Small but friendly town.
Small but friendly town. Please note that on Friday night all the restaurants in the center are reserved and none accepts that a tourist wants to have dinner at 8.30 pm. Even after looking around I couldn't find a single restaurant that would accept to serve me. Although they continue with empty tables waiting for reservations. Never again and be careful it's a beautiful city to see and leave in 2 hours.

I spent only one night in Carrara with the goal to visit Carrara Marble Tour. The tour was super interesting, I would definitely recommend the tour. I enjoyed the walks in the area of Piazza Alberica. It is interesting to see the usage of marble in the city. I had a dinner at Osteria la Piazza and I would recommend the place.

The best thing about Carrara is the trip up into the surrounding marble mountains to visit the quarries there. This is a superbly organised tour with stunning views of the working quarries - an 'out there' experience.
Carrara itself is small and, although it has some nice piazzas, has nothing much to recommend it for.

A beautiful city famous for its quarries in the mountains nearby and white marble. It has long beaches and many good restaurants. There are several small interesting tourist places nearby, A trip to nearby Pisa or Cinque Terre is also wonderful experience.

Carrara provided more interest than we had anticipated.
Carrara provided more interest than we had anticipated. The scenery in the Apuan Alps was stunning, the walking was superb, and it was interesting to
learn about the history of marble quarrying in the area. We
We loved the building, and the antiques and particularly the owner. We arrived on a Sunday, and there were very few cabs running, and so Connado picked us up at the train station. He told us so much, and had we not booked tours before we got there, he could’ve done the tours himself. He is an antique dealer, and grew up in the area. He knows everything! He absolutely made our trip to Carrara Wonderful. We were able to go on a tour of some marble quarries and that was absolutely incredible.
It was a beautiful place to stay! Margareta was a perfect host and helpful in any way including picking us up from the train and taking us back when our visit was over. We were staying here to see Cinque Terre and she was very helpful in helping us decide when it would fit into our tight schedule. Also very informative about the town of Carrara. I love learning about things in this way. Turns out, if you buy marble, it may very well have come from here.
The location was excellent. Close to the city center, it on main road for the beach resorts and other travels nearby. Safe and convenient parking within the Villa gates. Breakfast was perfect with every option for personal individual tastes. Best of all, our host was wonderful. She shared so many recommendations for day trips , restaurants and secret finds. We want to return for another carefree stay at Villa Belverde .
The B & B was fabulous! So clean & comfy. Best bed & pillows we've had this trip. Svetlana was very friendly and gave us contact information for both a Carrara Marble Quarries Tour & the local taxis. (Take the tour, it was fantastic!) We loved sitting on the rooftop terrace, relaxing and drinking wine. The town is quaint & very walkable. We'd definitely stay again!
The place was very comfortable and cozy! The host Ms. Monica was attentive and very helpful with suggestions and links to follow in order to organize our excursions in the area: 5 Terre, The beach in Marina di Carrara and places to dine! Thank you so much for your hospitality, we’ll keep your place in mind for future trips to Carrara!
This is a jewel of a place. Svetlana and Daniele were so helpful and lovely. The decor is charming, location in Carrara perfect, view from the roof- spectacular!
A pleasure to have stayed and met these lovely hosts. FYI spacious rooms, plenty of hot water in gorgeous bathroom, full size washer and dryer.
This is a lovely, spacious B&B with tall ceilings and lots of interesting original artwork. The staff and management are friendly and kind, and take great care to accommodate every need. It was my second stay, and wouldn’t think of any other place when visiting Carrara.
A unique historical villa featuring nice selection of contemporary art. The room we stayed was overlooking the beautiful garden. The host explained and gave hints how and what to see at the marble quarries of Carrara where we spend the next morning.
Liked everything about the hotel& restaurant: location, staff, cleanliness, service, the view!!! ,the food. Although you have to be a very good driver to get to the top of the hill where the hotel is located, once you get there it is all worth it.
The entire property is very clean and well-kept. It has quite a up-to-date feel to it. The views out onto the town are nice. The manager was very friendly. Carrara is an extraordinarily interesting place, and the air is very clear.
Gorgeous rooms, very tastefully and beautifully decorated. Great location!! Lovely upper terrace with a breathtaking view of the Carrara mountains! The hosts were incredible: helpful, kind, and very attentive.
The host is the best from all Carrara. Thank you for everything. Very pleased and helpful. He gives us all the information. More than enough.
Definitely, I will recommend it to my friends 👍👍👋👋👏👌
Nice hotel in the city center. Top floor terrace for breakfast, with a spectacular view over the mountains. Helpful personnel. We have received good recommendations for eating downtown.
Beautiful room! Better than most of the 5 star hotels we have stayed in. The owner is a lovely lady who is very helpful and quick to respond to any question.
