There were no negative experiences with Barone B & B.
Barone B & B is supremely located on a hill overlooking the Mar Tirreno on the north end of Salerno. And while it is not centrally located, it is within walking distance to the "old" town, which has a lot of wonderful restaurants, bars and shops. There are several bus stops nearby, so it is easy to get to the other end of town without requiring a taxi. Some days we walked to the south side. It took about a half an hour, but walking along the promenade (Lungomare) was lovely.
Vincenzo, the host, is very nice and accommodating. For breakfast he serves up a fabulous cappuccino and the absolute best croissants--filled with cream and blueberries, cherries, etc. It is evident that he truly loves being host at this B & B.
The rooms are spacious, airy, bright and clean. Our room had a gorgeous view of the active port and coastline. You will hear some noise from the port--cranes unloading freight and trucks hauling it away, but if you close the window and turn on the air conditioner, there's no problem sleeping.
