The bed was very comfortable. Slept very well. The room was large and bathroom very modern The breakfast was excellent. Ate on the terrace with a beautiful view of the canal
this is a 5 stars hotel and of course you can expect to pay more. However food is very expensive in the restaurant. For example 9 euros for a very good cappucino (almost $15 canadian) is too expensive in our opinion. The room in our opinion was good value for money but not the restaurant
Position of hotel - upgrade to fantastic room with terrace overlooking gondola station Staff excellent. Breakfast watching canal traffic with ample choice. Should have had anniversary meal in Bauer rather than Cipriani
Price of drink
location, atmosphere, breakfast.
was told I could get an early check-in, between 1:30 - 2:00, was not able to check in until 3:00. The room was great but had to climb the stairs to get to it.- minor.
location is excellent , the terrace for breakfast is very nice .
very small room for almost 500 € for one night . very arrogant and least helpfull reception staff . This can not be accepted in a so called 5 star hotel . will definetly not be my choice next time for Venice.
The Bauer was very easy to find and very central located. Great to sit outside and overlook the main waterway with lovely buildings on the opposite side of the waterway. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had an amazing time enjoying Venice.
The only thing which I found disappointing was the fact that as a 5 star hotel we only received drinking water on the first night.
Excellent location, terrific staff, great meals, great spacious room liked shuttle to other hotel owned by Bauer. Wonderful breakfast
Nothing negative stands out
Fantastic position and a typical old fashioned 5 star. Good sized room.
Bath step in shower. Very expensive drinks and restaurant.
Extremely well positioned, extremely efficient and helpful staff.
Bar and restaurant prices are excessive, which probably explains out of season quietness in these areas.
Excellent location, beautiful interior, very tasty buffet breakfast which is served overlooking the canal. Staff very attentive and efficient.
Nothing! We did not have a canal view (our room overlooked tiled roofs) but we did not expect a room with a view, as this had been made clear beforehand. Be prepared, there are no coffee or tea making facilities in the room, although drinks can be requested at a charge
Great location, friendly staff, beautiful decor.
Very expensive for coffee and snacks
In general a very good hotel experience: location, staff, breakfast, restaurant, spacious and silent room (we had a suite). Our anniversary was noticed in a very elegant way by the staff.
To charge for WiFi not OK for a hotel with ambitions as Bauers. No view at all from our suit.
Spacious room and bathroom Extremely helpful and attentive staff Location in San Marco, in the center of beautiful sites, but quiet and private Very good breakfast
Dim lighting in the room Charge for wifi in this expensive hotel
Inclusion of breakfast, location, elegance
Paying for WiFi
Loved the location and the restaurant Fantastic consierge service Didn't have to pay for wifi So accomodating and lovely The 1940s staircase is to die for!! Gorgeous and not to be missed.
Very loud air conditioning, needed to wear earplugs during the night
Location, the breakfast and excellent customer service
Location is wonderful. Facility is top notch. Sights are all within short walk. I would stay there again.
Nothing. All was better than expected.
Attentive Staff Beautiful Setting Great Food
Drink Prices were too high
The position was very good and the staff way above average. Our suite was first class and from checking in to checking out staff very good. The breakfasts on the terrace was great and views could not have been better. breakfast and bar service was good.
Did not like having inward views from our bedroom, dressing area and lounge. All three areas very dark .Also coffee at breakfast was always coldish and had to ask for fresh pot of hot coffee each morning.
Fantastic hotel with lovely city views from the balcony where we spent hours sipping a drink. Breakfast on the terrace was an experience not to be missed. The view of the grand canal was breathtaking. Staff was very polite, attentive and helpful. The lovely Franchesca ar reception greeted us every morning by name and was really very nice as was Carlo at the concierge who was very helpful with maps, directions and recommendations. Weather was brilliant and St Marks square was just a few hundred yards away where we could sit and listen to the orchestra, as well as a plethora of shops and and restaurants serving authentic Italian food. The only drawback was was that although the room was huge and tastelefully furnished with a beautiful bathroom, the bath was very slippery, not very pleasant for two not very young persons. But all in all it was a beautiful experience and we'll certainly be back. Well done Bauer!
Location and breakfast on the terrace.
Cost of room service was exorbitant. Aus$92 for 2 club sandwiches in our room!
Location near St Marks Square
Vastly over priced Very small rooms & suites Breakfast very mediocre Food & Service vastly overrated Staff not interested in rectifying clients complaints Much better hotels at much better prices available in VENICE
MARCO AND CARLO THE CONCIERGES WERE GREAT SERGIO IN THE DINING ROOM ALSO TERIFIC
Friendly and professional staff Spotlessly clean A fabulous Housekeeping team Beautiful food Great Breakfast The best location in Venice Just a beautiful hotel.
There wasn't anything wrong to note! Perfect.
How expensive the drinks etc are. €20 for a vodka tonic!
Great central location which was easy to find, the wonderful view from your breakfast table. Even the hotel put some falt "extras" from mini bar in our bill, they removed it without much fuss when we said we did not have them.
The room was a bit too small, drinks in the bar a bit expensive.
