Bauer Il Palazzo  

The best part of our stay was the breakfast on the veranda overlooking the Grand Canal. The staff there were very nice, particularly Roberta. Sadly, the second best part of our stay was leaving the hotel as it was otherwise a very unpleasant experience for us.

The staff was very snobbish and aloof, with the leading example being the resident manager, Jonathan. Dismissive, unhelpful and condescending. For the amount of money we were charged-over $1000 per night, this was a two star hotel experience. Not even in the same planetary system with other 5 star resorts we've enjoyed.

This hotel is wonderful. The location is a 1 minute walk from St. Mark's Square and backs onto the Grand Canal. Our room was beautifully decorated and furnished, The marble bathroom large and luxurious with jacuzzi bath and shower. The view from the terrace restuarant and the rooftop breakfast room is spectacular. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful.

The quality of the breakfast in what is a luxury hotel left a little to be desired. It was a hot and cold buffet style which was very fresh and well cooked however for 50 euro's it is not unreasonable to expect to be able to choose from a selection of freshly prepared dishes with waiter service. Having said that, the view from the rooftop restaurant overlooking Santa Maria della Salute does make up for the lack of quality.

Everything!!!! Total luxury! Small room but that is venice!

Il Palazzo is a separate wing of the Bauer with a private lobby (on the Grand Canal). Breakfast is served on the terrace (7th floor) with a great view of Venice and the Grand Canal. We stayed at a suite with a living room and a bedroom, everything was very comfortable and finely decorated, the bathroom huge all in marble. The staff is outstanding, they are ready to help you and to do whatever you ask them. The location is great, 3 minutes walk from San Marco and 2 min walk from the vaporetto.

Ordinary taste and quality of dinners for the money they asked

The Bauer is a luxury hotel with elegance, history and an appropriate sense of place in Venice. We've often stayed in the Danieli in Venice which is also beautiful, however the staff at the Bauer are friendlier and the hotel is more user friendly.

Beautiful 5 star hotel. Breakfast on top floor was an awesome way to start any day in Venice.

It's expensive.

Perfect Location.

We love the location, it is near to everything and every where. The rooms are more than perfect. The hotel staff so helpful for everything. When ever I go to Venice We will stay there...

We, 4-persons group, kept 1 Deluxe Suite and 1 Deluxe Double Room of this hotel for 2 nights including the high-quarity breakfast for every mornings this August. I'm very glad to make reservation of such fabulous rooms through booking.com, because everything was fantastic experience in this gourgeous, historical hotel. All staffs were very friendly, and did good jobs about arranging and making reconfirmation.

The drainage of the bath tab was not so good.

Everything was perfect. We ate at the excellent restaurant on the Grand Canal but the best thing was the breakfast on the terrace on top of the palace: the view was really breathtaking.
