Walking distance to the colleseum. Nice bathroom. Shops near by, taxi too.
Hard to find and difficulties in checking in. Breakfast was stingy. Wifi did not reach the bedroom and generally weak.
The room was cosy and clean and the heater worked well. Staff were friendly (if not punctual) and it was in a handy location once we found it. Close to Termini Stazione and the Metro. Breakfast at the bar around the corner was simple but of good quality (coffee and croissant).
Very difficult to find initially and we had emailed ahead to advise of our arrival time but had to wait a long time as the staff member was not there (she does not stay there at all, only comes and goes to let people in, clean etc). Roman plumbing (terrible showerhead and water pressure, bit smelly in the bathroom too and only one between three rooms of people so bit of a queue in the morning.
Location Via Domenichino 7 Monti in Rome was close to Roma termini train station, colosseum. The room looked clean and neat. Saved by the bell, the staff who was almost out the door leaving for home earlier than check-in time range was at least a bit compassionate and extended his effort to verify if we were the customers he was waiting. At first, he thought he was waiting for somebody else and took time to accept us. Who will appear in the condo for rent with paperwork evidence that is not the right customer? We felt we were close to be not accepted.
As mentioned, welcoming staff was almost out the door leaving and going home by 9:30 pm, when in fact on documents and online, check-in was supposed to be 11am to 11pm. If we came just one minute later, we could have ended up homeless and cold in a foreign land!! We just disembarked from a cruise in La Spezia, an hour north of Pisa by train at 11am. That's total of 4 hours by train to Rome excluding other traveling factors and allowances. This was communicated with B&B management. And still they thought we will be checking in by 11am, and just presumed that we were not coming in anymore. No effort of checking back with us. Upon arrival at the location indicated online, another occupant answered and said she's also a customer, too. We called the telephone number, left a message, but we never got a return call or response. B&B Gallienus has poor communication skills and effort with customer. They could have contacted us by email and cellular phone. Another thing, we were brought to another building by walking, which has dead bolt locks from the inside!! If another customer locks the door from outside, and you're left without the key with you, you're trapped!! Unsafe, depending which condo or bed & breakfast building you're assigned. No 24-hour staff to assist you. We were not able to avail of free breakfast, as it's located in another building to be served only starting at 8am. We payed cash, no receipt was provided!
Everyone like it!
Not that clean. It's in the basement. So, the air is not fresh.
Comfortable apartment, max 15 min walking to Colosseo, max 15 min walking to Termini, very friendly and helpful owner! Fully recommended :)
This hotel was lovely. Close to the city centre, lovely inclusive breakfast in the morning and the hotel owner always came to check up on us and give us advice or what to see and where to go to eat. The rooms were cleaned everyday as well.
Unfortunately, the beds weren't very comfy as the slabs holding the mattress up were broken. Also as we were a young couple it was hard to sleep on two single beds that were pushed together.
Location was good, staff were very nice. Room is cosy, though badly lit.
Frosted glass door to our room meant the room was lit up every time someone used the light in the hall. Room is badly lit.
Location is excellent!
Walls are very thin and you can easily hear people in next room.
Very pleasant place, very clean, well located, excellent price and good quality. The host is very nice. I truly recommend.
We were welcomed by friendly staff who gave us tips to move around in Rome. The room & WC were cleaned everyday. The apartment ambience and deco is beautiful. Best of all, location is strategic - walking distance to Roma Termini & Colosseum.
No kitchen, no drinking water, no signage at entrance (it's a unit in an apartment block)
Cozy, good location (close to many places of interes;small, quiet street), polight staff.
very close to the coliseum.
there was no staff on site, the phone number provided no one answered. the free breakfast was no where to be found.
The location is very Good.
with no wifi
Good location,very near to center.
Good value for your money and the staff is really friendly. It is a charming place and gives you an authentic feeling.
The walls are very thin
Location perfect, Apartment very original
at arrival there was only a number to call on the bell, took them half an hour to finally get there and open the apartment after a lot of confusion on the phone because the ladys english was horrible, she wanted payment up front and as we did not have it with us we agreed to meet the next day at 17:00 for payment. We settled in and took money out the same night, left the money laying in the dining room with the booking.com confirmation so we have it ready when we meet her at 17:00 the next day. We left in the morning for some sightseeing and when we returned the money was gone. Of course we panicked and called her, her explanation was her cleaning staff took the money because he thought it belonged to her anyways...(we paid too much so she came back and refunded us the difference). We asked for no more cleaning personal to come in during our stay, but they still came. When we departed we had to leave the key in the house, once you lock the doors you cant get back in...of course we forgot something and had to call again, and again it took them a while to come over. When we arrived the next day at our next location we have realized that we forgot 2 small pillows. I asked her if she could send them to me.She told me that i should wire 30€ to her. I told her that it is not possible to wire anything right now as we were still on vacation and that those 2 small pillows only cost aprox 17€ from italy to germany(per german postal calculator) and if she could send them via postal service, but so that i can pay at the door. Could not do it cause she went on vacation herself and told me she would send them by sept 1st(a month after our stay). So she wrote me finally that she has shiped them. I was like yippie. Today the surprise...a UPS Delivery guy at the door wants 50€!!!!! from me for the package.
Great localization. 15 minutes to Colosseum on feet, 5 minutes to tube station (both lines), 30 minutes to Mediterranean. In one sentence: I highly recommend for everyone who wants to visit Rome and all of its main attractions
We had room in the basement with the smell of moisture.
the location is best. Many bar and restaurant which are opening mid night are near by the room.
It should be mentioned it's apartment. I thought it was Hotel, but it was not. There was no Hotel lobby, so I had to call them whenever I need something. and also it was not so clean room and they changed towel only when I asked by phone call.
The photos didn't do this apartment enough justice. 5 of us shared one of the apartments and we had a wonderful time staying in this place with it's very quirky decoration and old style structure. It was also quite out the way and quiet, yet a really short walk to major sites. I would highly recommend!
-location right across the street from termini station -comfortable bed -air conditioning -shower with lots of jets -Viviana was super friendly and responded to my emails
-breakfast was just a croissant & coffee from a nearby place -no staff around in person, but could call them -didn't know there were 2 locations
The apartment was beautiful and a 15 minute walk from the Colosseum. The bathroom and bedroom were cleaned everyday. We thoroughly enjoyed staying here and would definitely return.
Absolutely no wifi access although it clearly stated there was supposed to be. The owner didn't make us pay the city tax to make up for it. It was very hot in the bedroom at night (in July) so could benefit from an a/c unit.
Friendly. Clean. Cost.
We didnt realise it was not located as per map when booking was placed. You should be aware that if you are booking based on location you will stay in a different location.
Good location, right next to train station. AC worked well. Good sized room.
Make sure you check your spam email before you get there as it is confusing since it's really not a hotel. The b&b is not what we expect in NA.
It was heart of city centre.
There was no wifi although they advertised and first night they did not provide us apartment, they promised.
