Outstanding breakfast with a lot if home made and organic products. The girl how runs the BB even baked 3 types of gluten free bread/cakes. Location perfect; easy to reach by car, only 5 min to old town.

A little beat far from train station, but it's not a real problem as they offer a free transfer.

The owner was very helpful and friendly and spoke excellent English. Made reservations for us at recommended local restaurants. The hotel is conveniently situated a short walk from two of the gates into Lucca. It has limited private secure parking. It has wi-fi although the signal was a bit weak in places.

The property is a calm, private oasis outside the walls of the old city with a small manicured lawn, thoughtful plantings and two olive trees facing the breakfast room. There was an outdoor sitting area that we did not use due to the cooler October weather. Our room was bright, spacious and spotless. The proprietor, Giulia, coiuld not have been more welcoming or helpful. She was familiar with restaurants, shops and sites of interest inside the city walls - a five minute walk across the street - as well as those in the neighborhoods outside. We had interesting conservations with her about travel, customs, politics, university life, agriculture and cooking (her English is pitch perfect). The breakfasts were generous and always included delicious homemade cakes and jams. We would recommend Il Giardino without reservation!

The welcome we received from the owner upon arriving was very warm and she was able to provide us with local information and made us feel immediately comfortable. The location - just outside the city walls and a 10 minute walk from the train station - was ideal for a city break without a car and the house itself was lovely. Breakfast was the highlight of our short stay - a selection of pastries, cakes, homemade jams and cookies, seasonal fruit, meats and cheese, and a variety of breads, all served at a communal table with a view onto the garden, made us want to delay the start of our sight-seeing trip to Lucca.

Lovely bright, cheerful rooms, fabulous breakfast, very close to entrance gate to the city, beautiful garden. Our hostess was charming and so helpful with restaurant recommendations. She was very kind to take us to the train station when we were leaving. Having wifi available was wonderful.

The friendliness of the welcome of Guilia set the tone for this great place. Her fluent English was a bonus but her baking was even better! Secure off-road parking was very useful but the fact that the place is only a few hundred metres from the city walls means accessibilty was excellent. Our room was stylish and extremely comfortable. Listen to her restaurant recommendations.

There was a lack of surfaces in the room with only two tiny bedside tables. The wet-room approach may have been very stylish but it suffered from details like the small basin with glass shelf above being too narrow to use easily.

The B&B is set in a lovely villa just outside the city walls, is immaculately presented and has a beautiful garden. The rooms are very light and airy, the beds extremely comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection. The owner was extremely helpful and accommodating and speaks perfect English. A lovely place to return to after a busy days' sightseeing.

Location excellent, easy walking to walled city. Proprietor helpful and friendly and makes great cakes.

Julia was an extremely friendly & helpful host. She took great pride in attending to all our needs. The breakfast was superb.

Excellent location, -m 5 mins walk to Lucca walls. and very accomadating staff.They sorted out a few probs we had about booking tickets for Florence Uffezi.Also the breakfast wew amazing... better than the 5 satr we've stayed in before... hopefully, at some point in the future we'll vbe back

Very good location: just outside the walls of the city and within walking distance of the station. Comfortable and beautifully decorated. Excellent quality breakfast: copious, wide selection to choose from, home cooking. Warm welcome from the friendly, helpful, English-speaking owner. This is an address to which I hope to return in the future.

Fabulous location just 5 min walk from the city wall. Excellent breakfast every day in a beautiful garden setting. Julia spoke such good english and was exceptionally accommodating, respnded immediately to emails, answered all questions, searched out things for us on the Internet, made phone calls to business establishments, suggested great restaurants and outings and was just a nice, pleasant person to meet. The whole estabishment was newly renovated. We loved our room with its functional air conditioning. Would return to this establishment in a heartbeat.

Beautiful house just outside Lucca town walls - about 500 metre walk. Very helpful and charming host who made us feel very welcome from the outset. Rooms clean and spacious with new quiet ultra efficient air conditioning (which is a must in the Summer months). Breakfast served outside in the garden every morning included home made cakes!!!!!

This was an excellent b&b: very good value for the money; clean, well- furnished room; attractive premises, with pleasant back garden; good local advice from staff with excellent English. A real find!

The reception by the hostess/manager was very friendly and she was most helpful when we needed to reprint our boarding passes. The breakfast was excellent with superlative homemade cakes and cookies and also first class ham and prosciutto for those without a sweet tooth. The tables in the well kept garden also made breakfast very enjoyable. The free parking at the hotel is a boon in a busy town and the town centre is within easy walking distance. The bed lights were excellent. The free internet worked very well.

Our room was at the front and traffic was rather noisy from 6 A.M. on. A small table or desk would have been welcome (but ample window sills partly made up for the lack of a table).

Great location about two blocks outside of Lucca walls. Beautiful home and garden. Wonderful hostess who spoke near perfect English and prepared great pastries etc for breakfast.

Would like to have two chairs in room but room was a little small to accommodate that.

The b & b is perfectly located close to one of the gates into Lucca. It is in a quiet street and has enclosed parking. The owner is a delight. She happily assisted with a language problem I experienced in relation to my hire car, gave excellent advice about Lucca and ensured I was happy with the accommodation. Breakfast was very good, with fresh fruit and a range of options. The room was large, light and clean. I was made to feel very welcome.
