The owner, Stella, was very helpful with us, gave us suggestions, helped us when needed. The whole house was very organized and clean. The breakfast is excellent also. There is free parking just in front of the house.

The location is not the strongest point, however you can reach the center walking approximately 20 minutes, more or less, or also, if you prefer, the house provides bus tickets.

The hosts are very friendly. The room was quite large, very clean and carefully decorated. The bed was very good too.

The sound insulation between rooms could be improved (using tapestry on walls for example),

Refurbished house, Swiss-style cleanliness and very helpful owners. Free WiFi was fast and efficient. Continental breakfast was good by Italian standards. Our two rooms with shared bathroom on the lower floor were just what was required for three people on an overnight stay.

A good 30 minute brisk walk to the centre, counterbalanced by a half hourly bus service (with tickets obtainable from B&B).

Really lovely place to stay, the best breakfast I had anywhere in the alps. You may have to share your bathroom in the busy season.

The hotel is composed of two appartements, staying there gives the impression of staying at a friend's place. You get to spend some time in the living room discussing with other guests and can order piza from a nearby place the evening.

The rooms are quite compact. In most cases the bathroom is shared. The hotel location is in the suburbs of Como and the parking space in the strreet above the hotel is limited.

Very friendly service, nothing a problem.

It is a simple b&b and the host lady is also nice.

We booked a 20nm double room with private bathroom and we got a smaller double with shared bathroom. They said that they booked the bathroom only for us and noone else would be using it and they did not understand the difference between private bathroom and shared bathroom. The lady did not speak English so we had a discussion with the husband who is the owner of the b&b and he said he did not care and it was our problem. He was really rude and careless and we were shocked. He said it was not up to him what was showing available online and that everyone was satisfied so far. I guess everyone got what they booked so far but if I book a double room at higher price of course I do not want to get a small one with shared bathroom. We were also offered the single room and since the double had a mattrass that no one can sleep on we ended up sleeping in the single room where the mattrass did not fit the bed frame but at least we could sleep on it. Otherwise the rooms looking over the main road are quite noisy and the switch is outside of the rooms and the water does not drain properly in the tub. We did not have breakfast either (included in the rate) but left the b&b as early as we could. Worst experience ever.

The hosts are very friendly and helpful. The house and rooms are just beautiful, we had a big room and bathroom, very clean and well designed. The room is air conditioned, so the road outside doesn't bother you. There's enough free parking and good Wifi. Breakfast was good. The city center was a few minutes drive away. Recommended!

Stella, was amazing. Very friendly and helpful. AC was great. The shared bathroom was fine. The breakfast was very nice, the cappuccino was a great bonus. The bus service was good and the stops were near by.

The pool was very small, but great for kids and to have a cool off. Lots of mosquitoes in the garden, which is understandable for August, Stella did have spray available for free!

Hotel manager Stella was so kind to guests. The place was so cosy.

At the shared bathroom there was no hook to hang towels or staff. The breakfast was poor. In a b&b place there must be a kind of local meal, such as cheese, milk, egg :(

B&B Casa Cantoniera was great place to choose for stay in Como. Fantastic and friendly owners, very clean house, were you feel like at home, great breakfasts and surroundings. Everything is made for nice holidays to be more awesome. I liked it very much and if will have opportunity will definitely come back!

It is a really nice and cosy place where to stay, with excellent landlords.

The B&B is in a great house with a swimming pool. The owner and his wife are very nice and helpful. The breakfast was good. The only negative point is the location is quite a distance from the city to walk. But there are good restaurants in the area. Try the brewery.

Friendly owners and good location. As a minus - the road under the window (i'm lived in a corner room) and a railway near.

This was a great place to stay with our 20 month old, large room and the lounge for us to enjoy after we put him to bed. Decor was lovely, certainly a far cry from the roadman's quarters it used to be. Bathroom was huge and gorgeous. Lovely garden too. Location was handy for walking into downtown area. Hostess was friendly and made lots of effort to cope with our lack of Italian.

Main downside was traffic noise - it is next to a main road. It didn't bother us too much though.

B&B Cantoniera was a great place to stay considering most places on the lake are gigantic and expensive villas. You got to enjoy the amenities of the lake's beautiful scenery in a comfortable and newly renovated home-like environment only 1km from the lake, you could definitely walk down the hill to it. Breakfast was great. My mother and I stopped in Como on our return journey from Venice to Germany, and Casa Cantoniera was a great place, I would stay there again.

One caution, it could be hard for some people to carry their luggage down the steps to the house, but I am sure they would help you do this, they are very accommodating.
