Astoria Palace Hotel  

For Palermo, a decent location, high above the street in a not especially scary neighbourhood. Staff was responsive when we asked to change rooms in order to get a double bed (as opposed to twins). Breakfast was not a disappointment. Room and bathroom ok, if a little dated. Decent though far from outstanding value for money.

The hotel is essentially an apartment block tossed up some decades ago, with all the charm that suggests. Ok for business or families, not recommended for romance.

This hotel was great and definitely an oasis from an hectic mess of a city. When we arrived in Palermo from the ferry, the uncleanliness of the city made us very leary of what kind of hotel we might be staying in but once we stepped inside the doors of the hotel, that noise and grunge was left behind. If you must stay in Palermo, I definitley recommend this hotel. The only reason I rated this hotel with a fair rating for location was that Palermo was not the most desireable place to stay in, but it does serve as a good hub for traveling elsewhere.

I would not recommend this hotel since it was very far from the center city and had only one very mediocre restaurant.

near hotel is very durty, there isnot possibli to go uot from hotel. the market with vegetabls near hotel do terribel, i was very sad that havnot good vacation, becouse everything near hotel is veryyyyyyyyy durty. but its problem of city. I never will go to Sicilia

Staff too busy with large tour parties to spend time in responding to individual request for infornation,not friendly or welcoming.. On departure I made my complaint to a staff member who was willing to listen. Our stay at the Costazurra in San Leone was excellent as the staff were really fantastici.

The environment in the hotel is excellent and the room is very comfortable, the counters are very helpful.

The technician in this hotel is good but too less, I think only one is not enough because I waited more than 2 hours for my service

Free parking

The location is not comfortable-the street is so loud and fruit market is near which starts working at 3 a.m. It's too noisy. The room was not clean, the toilet was dirty!!! I'll not recomment staing in this hotel. The breacfast is poor.

A great hotel. Very clean and the staff speaks english, a rare commodity in italy. We got a great recommendation from the staff about where to go out at night and eat/drink wine, and also how to drive there, which turned out to be a great tip which eventually resulted in an unforgettable evening. Breakfast is great.

Apparantly the hotel is located nearby a local market, which was a bit smelly at the time we were there, walking around nearby the hotel at night time wasn't the best experience, lots of garbage in the street as well. Its surely not the hotel's fault at any way.

Hotel is not bad, it needs some maintenance but quite fair for its value for money.Best part is the jacuzzi on the rooftop plus the evenings you can spend up at the bar.

Location, area was very run down

Arrived quite late. However, hotel staff at the bar helped us to provide something to bite as the restaurant was already closed.
