눉As short-stay travellers on a bit of a budget, we would have really liked a small bar fridge in the room (for our fruit, milk, cheese etc for our lunches). We didn't need the exercise bike in the bathroom - our room was already up 3 flights of stairs which gave us a good workout! Our room ("Liz") had a mezzanine with a wardrobe - a nice idea but not really convenient as we didn't want to climb a 4th set of stairs to get a shirt etc! Whilst our room & bathroom were air-conditioned, this was essential (not a luxury) as there was no window at all, only a non-opening skylight in the bedroom area. There were 3 big non-opening windows looking out to the main B&B staircase - 1 directly opposite our bed and 2 in the bathroom! They all had curtains which we kept closed for privacy, so missed the view of the 'winter garden' (some pretty pot-plants on the staircase). A desk and an upright chair would have been very useful (for writing emails etc). There were several pieces of antique-style furniture which made the room look comfortable, but most were decorative and not actually usable or useful. We would love to stay again, but we would ask for "Sophie", the much smaller (usual hotel-sized) room without the mezzanine, still with a/c but with an opening window too, and much less expensive!
눇A wonderful place to stay overall! The owner Giampiero was extremely helpful: he carried our big suitcase up the 3 flights of stairs to the 3rd (B&B) floor (were G, 1st, 2nd & 3rd floors); he gave us maps and made great suggestions for sight-seeing; he allowed us to use the laundry, and at no charge; and was very friendly and welcoming. He spoke very good English - thank you, Giampiero! The B&B location was excellent and we had free parking in the courtyard. The atmosphere of the old building, furnishings etc were very beautiful. We were lucky to get this room - the last of 3 available in the B&B.
