Reaching the hostel on your own is a challenge. There is a bus stop close to the hostel, but the Bergamo's bus service is a mess - at least if you are a tourist not familiar with Bergamo's transport service (there is one bus line no.1, but there are different routes (1, 1A, 1B, 1C) and it takes some time to figure out which bus to take and from which bus stop! So just to give you some clues: to get to Grassobio where the hostel is located you need to take 1C service and it departs from a very small and almost unnoticeable bus stop which is on the BACK of Orio Center (shopping mall) - I reccomend to check it in google maps if you dare to travel on your own :) I asked a lady at tourist office at the airport which bus stop does the bus to Grassobio depart from, but she just looked at me with doubt and answered with resignation in her voice that she is sure I won't find this bus stop on my own (well, I did, thanks to the research I made before arriving to Bergamo). The journey takes about 10 minutes and as I mentioned, you arrive just a few steps from the hostel. Anyway remember that you can always use the shuttle service offered by the owner of the hostel (5-minute trip by car, 5EUR one way).
I had my second flight on the next day so I was looking for something simple in reasonable price. This hotel was great. The owner is amazingly helpful and nice person. He offers shuttle service between the airport and the hostel (which is at Grassobio) for reasonable price (5EUR one-way). The room was spacious and tidy, towel was provided, the surrounding were very quiet. The owner offers breakfast which is delicious - in my case it was included in the room price. It cosnsists of cornflakes, tea/coffee, yogurt, toasts and a choice of crossaints - great idea to start your day. It is possible to have the breakfast any time you want - that's extreamly useful if you have an early flight and don't want to start your trip hungry :)
If you buy a 24-hour ticket for Bergamo's busses (5EUR) you can use it to travel as well to the city center as to get to/from the hostel.
