Amazing apartment with great hospitality and stunning view
From the moment of my arrival in Orvieto Sabrina, the owner, made me feel right at home. She gave me clear directions to her place, settled me in to a beautiful room with a view that almost kept me sitting at the window all day. The breakfast in the morning was unrivaled! Really - I ended up skipping lunch both days I was so stuffed full of her home baked bread, scrambled eggs, cheese pastry, jams, bruchetta, coffee, sweets... Amazing! She and her husband were also kind enough to take me to the train station when I was concerned about missing my train to Rome. It was a wonderful stay and I would love to come back!
Everything was great. This is the cutest B&B we have stayed in during our Italy trip, and the photos on the website don't do justice for the views of Orvieto. Everything is clean, comfy and feels like living in your own home. They offer a really good breakfast too.
You can hear footsteps from the top of the floor, but that is to be expected from heritage places.
The location and view were great. The room was large and confortable
For technical reasons we could not receive breakfast in the room and were sent to a nearby bar. The breakfast there was very minimal and basic.
We had a great stay here. Very nice, comfortable, and clean room with an amazing view! The owner was also very nice, as was the breakfast.
Once Sabrina had rescued us from being lost and taken us to the parking, everything was excelent. Beautiful views from a comfortable room, delightful local restaurant and breakfast next day. Wished we could have stayed longer.
Finding it and parking arrangements but this is typical of a medieval town.
Sabrina was very friendly and helpful, great breakfast, very nice room, convenient location. Would definitely stay here again?
Nite: you cannot drive to this hotel, you have to park in the main parking garage. A parking space is provided, so this isn't really a negative, you just need to know in advance.
Our room - with the adjoining private bathroom and kitchenette - was just exquisitely decorated. This was just what I had hoped for when I read the reviews for this B&B, and yet, it was well above and beyond what I had dared expecting. This is the nicest B&B I've ever stayed in, in Europe. In addition to the room and location itself, I recommend this B&B for it's availability of parking, which is often a challenge and costly in old, Italian towns. If you make the prior arrangements with the B&B owner per the ad, she'll arrange parking in a parking garage outside the town wall, but with an elevator all the way up to the street that the B&B is on. Very convenient!
The only slight drawback, we had a challenging time finding the B&B and our gps had a challenging time, too. Two nice, very helpful police officers saved the day... If you make parking reservations with the B&B owner, I'd try to make arrangements with her in advance to meet you at the parking garage or somewhere else easy to locate.
Sabrina. And her breakfasts. She was exceedingly kind and a gracious hostess. She went out of her way to make our stay very pleasant.
Sabrina was so hospitable. The breakfast was great. We stayed in their recently renovated apartment which was so much bigger than anticipated and the views over the valley were stunning. Orvieto is such a lovely place and this is a great place to stay. Grazie Sabrina!
We had a newly remodeled room, more like a small apartment, on the first floor with a view of the countryside. As usual we were lost with our car in the old town- but we called the owner, Sabrina, and she came quickly to meet us and we followed her back. Everything here is very nice, The facilities, the owner who speaks English and the old town itself.
Our apartment 'the white house' was superb, with the best views ever, the decor and attention to detail - very clean, italian style coffee, fresh flowere, big comfy bed (best in Italy so far) gas cook top and fridge which in our opinion categorises this as an apartment with all the charm of a B and B. Sabrina's warm welcome, local tourist information, home made breakfast were exceptional and to top it all off her beautiful husband Fredrico drove us to the train- overall a fabulous stay, highly recommend, 15 out of 10!!! The owner was wonderfully friendly, and helpful and speaks english. Breakfast was delicious with homemade food. The location was great in the older part of the city., beautiful view from our room. Getting there by car was easy if you followed map, the directions make it sound little harder to find then it is. Google map directions... got us lost, but by using map and their directions there with no difficulty. The owner then personally brought us to the parking lot and then brought us back to the room. If you take the train & funicular, there is a free bus from the funicular in town to the cathedral, then a fairly easy walk to the B&B. Definitely stay here!
We did not have anything we didn't like.
Adorable apartment. Worked out perfectly since we had 2 rooms and the living room with kitchen between. Breakfast was great. Sabrina was super nice and helped us with our luggage to and from the parking garage.
Ripa Medici was an incredibly lucky find and I highly recommend it. The hostess, Sabina, is absolutely wonderful. I am a 62 year old woman, traveling on my own (with, unfortunately, little knowledge of Italian), and Sabina could not have been more welcoming. The B and B is impeccably clean, and the rooms are beautifully beautifully but with all of the comforts of home, including Wi-Fi, flat screen TV, and a bed so comfortable that I slept much longer than I intended. What's different are the gorgeous views: simply open the shutters, unlock the windows, and the most beautiful view opens up before you of the Orvieto countryside! Sabina's family has lived in Orvieto for generations, and in my judgment they settled in one of the most beautiful spots of all in this exquisitely lovely medieval city, just overlooking one section of the walkway and the wall that fortified the city from attack in days gone by, with the countryside spread out before you in the foreground and background. You won't soon forget it! Sabina went "above and beyond" to help me in a couple of ways. While visiting I had a sudden urge to have my hair cut and colored rather than waiting until my return home, and Sabina called the salon, wrote out a note for me to give to the hairdresser, and made sure that she selected a good but reasonably priced salon--the very one that she uses.(She even checked later to make sure that I got a good deal.) For breakfast, she made the most delicious and delicate apple pastry I've ever had, eggs, and cappuccino, not to mention all the other goodies (pastries, homemade bread, jams, etc.) she laid out on the table. Finally, I stayed most of the following day, and Sabina volunteered to drive me to the train station--certainly above and beyond what anyone could expect---but done generously and with absolutely no expectation of repayment. By the time I left I felt that I had made a new friend.
Everything was perfect!
Sabrina was incredible, so helpful and warm and inviting. The room was immaculate. The location and view was breath taking.
Sabrina and her family is wonderful. Made us feel like part of the family. Great location, even better experience. And what a view!
We had a wonderful visit to Orvieto. Beautiful romantic Italian village, loved staying in Sabrina's bed and breakfast. The room was very comfortable Clean and the breakfast in the morning was very good. We enjoyed visiting with Sabrina and another couple. She recommended restaurants and made us feel right at home. Only drawback was the day was foggy so we were not able to enjoy our view. We will have to come back!
The location was excellent-close to everything, while quiet and with wonderful views. The room was delightfully decorated with and very comfortable. Sabrina, the owner, was very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious. I can thoroughly recommend this B & B.
the lovely host and her beautifull kids! their hospitality and warmth. The location is the BEST and restaurant recommondations was superb. Ps.( Civita was out of this world, like from a fairytale) Thank you Sabrina!
