We had a lovely stay at Casa Saponara and were made to really feel at home by Francesco who went out of his way to be helpful. The location was good to get to Cefalu where we were able to do some sight seeing and also spend time on the lovely beach. The breakfast provided was first class and we would recommend a stay here if visiting this part of Sicily.

I guess that's how heaven should be like. We had here the best Sicily host. The view is breathtaking, both the way to Case Saponara and the view from the room aswell, the room was a mix between warmy, cosy and good taste. You really feel that they put there more than money. It is a part of there soul there. And they did it to make you feel good. In the morning Francesco prepared a very good breakfast with Sicilian specialities cooked by himself and before leaving he made as a tour of his garden. We felt that the Sicily's core is there. Thank you very much Francesco! Our only regret is that we had only one night planned to stay there.

the location, in nature, among orchards with fantastic views is unparalleled; the room was comfortable and tastefully furnished/decorated; Francesco Nurrito's breakfast was as copious as it was scrumptious, and the hospitality was warm and friendly. We spent 5 days at Case Saponara exploring the area and enjoying the landscape. We sincerely hope to return!

Case Saponara is located about 10 minutes drive from Cefalu. The view from the breakfast terrace is breathtaking and well worth the climb up the hill. There is no better way to start the day than by having breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea and Cefalu. Our host Francesco went out of his way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. He is a keen cook and breakfast was excellent from the homemade omelettes, rice balls and pizzas to the mouthwatering fruit flans and fruit salads. He even made a special cake from oranges freshly picked from the nearby orchard. Our room was clean and had all the facilities one would expect. We would be glad to revisit.

Lovely rooms in a renovated farmhouse tucked right in front of a lemon, tangerine and orange orchard. A bit off the beaten path, but close enough to Cefalu that it made a good base. Francesco and Nino took very good care of us. We were given fresh fruit, chopped up in bowls upon our arrival. I think we looked pretty hot and sweaty, so it was a very kind gesture. Breakfast was HUGE. More than enough food and everything was made from scratch except the toast and yogurt.

The location was just perfect and easy to find. Nino hat everything already prepared and we found a nice, comfortable and even luxury room. A short trip to the near Cefalu provides lots of options for sightseeing, dining and shopping. It's certainly no place to hike if you are physically disabled but you have to come by car anyways. The location is easy to find coming from SS113 driving through Sant' Ambrogio on strada Sant'Ambrosio Guarneri. Just follow the signs uphill. It's also marked on Google maps as Case Saponara B&B. Nino the owner will send you also an email after booking with additional information.

Nino, the owner, is a great host, dedicated day and night. The location is great if you don't mind to go up the steep slopes by car. Case Saponara isn't easy to find, so make sure you arrive during daylight

The view was unbelievable - to wake up and see both the sea and the mountains! Nino, the host was really friendly and arranged also a horse trekking trip for me. Breakfast was good, Nino even asked for personal wishes. The roon was really nice and cosy, decorated with a good taste. I can honestly recommend the place! With an own restaurant the place would be perfect!

The location of Case Saponara is beautiful. The accommodation was excellent and the views from the terrace were spectacular. Our host, Nino, was very attentive and knowledgeable about the area and places to visit. One of the highlights of our three week visit to mainland Italy and Sicily. I would thoroughly recommend the Case Saponara if you are on the north coast of Sicily. Andrew

Case Saponara was rustic villa with 4 rooms up in the mountains overlooking the Tyrrenean Sea. The owner, Stefano, is very accomodating, very personable and went overboard to see that we were comfortable and breakfast was whatever we wanted. It is about 4.5 km from Cefalu. The rooms were very modern and the bathroom was beautifully tiled, everything was clean and comfortable. Ask how to use the heat. I would recommend this B and B. He will send specific and great directions on how to get there. I was cold at night. I didn't know how to use the heat;

Wonderful place to stay high up on the hills outside of Ceraflu. Very peaceful and away from the tourists. We were made to feel very welcome and the owner made a big fuss of my 81 year old mum - helping her with everything. Had a great breakfast overlooking the sea. It was a shame we only spent one night there.

A beautiful old stone house set in an olive orchard high in the hills 8 kilometers from Cefalu historic town and its beautiful sandy beaches. We were met by Nino and family who made us feel very welcome and comfortable in this rural setting. Breakfast served on an open deck overlooking the valley and ocean view every morning was a high point. If you want a perfect rural setting this is it. Can't wait to go back to this beautiful location.

Our host is very pleasant and helpful, tho non-English speaking. Breakfast included fresh orange juice and was excellent. The breakfast room was a bit warm but had a nice view. We were able to park near the b&B. It is in a country setting some distance away from Cefalu. We didn't have a view (or windows actually) and the room was pretty warm. We had to drive down the hill to a village for dinner (which was quite reasonable and a very nice experience anyway).

Marvellous view !!!! Besides a very kind and sympathetic service. The place is a top one for ones who are looking for something different from the standard, big, hasty and typical hotels which are similar to each other wherever. Really difficult to find and get there... Do not even try to find it when it's dark. The hotel does not have any pool (although we have seen this in the description)

Very good breakfast, good views and very pleasant. Is difficult to find the place because the explanation on booking is not very clear. I give you more details: Is just 1km away from Cefalú to the right side of the coast. You go into "Sant Ambrogio" and when you continue the main street you will look the indication of the hotel. For more information the best is calling the hotel.

Stunning location - v steep twisty road and tight space for parking on arrival - luckily the owner kindly did this as it was v late when we arrived. In fact it was impossible to find using the website map directions at night - we were rescued at ~midnight by the owner meeting us at the Duomo in Cefalu old town..... However, it was all worthwhile to wake up next morning in the orange groves with fantastic views. A place to remember and return to - now we know where to find it. The shower was too hot/too cold.

“The Hotel La Plumeria was delightful in every way. It's location, staff, service, rooms, breakfast and decor were excellent. Our room had two bathrooms (which was a big hit with me) and views into courtyards and over rooftops from two balconies. Somehow it was quiet while being right in the middle of the liveliest (and loveliest) part of Cefalu. I recommend a hike up and around La Rocca's ramparts, a swim in the pristine water at the beach and lunch at La Botte in the Via Veterani - all of which can very easily be accomplished on foot from the hotel. In the evening, taste Sicilian wines at the groovy little enoteca just around the corner on the Via Carlo Ortolani di Bordonaro before heading out for dinner. Enjoy - we certainly did!” Suzanne, Queenscliff |
