Close to train station & bus terminal but quite far from old town centre.
If some hotels are more mediocre than others, then this one is the most mediocre...Mostly business travellers...not recommended for tourists except if you are on tight budget. The hotel staff switch off the room power as soon as you leave the room, and we had to constantly remind them to switch our power back on to get the A/C to work. Not a great breakfast and room way too small...not a nice experience.
Good value for money!
Within walking distance to many popular sites and close to train station. Proximity to attractions and other important amenities. Friendly and helpful staff. Especially Giovanni and the front desk staff. Also, Angela made us perfect and unlimited coffee every morning. Our room #16 was nicely appointed and very private. We would like to go back and rent an apartment with our friends.
Wifi was sporadic but that seemed normal across Italy.
Size of the Rooms Personal unfriendly A/c didnt work Too expensive for what they offer
Good location (next to the train station and city center)
Too noisy, poor breakfast, shower out of order
The only advantage of this hotel is its location close to the railway station and the historic city center
From my point of view nothing was right, starting from the quality of staff who welcomed us hostile to services, unhygienic room, breakfast mockingly. The worst aspect, however, is of a financial nature, in the sense that my card was blocked amount of the first night the day before the date of retaining natural and although I paid cash, it was not unlocked any so far and probably as of internet banking will be released within a month.
Simple, small, nice and clean room.
Big shower head, but very little water coming out of it. Basic breakfast.
Friendly staff at reception. breakfast ok although busy and sometimes had to wait for table. room looks modern and was clean
wifi variable - had to keep logging in which was annoying
-great breakfast -comfortable and good value for money -efficient staff
-some parts of the hotel look a bit shabby
Conveniently located half-way between the train station and downtown, we spent a nice night in this place. The room was adequate, clean and quiet and the breakfast was above average for Italy - lots of pastries, different kinds of bread, meat, jam, honey, tea, coffee... it seemed abundant enough for us and we didn't have to wait for a table either. We didn't get a chance to take advantage of the offered (free!) bike rental service but in hindsight probably should have as there's lots to see in Bologna. (Also, let me take this opportunity to strongly recommend Bologna for a visit to you, it was absolutely wonderful - amazing food, lots of history and good shopping too!).
Nothing bad to say - the staff could have been more enthusiastic but they weren't unfriendly either and did what was asked of them.
Good breakfast Location close to the railway station
Unfriendly staff Wifi was broken Thin walls
We've had a nice stay in Hotel Astoria. Very good location, near to train station and perfect for a walk to city center. The staff was nice and helpful, assisting us with a map of Bologna and umbrella when raining. We've enjoyed our breakfasts.
Personnel should improve their english skills. By undersized window there was there was not enough sunlight in our room.
Air conditioning was turned off during the night. Staff kept our documents for "inspection" during check in with no explanation. Forth flour has no lift, so if you have heavy bags, like us, dont expect any help.
Our room was very clean and the bed comfortable. Location is good- close to station and 5 min walk to eateries
The staff were unfriendly and very unhelpful. They didn't even look up from the computer when spoken with. The breakfast was stale - they would be better offering something more simple with a better quality. The air conditioning unit in our room was leaking and made a dripping sound all night. The water leaking from it was obviously settling behind the wardrobe and was causing a sour smell.
Very reasonable for Bologna. Amazing shower! Good breakfast. Comfortable bed. Helpful staff.
Lacked the fawlty towers element that makes it memorable.
Hotel is around train station and it was easy to find. room was clean and breakfast is enough. Bologna is not so big you can discover by walking. If you dont go to a far place out of the city centre you dont even need bus. hotel also supply free bike and Bologna is a nice city to ride and discover by bike.
Good location, close to the city centre and in walking distance of affordable parking space. The rooms were big and clean.
The pillows were too hard. There were no glasses in the rooms but the reception gave them if asked.
I have stayed there 3 times in the last 3 months that says it all really :)
Very central and quite cheap in price for that. Staff also quite helpful and friendly.
Found an average big black insect under the blanket. It ran straight away, i dont had a problem with it but some woman might be terrified by that experience.
Location - close to Central Station (7 min walk) and to city center Clean rooms, equipped with basics Wifi easy to connect and with a good speed Quiet area
Breakfast - can be definitely improved No electric kettle in the room (they have a bar downstairs though in case you want to grab a coffee)
Clean+modern and quite spacious single room. Walking distance to the train station, quiet street, close to the Mambo (The Modern Art Museum + their lovely bookshop). The older man with glasses who worked the late shift, was super friendly, helpfull and service minded. Also loved Il Tartufo Trattoria, very close by. Excellent food (had only 2 starters+1 dessert) + excellent service from the lady who owns the place + great wine.
Old, crappy breakfast room. Very poor breakfast with no pride at all. According to the way the waitres looked, it somehow looked like a terrible place to work. The man in the reception also seemed grumpy, annoyed/unpatient and unhelpfull when I checked in. I thought my deal at booking.com offered me a free bike, but that offer was only for 3 hrs. The following hours was quite pricy. I think the location was too far away from the city centre and quite a long walk away from an aperitivo if you are in Bologna on your own. My room had a strange smell of smoke every time I entered the room, but got covered into a heavy air-refresher-chemical smell after a minute or so...
Clean hotel with friendly helpful staff. Cheap parking compared to other hotels in Bologna.
Quite a small room and wifi service disappointing.
The way in which the hotel is advertised on pictures and brochures has little to do with its actual state. It is worn-out, smells funny and the staff was not rude per se, but not too polite and engaged. I found it overpriced for what it is.
From outside the building looks like old traditional but it is very well renovated inside. Nice wall papers, lovely bathroom, good quality doors, spacious bed with nice firm mattress. Everything is brand new.
Located on a busy road. The air con could be more powerful.
Great wifi Very spacious room (single room, but had double bed & large bathroom) Flexible, multilingual staff Central location near train station Easy to find (good signage from trainstation) Felt stylish
Bed was a bit hard Free bike rental was a nice offer (and great for the neighborhood) but I couldn't get the chain to stay on the bike
