Friendly staff, clean, comfortable, good price, free fruit and juice, great air con, excellent wifi.
In need of a facelift but was fine for the money spent. We were hardly in our room anyway.
Comfortable and Clean. The room was perfect for two. Air conditioning works perfectly, even on super hot days. The free coffee and croissant is really nice. Their cappuccino is delightful.
Love Trastevere, all the small cafe, restaurant and shops around you. Walking distanse to everything you have to see.
WiFi is not working very good.
In rome trastevere is the best location to stay Staff is very helpfull
The location was great - so many restaurants to choose from. The breakfast that was included was a great start to our day. This was my first trip to Italy and to Rome - great location - we walked to most of the sites we wanted to see.
There was nothing not to like!
Location was convenient to visit the sites in Rome and felt safe to wander around in Trastevere. Francesco, the manager, was helpful upon our arrival to inform us about transportation and places where to eat and where to have breakfast included in the price of the room. He made himself available at other times as well. The bed was comfortable. The flow and temperature of the water in the bathroom sink and shower was good. The building was and the bedroom, when there was service was clean too.
The bathroom was small and without enough room where to store personal items. The bedroom lacked storage space, has only a wardrobe, no drawers, shelves, coat hanger or even a foldable suitcase cart. The AC was set at 25C and was not possible to lower it if I wished to. The coffee house\restsurant downstairs had the music going till very late an although the windows blocked the sound considerably the "base" was pounding on my pillow till I fell asleep. There was no service on Sunday and our towels were changed only once, the day before our derparture, in the four days we stayed at the B&B? The Baylon Suites does not have a reception hall where guests can hang out to read or meet other guests. Breakfast is served in a coffee house around the corner from the Suites and there is no possibility of having breakfast in the bedroom. The breakfast was VERY poor, just sweet rolls (go early for a good selection otherwise you'll find only croassants), one Cappuccino and one glass of juice chosen by the coffee attendant. The decor of the room is a mismatch of styles and needs refurbishing to be up to par with other hotels rated above 8 in booking.com.
Room was great, in a very central area, the building and the neighborhood is amazing as well..
Fantastic place to stay and to come back. Helpful owner. Nice and pleasant atmosphere. Great localization if you want to feel the spirit of the south.
Very small room. No wardrob/closet to place and hang Dresses and cloths, no refrigorator in room
Staying in Babylon suites was great. I loved the pretty room. Interior is just amazingly elegant and stylish. Everything was clean, air condition working. Bed comfy enough. Francesco's advice was extremely helpful. Good location to explore Rome, although not in the middle of the touristic centre of the city. All major attractions are within reach of a half hour walk, though. The b&b is surrounded by bars, cafés and restaurants in the lively neighbourhood of trastevere. From trastevere station it is a 10eur taxi ride to the b&b.
Rooms are very noisy. We didn't mind but you should be aware of it. Don't rely on wi fi. It only worked when close to the door. Breakfast options in Italy are never ideal for German / English taste. There is a cafe 'cafe baylon' in the same building below the rooms you will get breakfast if you show them the vouchers Francesco gave you. The suggested options are cafe, orange juice and croissant. Francesco told us we can ask for sth else or add to the list. We asked at the cafe for sth different every morning because we didn't want the croissants: we asked for eggs, sandwiches, an apple, water instead of juice etc. . In the end we always got an ok breakfast but it just wasn't enough and it was never clear what we could have and what we couldn't have. The lack of English skills on their side and our poor Italian didn't help. But this was a no big issue as long as you don't expect too much, and we still loved our stay there and loved Rome. We'd always come back.
THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY A "10!" The location, the rooms, the beds, the Wi-Fi, the price, and the folks who own it. There were six of us, four adults and two teenagers. We had three bedrooms and the rooms are beautifully decorated and essentially renovated and brand-new. The area around the hotel is vibrant, with many opportunities for dining. YOU CAN'T GO WRONG ON THIS HOTEL!
