There is nothing good actually, The location is ok, but Venice is so small, that you can stay everywhere Everything is extremely poor old and dirty. If you have a chance to shoose another place to stay - do it. I booked the dormitory - but it was so awful, that I had to change for a single room, that costed much more,, and it was even not good. There is no chance to go in and out during the night time, this hotel seems to be a prison

It was available last minute and close to St Marks Square. Toilet was broke and had to use the communal one.

Nothing I would give this hotel a very bad rating and would not recommend it. In fact if you pay around 10 - 15 Euros more at a different hotel you would enjoy and have a pleasant time in Venice. I did not like anything about Hotel Astoria and to be honest I would not recomend the hotel as their customer service was very bad, the bed's were very uncomortable, their were bugs and mosquitos in the room, breakfast was not satisfying and there was absolutely no value for money.

Just the location...a few minutes walk from Saint Mark square...and occasionally when I did a booking for a shared-dorm....I Found myself being given a key for a double-bed room to stay on my own initially...after having a walk in the city I came back and they placed a Russian girl with me...shamefully nothing happened ;-) (she was married) There were holes in the floor underneath the carpet....a huge one in the first floor.. Walls were full of smashed-mosquitos stains, the bed linnen was filthy, wardrobe was filthy or broken (you can find a wardrobe in better shape in the trash)...a quite disgusting place to stay

Nothing. It should be a hotel with no stars. It is the worst hotel I have ever stay in my life. Everything was horrible. The carpet, the lobby, the rooms, no elevator, the location, the bathroom

Some of the rooms on the other side were quite nice - exposed wood beams, nice bathroom facilities. Although not very high quality overall, good value for money in Venice. Not very clean, our bathroom shower didnt drain very well and water leaked out of the stall. Nothing that other reviews havent mentioned. But overall I would recommend this hotel for people trying to get a roof over their heads for as little money as possible.

The hotel is very simple, but is relatively cheap and the location is excellent. There are reasonable rooms (103) and at least one (302) lousy. In a cheap hotel, but with that location, you cannot require much. It was worth it. O hotel é muito simples, mas é relativamente barato e a localização é excelente. Existem quartos razoáveis (103) e pelo menos um (302) péssimo. Em um hotel barato, mas com essa localização, não se pode exigir muito. Valeu a pena.

Only the location The room was dirty. The cupboards were broken. The extra linen was simply stuffed into the bottom of the broken cupboard.

The hotel is fully consistent with my desire to be alone, take a break from talks, will be silent (no matter in what language, :)))) The most important thing - I was going to Venice to photograph the city - it is very easy to do with this hotel. So many thanks to all the staff. I do not like the yellow color in interiors. In my room it was all yellow)))) I prefer green, blue, you can even orange. I mean, that would prefer diversity. I am a painter by profession, so pay attention to such things, but, of course, I'm not too upset )))))))

My room was quite clean and I had a private bathroom. The room has also got a tv. The staff from the hotel were friendly with me and there was always a receptionist. The breakfast is ok. Most of the people staying at this hotel are adults, although there were a few young people like me. The location is really good. My bathroom had a weird smell for the first two nights. My room wasn't really clean.

Great location, excellent value for money, and very good breakfast. Didn't realise there was no lift, more than 1 flight of stairs is hard work at the end of the day for mature folk.

This hotel/B&B could be 50% better with a few hours of a handyman work. It is an old facility however the things wrong are minor but botherson (loose toilet seat, shower spray handle that doesn't stay in place, light bulbs missing, hard to close windows, etc). The location is great. Breakfast very good.

The price was the major factor. It's tough sharing a room with someone especially after you've gone to sleep and you're wakened up to allow someone else in the room.

“The hotel/building is 400 years old. The location is brilliant, on the canal not far from St Marks Square. We had a room on the first floor and the window/balcony overlooked one of the canals where the gondolas were parked. Couldn't be better when in Venice. Staff very helpful.” Steve, Carrara Gold Coast |
