With free Wi-Fi, Hotel Casa Domitillia is 215 yards from the Catacombs of Domitilla and has good bus services into the center of Rome. There is a church on site.
Score from 1324 reviews Very good
Hotel San Valentino is a 2-minute walk from Lepanto Metro Station, on the same line of the Spanish Steps and Roma Termini Train Station.

Guest House Urbana is centrally located in Rome, in the elegant Monti district. It features rooms with free WiFi and the Coliseum is just a 15-minute walk away.
Score from 65 reviews Wonderful
You hear if someone comes and goes in the next rooms, because the walls are a little thin, but the rest of the guest very fairly quiet so it's not a real problem.
The location is 15 min close to Colosseum. The room was very clean and nice, also the owner is very friendly and helpful. It's a very nice neighbourhood with plenty of supermarkets and food places at very acceptable prices. Recommended if you want to see Rome on foot, but the subway is very close as well.
We liked everything here! The location is very good! The place is clean & warm. Very nice rooms. Very polite and nice people :) We recommend it!
- good working wifi - nice and helpful owner - delicious breakfast - clean room and bathroom - it was hairdryer - near metro station - quiet room and area - free to use coffee machine(hot lemon tea, coffee, cappuccino, latte macchiato)
the owner's English...
They can be more generous in the breakfast, really, there was one day when the breakfast was two sandwiches with one slide of salami in each and two croissants, and it was suppose to be for two people. Moreover, the heater of the room wasn't working.
The location is very good, but is not as good as I was expecting. The staff is very freindly and helpful.
We were very satisfied with this hotel, the owner was very helpful and kind, even when we asked him if it is possible to get the breakfest earlier last day, it was prepared for us about 7am. The location of the hotel was near to the city centre, the metro station was only 5 minutes (San Giovanni). We had also breakfest included in the price, it was quite good, croisants, toasts with ham, yoghurts, coffe, tea, juice, cereals. The room was very nice and they cleaned them everyday, also new towels. The bathroom was smaller, but for us it was enough. The Wi-fi connection was very good also in the room. We can just highly recommend this hotel for everyone, who is going to spend a holiday in Rome. (Adrian & Linda from Slovakia)
breakfast nice staff location
the owner pops into my room to wake me up without knocking my door...
Nice owner, good location. Clean room and comfortable bed. Good breakfast
In the bathroom there wasn't a plug to the bath and the window can not be closed. The tap was dripping (it wasnt problem for us). The wifi sometimes gone, dissconnected.
It was perfect for us. The room was clean and the staff was nice and helpfull. I need to tell we needed the room only for sleep, we dont need anything special. If u want a room for this it is good and cheap (for us it was the cheapest). The breakfast was delicious but it was strange that sometimes it was different portion(2-4 croissant and 2 toast sandwich for 2 people).
The wifi was really bad (always failing and it was hard to even open a single webpage). There was no milk on the machine. By the end of the week I was tired of eating pastries for breakfast
Both the owners were super nice and friendly. The location is near enough of the centre (I advise you take the bus/metro though). They have a free to use machine for breakfast (coffee, cappuccino, tea, ...)
The room was just adequate-nothing like in the pictures. Its a good backpacker place. Bathroom was clean but no toiletries. The Owner - Initially very helpful...and told us how to get around town. Told us he lived just down the lane and was available to us 24x7. But all this changed when I called him after a long day of walking around Rome. When we got back it had rained and was humid and quite hot. When I tried to find the remote of the A/C system it was not available so I had to call the owner (Salvador). He was outright racist - he asked me which country I was from and then when I told him I was Indian he waited expectantly as if questioning how I can say its hot. Then he said he would be there after 20 minutes. When he came he started ranting about how the air conditioning was not included in the room (but it was in fact included - which I showed him!) and how I had disturbed him at night (it was 9 pm). Then he showed me how to "open the windows" when I feel hot. Finally when I insisted he produced the remote of the A/C - which was out of batteries (which he took from the TV remote of the adjacent room)... From this point on he was clearly cold towards us.. but he made it clear that he wanted "good reviews" on booking.com and that he was giving us the remote solely for that reason. Personally, I will never go back and will think twice before I book another B&B again.
- poorly positioned wifi - sometimes very weak signal - breakfast could be more creative (every day the same)
- excellent position in relation to the city center and public transport - clean rooms - helpful staff - close to restaurants and groceries - air-condition in rooms
It is simple living in the flat - like in a block of flats. But it is cosey, cheap and very close to train station (15 min of walk) and to Koloseum (cca. 25 min of walk). These were the main advetanages. Kr.
The owner was very helpful when we checked in telling us how best to get places etc. The location was perfect as we were a 20minute walk from the colessium.
Mold in the shower
Simple accommodation at a reasonable price, for undemanding clients, helpful and flexible owner, good location near the center and metro
A bit cramped and breakfast was very simple and meagre (typical continental European). The colour/color scheme was a bit too bold for my taste and probably isn't for everyone.
The proprietor, Salvadore, was very friendly, trustworthy and helpful. He was also within reach by cell/mobile 24/7. Air conditioning good. Safe. Relatively quiet (for Rome anyway). Inexpensive. Good for the budget traveller. Fresh towels and beds made daily. Great restaurant - Shooters - near by.
Clean rooms,Very interested staff, closed to metro,Good price...
The assistance, the room, the bathroom, the breakfast.
Great location, near to a metro station and just a 15 minutes walk to the Colosseum. Salvatore is really nice, cares a lot about his guests. Room was spacious. Overall I am very satisfied with this hotel.
Breakfast was disappointing
Less than 5 mins walk from metro station (San giovani) which is less than 20 mins from all tourist attractions. Rooms clean upon arrival and cleaned daily. Colisseum is a 15 min walk away.
Heavy traffic at night (sounds of emergency vehicles and such).
Helpful staff, fridge in the room, cool at night.
Great place in a good location. Kindly and helpful staff. Clean room with big beds:-) We highly recommend! Grazie Salvatore:-)
very poor. if i will go to Roma again, I will not choose this hotel!
We come from shanghai. The owner is a good man. We have a good time in this hotel.
Breakfast you have tot use in the room and poor breakfast, not like it is showed at the pictures...no fruit or yoghurt. Very small room an very narrow bathroom. Host was friendly but asked tot pay cash for an unknown reason... Eventually we could pay with our visa.
Close tot Subway is OK, quiet street. Friendly host andere cleaning lady.
