Lecce dazzles every visitor offering one of Italy’s best preserved walled historic centres. Its wonders include tasteful traditional cuisine, rich wines, and charming shops. Located near the crystalline waters of both the Adriatic and Ionian beaches, it is a perfect base to explore the Salentine Peninsula.
Its origins are unclear, but it is believed that dates back to the 12th or 11th century BC, when Italic tribes founded a settlement nearby, which Romans later occupied and relocated to its current position. The pages of its history are filled by Byzantine rulers, several invasions, a Norman rebirth, and an annexation to the Kingdom of Sicily.
Its distinctive Baroque style is combined with well-preserved Roman remnants. Don’t miss the historic centre during sunset, when the light creates a perfect contrast between the blue sky and the mild-yellow colour of the limestone buildings. St Oronzo Square houses the Roman Amphitheatre, while the outstanding Holy Cross Basilica is a must. Don’t miss the magic of staying in a hotel or B&B in Lecce’s Old Town.
The city is serviced by the local railway station, while Brindisi Airport is 45 km away. Whether you’re searching for rural accommodation in the surroundings of Lecce, a resort on the nearby beaches, or a cosy guest house in the centre, check out the deals available on Booking.com.

Lecce… and especially Dimora San Giuseppe… were a wonderful surprise!
I was originally planning to stay 4 nights here and 4 nights in Bari. First I asked if I could keep my room for 2 more nights… and the decided to skip Bari altogether and just stay in Lecce.
The quirky little restaurant right across the street, dall’antiquario, is small, inviting and serves the best local food you could find. I ate there every night of my extended stay!
If you’re coming to Puglia, stay in Lecce and enjoy the hospitality of Dimora San Giuseppe and the neighboring dall’antiquario! Unforgettable!

Lecce is charming and has many beautiful churches (most every place charges entrance). The old walled in town is compact. I found 2 coliseums. Big problem finding food. They close most everything for at least 3 hrs in the afternoon. Most restaurants don't open till 7pm. Good luck finding anything gluten free. It's a bread & pasta diet.

Beautiful town, small and easy to walk around.
Beautiful town, small and easy to walk around. Lovely restaurants & cafe’s. Al Ventuno was great for apperitifs, lunch & drinks. Very affordable. La Bocca Bistrot had a lovely dining experience - delicious food with a different approach to the Italian cuisine. Recommend. Tranquilo also a lovely restaurant & bar right at the amphitheatre. Overall a great trip to Lecce, recommend 2-3 days.

The mediaeval centre is beautiful and traffic free which adds greatly to the experience. Our booking was ideally located for relaxed wondering around bars, restaurants, roman ruins and churches.
We had a delicious celebration meal at one recommended restaurant but vegetarians need to be discerning as many places have a very meat-focussed menu.

Lecce (the old part) is a beautiful city but because of this, it is also overridden with tourists, so noisy.
The municipality is keeping it very clean nevertheless (not a small feat with some many people).
One can rent bikes to go to the beach or explore the surroundings. This is not needed for the inner city (the often washed paving stones can be slippery) as everything is close by.

Lecce is a beautiful “Baroque city” with an amazing number of churches and other interesting architecture, Roman theatre and amphitheater from the first century AD, Jewish Museum, loads of outdoor cafes, great food, and fun to wander around.
This was a true gem in Lecce. It is minutes from the Old Town. We booked parking, and it is definitely worth the extra expense. Our room was large, immaculate, and the bed was very comfortable, and even slippers were provided. Communication with the hostess and property was excellent, and any questions we had were answered immediately. The hostess and staff were charming and very helpful throughout our stay. I would definitely stay here again - highly recommended.
The location, staff, facilities, service. Francesco, our host, went so far out of his way to accommodate us and to ensure that our stay was pleasurable. I have syed in many of the world’s best hotels that boast 5 stars and above during a 30 year career that required me to travel globally over 250 days per year and can honestly say that I had never experienced such genuine hospitality and professionalism until my stay at this humble B&B in the heart of Lecce.
Amazing hotel in the centre of old town Lecce. The roof terrace with a view of the campanile was extraordinary and very special. Beautiful greenery and flowers made this hotel very special. Our rooms were wonderful and very comfortable. Staff were very helpful too. We had a large car and this managed to fit through the door gate into the parking area. Aircon worked well. Breakfast was good with fresh fruit. The children loved the pancakes especially.
Everything ….Of all the places we stayed on our trip to southern Italy , this was the best . A boutique B&B within a palazzo. Carefully renovated but with all modern essentials. Super comfortable rooms and delightful hosts . The building is right in the centre of historical Lecce , a beautiful city easily walkable to everywhere . Covered Parking recommended was less than 10 minutes walk away . We loved Dimora San Giuseppe and hope to return
We really enjoyed our stay. Check in was easy and the room was spacious and airy. The design of the hotel is a really good mix between the old exterior and the modern interior. The breakfast was buffet-style and plentiful with super friendly staff on hand to help. A very short walk from the old town, there is plenty of free street parking around, making it an ideal base to explore not only Lecce but the rest of the peninsula as well.
We loved how easily accessible, all of the historical centre of Lecce was from the hotel location. parking was easy and abundant.
The staff was friendly and helpful , all gave good recommendations. And the spa room is absolutely incredible, we have not seen a room like that before. Only wish we booked it longer. Francesco was super nice giving us the upgrade to experience it.
Francesco was wonderful. So was his staff. Please note we did not have the amazing spa experience and knew that going in. Our apartment was wonderful in its own right still, and so many amenities were accommodated for. We especially liked the several waters provided for free. Most Italy hotels/b&b’s will give one or two. Francesco and his staff go above and beyond.
Beautiful boutique hotel in a perfect location to explore Lecce. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was absolutely amazing. They have 24 hour reception which was very helpful for us. The room was spacious and clean. We had excellent drinks at the bar.Everything was perfect, and we hope to return soon!
We got a better room thanks to Booking.com and Genius status. The rooms are large and spacious but not as beautiful as in the picture. The city center is a 10 minute walk. Lecce is a beautiful baroque town with lots of small shops and restaurants. Free parking is available in front of the hotel. WiFi is good speed.
The Host and his family and staff could not have been better in any respect. From the welcome drink of Lecce Coffee and Pastry to the wonderful breakfast options. This is a special place to stay and it's onsite parking and location to the old town make it a perfect place for a two night stay in wonderful Lecce.
Ideal location for exploring central old town Lecce. Fantastic breakfast. Lovely dinner location on roof with fabulous views over city. Hotel provided shuttle to and from beach (30 min away) with free LILO’s and umbrella. A great extra.
Highly recommended. We had a wonderful stay at Pollicastro Boutique Hotel in Lecce. Everything was perfect! The staff was really friendly and the breakfast amazing. Comfy beds in a really clean and beautiful room.
Location! Walking distance 5 minutes to old town Lecce!
Free parking in front of the hotel.
Spacious, clean room with good wifi!
Breakfast was good, typical Italian breakfast, a lot of sweets as choice!
Excellent hotel in a close enough location to points of interest in Lecce for an easy walk into the medieval city.
Good gym. Excellent breakfast. Pleasant staff.
Would stay there again for sure.
Absolutely everything. Rita was super thoughtful. The room and hotel itself are very comfortable and big. Best breakfast we had in our trip to Italy (and there were a LOT of hotels)!
Great location in the old town of Lecce. Owner speaks good English and explains everything well. Parking is possible only a few minutes away. Flat is big and beds are comfortable.
