Nothing whatsoever!! The conscierge was so arrogant when we asked for direction( the tallest man there),the check out officer was not friendly either, and buffet breakfast sooo poor in variety. The waitresses and the chef were also arrogant! We just can not believe how such a magnificent hotel do not know how to train their staff to be courteus and friendly !! We will definitely bypass this hotel next time we visit Venice !! Such a shame for a great hotel.

The best part of our stay was the breakfast on the veranda overlooking the Grand Canal. The staff there were very nice, particularly Roberta. Sadly, the second best part of our stay was leaving the hotel as it was otherwise a very unpleasant experience for us. The staff was very snobbish and aloof, with the leading example being the resident manager, Jonathan. Dismissive, unhelpful and condescending. For the amount of money we were charged-over $1000 per night, this was a two star hotel experience. Not even in the same planetary system with other 5 star resorts we've enjoyed.

Location Extra-charges for Internet and everything for breakfast, which hasn't been put on the buffet, e.g. You have to pay for fried eggs even. Only one person did the service on the roof, so clearance of our table was always done with big delay. A room for 550 Euro per night without a real window. Opposite house-wall only 2m away. The long corridors have the atmosphere of a hospital. Dark. No decoration. We couldn't close our old door by key. Hotel was informed that we were on honeymoon. No preparation at all. Restaurant even for Venice extremely expensive. There is no reason at all to book Palazzo, as in the same building complex is The Bauers located. 50 percent cheaper. Both hotels even share the same staircase.

Our 3-night stay at the Bauer Il Pallazo was almost excellent. First of all, the location is perfect, right in front of the Grand Canal, and at a 5-minute walk to San Marco Square, this is the perfect location to explore Venice, mainly if it is a first time. The room, a deluxe suite, was very nice with as "époque" decoration, spacious and confortable, although a little bit oldie. The breakfast, on the roof terrace (this is the tallest building in Venice), was excellent. The service was average (for a plus 500 euro/night hotel) . The overall experience of staying at a Palace in central Venice was fully achieved, but there is room for improvements The restaurant (De Pisis) was a disappointment. No TV on the bedroom, just on the living room of the suite

Perfect service, very friendly staff. All arrangements made by email where dealt with discretely and efficiently. It lived up to it's reputation. The birthday cake I ordered in advance was delicious. Breakfast on the top floor was a delightful way to start the day, as was the view of the bascillica opposite. Complimentary prosecco in the evening lounge was a welcome touch. Would definately stay again.

The Bauer is a luxury hotel with elegance, history and an appropriate sense of place in Venice. We've often stayed in the Danieli in Venice which is also beautiful, however the staff at the Bauer are friendlier and the hotel is more user friendly.

The hotel is very convenient for St Marks Square, but the Buaer was even more convenient. At a cost of £540 per room it would have been nice to see the canal instead of a dark blank wall. I suppose drinks were on a par with other hotels, but a simple one course lunch with drinks was approx £200 which was excessive for what we had. The reception staff were excellent and very helpful, but I'm not sure that the cost was worth it.

This is a fantastic hotel. The staff is very accommodating, helpful and dedicated to providing the first class service one expects at a true five star facility. I would put this Hotel's location, ambiance, and service in the world class category. I would definitely like to stay in the Hotel again if we ever get to Venice again..! Lobby is understated compared to rest of the Hotel.

We, 4-persons group, kept 1 Deluxe Suite and 1 Deluxe Double Room of this hotel for 2 nights including the high-quarity breakfast for every mornings this August. I'm very glad to make reservation of such fabulous rooms through booking.com, because everything was fantastic experience in this gourgeous, historical hotel. All staffs were very friendly, and did good jobs about arranging and making reconfirmation. The drainage of the bath tab was not so good.

Everything was perfect. We ate at the excellent restaurant on the Grand Canal but the best thing was the breakfast on the terrace on top of the palace: the view was really breathtaking.

Truly luxury old/new fashion hotel , profational staffs , comfort room with a good view off grand canal . Didn't got the view I expected (as I asked for), maybe because I booked at the last minute? ...Considering 5 stars hotel keeping special rooms for special cases...

This is a fantastic, palace residence from the 18th century. The service is definitely 5 Star, the staff could not have been more helpful, courteous or attentive. The room was definitely a palace, large, junior suite with a high ceiling, fresco on the sealing, silk wall coverings, ornate furnishings, large sitting area foyer and large marble bathroom. The property is on the water at the start of the Venetian Grand Cannel!! We would stay again. Just like the city, the cost was significant.