Location Friendly staff Nice, quiet and cosy room, well decorated and maintained
Slow internet Window on a small inner courtyard
The hotel is located in a very fun part of town. Very much like the Village in New York before it was gentrified. Not a posh hotel, but very comfortable. Felt more like an apartment than a hotel, since there is no real lobby and breakfast is served in a neighboring café. Hope to stay there again.
Great location in Trastevere neighborhood with an easy walk to transportation. Room was small but very comfortable and clean. My rom was on the inside of the building so there was very little a street noise.
The view from the only window was what looked to be of a community inside courtyard which is not maintained and cluttered with odds and ends. Not a big deal but it did detract from the beauty of the place.
Francesco was very helpful. Gave good tips on restaurants and places to see.
Right in the heart of Trastevere. The manager was so helpful and knowledgable. Flower and chocolates on our anniversary.
Noise from the square outside and the bar below. No dressing table in room.
Francesco, the owner was very helpful in telling me about the area and places to visit ! The room was large and clean! Had to sit close to window for internet but that was not a problem did a lot of people watching asTrasvestere is a very lively neighbourhood with amazing restaurants and beautiful buildings and churches to see!! Felt very safe in the evening wandering around as there were many people including families out late into the night!
Should have read the note on front of building but was also not told they conserve electricity and power was off from 8:30 til 1600. Wasn't a problem I went out for the day but being a 19th century building very dark and had to find my way out in the dark! Once I was out it was fine enjoyed the area and my stay very much
Lokalizacja, forma śniadań (z tzw. autochtonami), bardzo pomocny właściciel Hotel is located in a very good palce of Roma; form of breakfast (with local Italian people); very helpfull owner
The location in the Trastevere district was excellent. It meant that restaurants and bars were within seconds away so we didn't have to walk far on an evening. We walked everywhere from here pretty much everything was no more than a brsik 30 minutes walk - we liked this as it took us through lots of different areas. The area also felt very safe. The instructions to get there via email were very helpful. We were greeted by Luigi who showed us the room, gave us a map and some excellent site seeing and restaurant advice. The room was spotless and overlooked a little church and busy street. We were above the bar but it wasn't a problem. The bathroom had a small but adequate shower. The bed was really firm and very comfortable. There was tea facilities and a little fridge if you wanted to buy milk or wine. Breakfast was served in the Baylon cafe below, just coffee, orange and a croissant but we liked it. It is extremely busy with local trade so service was efficient rather than attentive. The cleaner was very helpful and spoke good English, we arranged check out and baggage storage with him. We only saw the owner on the last day but he was really helpful and kindly kept our bags safe in his apartment. If you want constant service and attention this isn't for you but if you want a beautiful, clean room in the midst of a busy area with privacy then this is an excellent option. I would highly recommend it and would definitely stay again.
Nice surroundings. Trastevere is a very interesting part of the city. Very near to everything. Good restaurants and cafes. Very friendly and helpsome staff. .
No real window in the room
The location was perfect to reach center and main sights on foot. But it is a lively neighborhood, so weekend nights can get noisy.
Breakfast was poor. Didn't match the description and although it has improved after the owner made a remark to the cafe it won't be what you expect.
based in travastere - close to city but can still escape the tourists . lovely restaurants and bars close by
the position is perfect, in the middle of trastevere (2 minutes walk from santa maria in trastevere) but close to main public transports stops
I loved the location and the convenience of walking to the stores and restaurants. Even the bank was just around the corner ... however, the pro doesn't out weight the con for me ... I think I would try another hotel before booking this one again.
I did not like the level of noise that I experienced every night (weekday and weekend) It was terrible and went well into the early morning hours. One evening I even had to listen to people screaming and yelling in a heated argument from upstairs. I stayed on the second floor and I wondered if it was coming from the owners apartment ... was just too tired to even get out of bed to go and complain.
The guy in the reception is very nice, he recommend us nice places in the area and offer a good service. Trastevere area is really nice full of cafes, good restaurants and cool places. There is not a Metro station near, but you can take the bus H from central station (write this in the hotel description), then you have the tram 8 to go to Piazza Venezia. Good breakfast included.
