Location Quaintness Cultural experience with the family. Plus plus knowledge gained re Frances Mayes. Roof top view down to Tuscany. The spectaculer views Wow!!!! Explored on foot and loved the old world feel. shops resturants markets entertainers churches etc.
Lack of parking near by......got a parking ticket in 20 mins. Have to park way down hill and catch escalator plus walk. Sorted this by repacking small suitcase for 2 days stay. Unfit people would struggle with staircase and steps in Cortona.
Atmosphere, service, breakfast with home-made dolce and bred, furniture, located in the center
Too many stairs inside, beds are short for tall people
Antonella and her husband were very welcoming and kind. Our room was small but cozy and all we really needed. The location is right off Via Nazionale where there are many restaurants and shops so it was very central. The street that the B&B is located on is very charming and we saw many people taking photos of it. Parking was not difficult to find though there was a bit of a walk. This was only a small challenge with luggage. The breakfast was tasty and the company nice. Antonella makes a yummy cappuccino and her daughter made a delicious typical breakfast cake that we ate every day. It was also interesting to meet the other guests at breakfast as we were all from different places. I would recommend B&B Vicolo Della Scala and return in a heartbeat!
Mattress was a little hard for my taste. But we always slept well after our long days of tourism.
My husband and I are on our way from Cortona to Sorrento and I am already missing Antonella's cakes and biscuits. I've nearly gone through my stash I took with me on the train. We stayed at this lovely B&B for 5 nights and could not recommend this gem of a place highly enough to other travellers. Antonella's breakfasts and service towards her guests is second to none. The rooms are charming, clean, comfortable and with a great bed and modern bathroom. There are spots that you can just sit and relax with a bottle of wine or 2. Also highly recommend Antonella's private cooking class. She is an amazing cook and a great teacher who talks you through it all step by step and the cost is very reasonable considering the quality of the lesson and the food you get to eat afterwards! Cortona is a lovely place with great restaurants and fab local wine. Be sure to follow Antonella and Pascuale's recommendations as they're excellent. Be sure to check out the inside of the town's theatre as it's gorgeous and we highly recommend trattoria dardenales and la buccacia as well as bar 500. And of course snoopy's gelateria! Enjoy Cortona and this lovely place.
Having to leave and say goodbye!
What can I say, theowners were lovely, the location was great despite the stairs to the hotel. Loved the room. Everything was great.
Our first time to Cortona and it was made extra special, thanks to the beautiful husband/wife hosts. Thank you so much for your kind hospitality, effort and especially ensuring we got our taxi on time ( I feel horrible I didn't know you were waiting there for our taxi!!) highly recommended location, room and breakfast! Beautiful town, too! We'll be back... Maybe we could come straight from Sorrento, with bread?' ;) thank you again xx
Hostess, location, breakfast, clean, comfortable.

No near parking; but that is Cortona!
The husband and wife team were very friendly and helpful The breakfast, especially Antonella's cakes and biscuits! The location as it was very central to everything
Could do with better parking instructions, ie: which one is nearest. We walked miles up steep hills and with our bags The steps! But that is Cortona all over and not the B+B's fault.
The B&B was centrally located on one of the prettiest walkways in town. The breakfast included pastries which were all homemade and the recommendations for dinner were great.
Antonella was so friendly & helpful. Great position in the old city with free car parking.
Perfect location: a few stairs away from the main street :-) . The design and furnishings of the house are perfect for someone who wants to feel the real Tuscan countryside. Very friendly and helpful family (this B&B is a family business). It was our favourite place to stay in all our trip (the best 3 days from our 2 weeks vacation)
The owners are sweet people who make you feel welcomed, they have excellent home made cakes and bread for breakfast, the rooms are lovely and clean, the location is perfect to explore the town.
very convenient to parking and with friendly hosts. Fresh homemade variety at breakfast. comfortable bed and pillows
threshold between room and bath is a almost dangerous during the night. we used a white towel on it to stand out.
Very friendly and helpful people run the place. It was super clean and comfortable and very enjoyable experience. Cortona is fabulous.
location is close to the entrance of the village and no cars are allowed inside so this is important for easy access.
bed was a little thin and pillows were to firm.
The location was great right next to the main square. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was great with lots of choice.
It was raining and over cast!
The very friendly and helpful owners made our short stay in Cortona a delightful experience. The house is very close to the centre of Cortona and the car park. It has a very relaxed atmosphere and the homemade cakes at breakfast were a wonderful.
Very friendly and helpful owners, perfect location right in the historic center of town. Generous breakfast.
I stayed at 6 different hotels on my holiday throughout Europe and this was definitely my favorite stay. Antonella is the owner of the B&B and one of the sweetest people I have ever met. When we arrived, I got a little lost and called her. She gave me great directions to the free parking in the lot below the outdoor escalator. There were quite a few stairs up to the main entrance of town. There are also quite a few stairs up to the B&B. Don't let that detour you though, just pack light. We stayed for only two nights, and wished it was longer. The location of the B&B is wonderful, right inside of the town, and also close enough to walk to your car. We got great restaurant recommendations by Antonella for both nights, and had some of our best meals in Cortona. She also directed us to a great wine shop where we were able to ship wine back to America. The absolute best part of the trip was the cooking lesson that we took from Antonella. It was right in the kitchen at the B&B. I would recommend this for anyone...We had a great time. She even typed all of the recipes up for us to make later! I can't wait to come back to Tuscany just to stay at this B&B!
Nothing at all!
Pasquale and Antonella are excellent hosts. Nice, clean updated place. They aim to please. Antonella offers cooking classes, which we did not take, but she makes most of the great pastries herself and serves an excellent breakfast. Great location but make sure you know how to get there. If you have luggage take a taxi (10 Euro) from the train station to Piazza Garibaldi- Antonella can arrange that for you. The B&B is less than 100 meters from there on Via Nazionale. Its up a quiet stairway off the main street. Or take the bus for 1.30 Euro per person to the main gate and hike uphill for 250 meters to Via Nazionale and go right for about 300-400 meters.
This place was simply a fantastic find, clean, newly updated and as comfortable as you need. The owners are fantastic and cook up fresh goods every morning for you. The location is just amazing, but be ready for a trek up some pretty impressive stairs to and in the location. Cortona is a must see on any trip to Italy. The trip to cook in the farmhouse with Simonetta is just a fabulous experience. This townis so quaint and easy to get to Umbria to visit other places. Encourage those to venture to the olive oil mill which was also an amazing experience.
I have nothing bad to say about this location...It was just the best.
This was a delightful experience. The owners were so friendly and the breakfast was amazing. The room was perfect and the location was as well.
The owners were most helpful and very friendly so we felt at home immediately. Food served at breakfast was excellent. Great location.
The staff was very nice, it's owned by an italian family, the location is ideal just off the main street, the breakfast was good(altough italian) still a lot of homemade cookies
The check-in time, we arrived at 14h30 but there was no one there until 15h00
