Excellent location for food, shopping and sightseeing. Old fashioned rooms in old residence so some character. Very helpful staff.
Silly things like the wrong plug/socket for the kettle. Initial difficulty to contact the concierge on arrival.
Friendly staff, charming room and building, lovely free breakfast, excellent location within walking distance of everything we wanted to see.
For a grown-up couple without children and wants to live in a downtown Roma atomospher like us, this appartment lodging is the best.Francesco ,the owner was really helpful gave us a lot of useful informations.
Room was very clean and comfortable. The location is very good in the midle of Trastevere with a lot of interesting restaurants around.
Breakfast is no aligned with the expectation of the hotel and the paid price.
Nice location, friendly staff.
Taking a shower produces a small flood in the bathroom. Water not draining fron the bath tuc. No warm water at the sink.
It was a good sized room, very comfortable and cleaned daily. The location was great, close to all of the main sites. The breakfast was a nice bonus too! All in all, it was a wonderful stay in a beautiful city!
Feel at home especially with the caring owners who personally attend to the guests.
Trastevere is a nice neighborhood, but it is a bit out of the way for seeing the sights. The public transportation isn't very good. The hotel seemed incredibly expensive for what we got, but I guess Rome is expensive all over. The breakfast that was included was minimal, one croissant, one hot drink and one juice.
Breakfast was great!
Not as central as we hoped and we struggled to find it.
The location in Trastevere was great. Close enough to walk into the city, but just slightly away from the chaos. They gave us an excellent recommendation for a Trattoria for dinner. The room was comfortable and stylish.
Nothing bad to say really. The room was smallish and we paid more than elsewhere on our trip around Italy, but this is Rome after all.
The style of the decor.
Economy neon lightbulbs, cheap toilettries, fridge not plugged in, furnishings were cheap Ikea, there was no service, no-one available at all. We knocked, we phoned, we left notes, but no-one even wanted to check us out or receive the keys from us. The breakfast in the cafe next door was horrible (one hot drink, one industrially-produced pastry and one glass of fruit flavoured drink instead of juice). We felt ripped off. These people do the absolute minimum for their guests, making us feel like they simply didn't care.
locale walk anywhere, sweet breakfast, elevator cool! front desk man was laid back n accomodating.
In a good location. Only a short walk to the tram-stop for the No.8 tram which takes you right into the city. Room clean and tidy. Helpful, friendly staff.
Room was at the rear of the building; window opening onto a small courtyard surrounded by tall buildings.
Wifi was excellent, we had access to a court yard which was a bit messy but good to have this access. This place is in a really excellent part of town. It's quiet but has loads of great restaurants, bars and shops with reasonable prices and quality food. Rooms serviced daily was great, tea and coffee making facilities. The host gave us a really detailed map with great info on where to visit and what to see. This was excellent to have and very much appreciated.
Air con made loud cracking noises in the early hours, also there sounded like an industrial laundry next door. It was tolerable.
Comfortable and Clean. The room was perfect for two. Air conditioning works perfectly, even on super hot days. The free coffee and croissant is really nice. Their cappuccino is delightful.
Love Trastevere, all the small cafe, restaurant and shops around you. Walking distanse to everything you have to see.
WiFi is not working very good.
In rome trastevere is the best location to stay Staff is very helpfull
The location was great - so many restaurants to choose from. The breakfast that was included was a great start to our day. This was my first trip to Italy and to Rome - great location - we walked to most of the sites we wanted to see.
There was nothing not to like!
Location was convenient to visit the sites in Rome and felt safe to wander around in Trastevere. Francesco, the manager, was helpful upon our arrival to inform us about transportation and places where to eat and where to have breakfast included in the price of the room. He made himself available at other times as well. The bed was comfortable. The flow and temperature of the water in the bathroom sink and shower was good. The building was and the bedroom, when there was service was clean too.
The bathroom was small and without enough room where to store personal items. The bedroom lacked storage space, has only a wardrobe, no drawers, shelves, coat hanger or even a foldable suitcase cart. The AC was set at 25C and was not possible to lower it if I wished to. The coffee house\restsurant downstairs had the music going till very late an although the windows blocked the sound considerably the "base" was pounding on my pillow till I fell asleep. There was no service on Sunday and our towels were changed only once, the day before our derparture, in the four days we stayed at the B&B? The Baylon Suites does not have a reception hall where guests can hang out to read or meet other guests. Breakfast is served in a coffee house around the corner from the Suites and there is no possibility of having breakfast in the bedroom. The breakfast was VERY poor, just sweet rolls (go early for a good selection otherwise you'll find only croassants), one Cappuccino and one glass of juice chosen by the coffee attendant. The decor of the room is a mismatch of styles and needs refurbishing to be up to par with other hotels rated above 8 in booking.com.
Room was great, in a very central area, the building and the neighborhood is amazing as well..
Fantastic place to stay and to come back. Helpful owner. Nice and pleasant atmosphere. Great localization if you want to feel the spirit of the south.
Very small room. No wardrob/closet to place and hang Dresses and cloths, no refrigorator in room
Staying in Babylon suites was great. I loved the pretty room. Interior is just amazingly elegant and stylish. Everything was clean, air condition working. Bed comfy enough. Francesco's advice was extremely helpful. Good location to explore Rome, although not in the middle of the touristic centre of the city. All major attractions are within reach of a half hour walk, though. The b&b is surrounded by bars, cafés and restaurants in the lively neighbourhood of trastevere. From trastevere station it is a 10eur taxi ride to the b&b.
Rooms are very noisy. We didn't mind but you should be aware of it. Don't rely on wi fi. It only worked when close to the door. Breakfast options in Italy are never ideal for German / English taste. There is a cafe 'cafe baylon' in the same building below the rooms you will get breakfast if you show them the vouchers Francesco gave you. The suggested options are cafe, orange juice and croissant. Francesco told us we can ask for sth else or add to the list. We asked at the cafe for sth different every morning because we didn't want the croissants: we asked for eggs, sandwiches, an apple, water instead of juice etc. . In the end we always got an ok breakfast but it just wasn't enough and it was never clear what we could have and what we couldn't have. The lack of English skills on their side and our poor Italian didn't help. But this was a no big issue as long as you don't expect too much, and we still loved our stay there and loved Rome. We'd always come back.
THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY A "10!" The location, the rooms, the beds, the Wi-Fi, the price, and the folks who own it. There were six of us, four adults and two teenagers. We had three bedrooms and the rooms are beautifully decorated and essentially renovated and brand-new. The area around the hotel is vibrant, with many opportunities for dining. YOU CAN'T GO WRONG ON THIS HOTEL!
Location Friendly staff Nice, quiet and cosy room, well decorated and maintained
