In an 18th-century building, the Lombardia is a friendly little hotel in front of Santa Maria Novella Basilica in Florence. The train station is a 2-minute walk away. All rooms have private bathrooms....

I was sick in Florence and needed to stay another night before leaving -- the staff was extremely kind and let me check in early. Very comfortable, good wifi, unbeatable location.
The four flights of stairs to get there.
- Perfect location! - Most friendly manager I've ever met! - Very clean! - I felt me at home! - Wi-fi connection!
- Just some details.
Fantastic location, right in the heart of old Florence.Cleanliness. Friendly host .Light breakfast at the restaurant with fantastic "dolce"(for sitting enjoyment need to pay).
The hotel is on the 4th floor. the steps are ridiculously high! There is no one to help you with the bags. I had to go to the street and find someone to help me and had to pay extra 20eur to the person. The place is just not cozy at all. The owner was extremely rude on arrival. Just seriously look for an alternative spot to stay.
As everyone else has said, the location is perfect, right in the heart of old Florence. It's in walking distance from all the main attractions and near the train/bus station.
The host was not what I would call "hostile." He doesn't speak English very well and he tried to be funny but wasn't. We were two girls and we thought he was kinda creepy. I've read so many good reviews about him and maybe my expectations were high, but he was inpolite and most of all nowhere to be seen, except when we checked in/out. Another issue that was not raise here is the fact that you have to pay extra for: cleaning services (he doesn't have a maid of his own), a clean towels (which were not clean in the first place!) and toilet paper. The room that we were given was the worst and it definitely was not worth the money we paid. The view was awful (unless you don't mind staring at a dirty wall and smelling the trash) and we felt we were being watched since the host has a system that tells him when we leave the room so he can cut the power in our room (so forget about charging anything when you're away!) A final point is I guess the fact that you have to climb 80 steps to get to the house, which was nothing for us compared to what I wrote above. In the end of the day we were only using the room for sleep and showering, but I think I would say nicer things if it was cheaper and the host nicer.
The location was fantastic and hard to beat. Great value for money.
Location, hospitality and warmth of the owner, the tips given regarding restaurants were very good !
the fact breakfast in the 2 restaurants is a good idea but the fact that we have to pay to be seated is a little too much ! A cappuccino and a brioche could be acceptable as the location is unique but the fact that you have to stand or pay 7 euros is too much.
Clean room with everything needed
Very noisy, to be expected in this location but be prepared with earplugs
the location was so great you would forget about the stairs (yes, 80 stairs but only 60 steps to Piazza della Signoria). The owner's care about the guests and his attitude is really exceptional. If I stay in Florence next time, Olga's House will be at the top of my list.
The bathroom was very tight
Staff were incredibly rude. B&B is on the 4th floor with no lift. This was not mentioned on the booking. If you have heavy luggage, stay away from this place!
This is THE BEST LOCATION IN FLORENCE!!! A block from Piazza dei Signori and the Uffizi Galleries. Two blocks from Ponte Vecchio. Three from the Duomo. Tons of shopping; leather, glass, all the top stores. Great food, too.
Pack light, and be in good shape. 80 steps will seem like a lot at the end of a long day of sightseeing. No lift.
everything was perfect, I can recomend this B&B especially for young travellers.
Location! Couldn't get any better it's right in the middle of everything, a stroll from the major sights. Friendly owner. Clean and comfortable, though fairly basic.
The stairs! I know it's in the terms and conditions but nothing prepares you for it. We are young(ish) and fit but if you aren't... it would be a struggle, especially with luggage.
Very good location Very fast Wi-Fi
Great location, clean and friendly staff. Reasonable price
comfort, helpful owner, great location, clean rooms, fast wifi :)
Location was excellent, really close to everything
We got asked what time we would be there and we responded, however when we arrived exactly on time out room was not ready for us. Why ask if the rooms aren't going to be ready anyways?
This was a perfect location being just a few meters off piazza de la signoria in the heart of Florence. Very close to sight seeing, shopping, river etc. The room was well designed with everything one would need including a small safe, it was very clean and the facilities were everything that I needed. The room also had a really lovely style and ambience. The manager Roberto was lovely and could not have been anymore helpful. There were a good range of English books on things to do in Florence and Tuscany. He also gave some warning on pick pockets etc as a reminder. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this place to anyone staying in Florence.
It was noisy at night but this is to be expected in such a location, just use ear plugs if do not like noise or enjoy the ambience. It is part of the experience of a big city.
Once you arrive here, the owner will tell you that Breakfast is not included. To have the room cleaned, you need to pay 5euros extra. Airconditioning is working badly.
very very close to the main attraction,i would say its city center big room very easy to find and easy communication with staff
its very simple, but for the money you pay- i wouldnt expect more no elevator- lots of stairs with bags rather non-convenient (but we are in old Italy so...-be prepared) as it is center place- very noisy, traffic and so on in morning began from 6am and continue up till 12am)))
Escadas e internet com sinal intermitente.
Location is perfect - close to station and walking distance to everything. food, markets and museums on doorstep. friendly staff. the Italian breakfasts were fun to have (nearby cafe's with supplied vouchers) - simple stand up , coffee with pastry, felt like a real italian!
Unsure about how to check in - perhaps needs exact advice on whether to call or press bell. Lots of stairs (this was expected and clearly advised but don't underestimate them!). Some mosquitoes around if leave window open, I'd recommend repellant. It's not v quiet even with double glazing at night, but if you're used to town or city noises its fine.
