Paying city taxes but no proof of that.
kitchen well equipped, towels change every day.
breakfast poor, shower very small and needs a deep cleaning
Dirty bathroom, low light in the room, horrible bed, the room and bathroom needs repair.
The staff is really nice. Whatever you ask for they will try their best to get you. The price is fair.
The location and description do not really match the reality. The "private courtyard" of the "luxury studio" turned out to be a small square of interior paved between different houses with enough space for a clothes hanger. When you read the description you imagine this studio by the seaside with a nice courtyard to enjoy the views. The studio is in the back part of some complex of buildings, interior, with very little natural light coming in, and definitely no such thing as a "private courtyard" (bye bye to my dreamed breakfast with views to the seaside). The kitchennette is so small that you can hardly move in it. The promised wifi connection only works in the front part of this caved in studio (similar to the arcosolios of the catacombs) so you have to move a chair into the ally in the entrance to work. This is not convenient at all when you have to work and have to rely on an internet connection. The price is fair although a little overpriced for the "end product".
